Summary: The video is great!
Review: Mr. Kirsch created a great at-home workout. While not the easiest workout, it is definitely one that will produce results. In the two weeks I have used the workout I have noticed changes in my body. I already had to go out and buy smaller pants. It is also great not to have to use anything but my weights, and the beach setting helps me feel more relaxed.

What has made the biggest change is following this video along with the diet and nutrition advice Mr. Kirsch gives in his book. The recipes are delicious and I love the fact that I do not feel as if I am on a diet.

Thank you Mr. Kirsch!

Summary: A Great Video
Review: None of the advanced workout tapes in my extensive exercise video library has ever challenged me--that is, until I used David Kirsch's Bootcamp Video. I consider myself to be in excellent shape--I've been a runner for several years and exercise (cardio and/or weights/Pilates) 5-6 days/week. I did not know what to expect after putting the tape in the VCR and was hoping to not be disappointed since I was familiar with Mr. Kirsch's "Sound Mind, Sound Body" fitness program. Boy was I in for a treat! The video is a fairly fast-paced workout that is definitely intense. Mr. Kirsch effectively combines weight-training and cardio intervals to keep your heart rate elevated during the workout. He also offers motivation throughout so when you feel like you can't do one more push-up, he pulls it out of you. If you're bored with your current workout regimen or want to boost your fitness to a whole new level, I would recommend buying this video--you won't be disappointed.

Summary: David Kirsch Bootcamp DVD
Review: There's nothing like a high-paced workout that touches every area of your body. And when the setting is a beautiful beach, as it is in this video, it is even better. What I like about David Kirsch is that he's not your typical aerobic dance instructor, though it looks as if some of the bodies behind him are those of dancers. David is a true "coach." His exercises are tough, but his motivating style edges you to continue on, even if you can't do all the exercises the first time around. I loved the challenge, and my butt has never felt so firm.

Summary: The best I found in a couple of years :-)
Review: This is a good workout. I have tried other DVD workouts, and most of them don't really get my pulse up (usually they come in at about 100-140 bpm), however, this Bootcamp workout has me up in the range of 160-170, occasionally 180. For me, this is the requirement, as this is where the sweat starts flying all over the place :-).
When I started out about 12 months ago, I only used 2x2,5kg dumbbells, but have since added 2x3kg ankleweights, and I now use 2x5kg dumbbells, where I have gradually added weight, thus making for strength gains. In the beginning, I couldn't complete the entire program with the 2,5kg dumbbells, but now that seems like a walk in the park. I take this as an indication that the workout has made me stronger.
Whatever negative things can be said about this DVD would, in my opinion, be trivial. David Kirsch gives good instructions, has chosen good combinations of exercises, starts of with a gradual pulse climb during the warm-up and concludes with a bit of stretching - in my opinion, nothing truly bad can be said about this workout (EXCEPT for a comment, about midway through the workout: "You'll be ready for ANY bikini, I SWEAR..!" - since I'm a guy, I could have done without that).
Well, what are you waiting for, buy the damn thing ..!

You won't regret it.

Summary: DO NOT BUY IF YOU ARE OUT OF SHAPE
Review: This is a great workout--more strenuous than anything I've ever done. I am sure I woule see results FAST if only I had the strength and resolve to make myself do this workout regularly. I had to hit the "pause" button every 10 minutes to catch my breath. David Kirsch is fond of push ups, it seems, and I found it very hard to keep up when he plunged into push up sessions(twice!). I would echo what one customer said--DO NOT BUY IF YOU ARE OUT OF SHAPE--this is a challenging workout. I was amazed how the people in the dvd kept on smiling! Miracle!

Also, this dvd is hard to perform on slippery surfaces, such as wood, because it contains a lot of movements where you need to support your weight on the tip of your feet and arms(like reverse cycling in pushup position). No wonder they taped it on the beach, where the sand provided friction and stability. I would recommend that it be done on a carpeted floor or at least on a big stationary yoga mat which will stay put.

Summary: Excellent Excercise DVD
Review: This is a tough work out. David combines upper and lower body movements to make the most efficient use of workout. The workout is fast paced, and David keeps it interesting. The workout recommends using 1 - 5 lb dumbells. However, even without the weights, it gets your heart pumping within the first 15 mins of the work out. This one is a winner.

I had a couple of small issues with the DVD, no closed captioning (to to follow the workout whilt watching TV in PiP) and the DVD has very poor menu navigation (had to restart the DVD to get back to the main menu. Overall, this was a very good workout video.

Summary: Excellent workout
Review: This is an excellent workout. The workout is filled with plyometric exercises, as well as multi-joints, which really tire you out. I have been working out with this video for about a week and I can feel some changes in my body, already. David coaches you through all of the exercises, and is constantly telling you to concentrate on body part that you are working out (which is really effective). In addition, he also mentions the possible errors that you maybe making and where it should hurt if you are doing the exercises in bad form and how to correct it.

The most common problem with exercise vidoes is that they lead to boredom, but I don't foresee that problem anytime soon. The exercises are very challenging and it is quite hard to complete the whole session without stopping somewhere along the way. Thus, I think that is will remain a challenge to complete before boredom sets in.

As noted in other reviews, the quality of the DVD is not the greatest. For instance, if you go to one of the additional features on the DVD, you can't get back to the main menu unless you open and close the machine. And, there is a short pause in the video whenever a new chapter starts. These things aside, don't let it deter you from getting this DVD, because that is small in the big picture.

In addition to this video, you should invest in 2-3 pound dumbells (David calls for 2-5 pound dumbells). I find the 3 pounds to be more than enough for this workout (despite the fact that I use much heavier weights when in the gym.

Summary: Great overall workout!!!
Review: This is the best boot camp workout! The beach setting is great and David Kirsch is an excellent instructor. The only part I didn't like was the wimpy music which is very low in the background and sometimes the rep counts are not on beat. Such an intense workout deserves more lively music! Overall though, I am sure to feel this workout for days! Highly recommended!

Summary: David Kirsch is brilliant...but this workout isn't
Review: This video is full of great moves that will get your heart rate up and work your muscles, but it's impossible to follow! David doesn't explain how to do the moves properly, switches between exercises with no warning, and often loses count or speeds up/slows down in the middle of a set. You're better off getting his book "Sound Mind, Sound Body" and following at your own pace.

Summary: Challenging, diversified and fast paced workout! Really Nice
Review: This was really a nice surprise compared to other workout. It is really challenging, and since some exercises are with dumbbells, you can even make it harder...
It is fast paced, only a few repetitions per exercise and though I really got my hart rate up the whole time it was fun. The time really goes by fast, but after this workout you can feel what you have done. Kirsch really did a very good job to mix this set of exercises which blend together very good. The transition between exercises is fast, but after you have done it once it is easy to follow. It is so diverting, that you can repeat it regularly without getting bored and it really is a nice overall workout.
