Rating: Summary: A kick-butt workout Review: I really enjoy this workout because it really gets the heart pumping right away and throughout the workout. I work out at home and at the gym regularly and this workout is very challenging. After 20 minutes I am soaked with sweat, and this is just using 3 pound hand weights. It's the compound movements that keep the heart up. I've had to put it on pause just to catch my breath. I don't see myself betting bored soon with this at all. The only problem is that David and the gang workout on the beach and it's not that easy to do some of the moves (mountain climber) on an apartment floor. Also, his count is not consistent (he'll say 5 more to go, and then he counts 1 rep and moves on...) Lots of jumping jacks so that's a concern if you have picky neighbors below. This a very different workout. Definitely recommend trying it.
Rating: Summary: A Challenge! Review: I really enjoyed this workout. It was tough - I was reduced to a sweating, trembling wreck several times during the course of it but I kept going until the end (I do kickboxing frequently and considered myself fit!) Whilst my muscles felt wrecked during the workout, the next day I was expecting to be in absolute agony, but was thrilled that I really did not hurt that much at all!! I'm looking forward to doing it again, inbetween my cardio workouts. Heck - if you need any more motivation, just think Heidi Klum!
Rating: Summary: One of the better total body workouts Review: I use exercise videos on a daily basis. I have over 80 titles but I generally stick to about eight tapes that I use over and over. This workout by David Kirsch has made it number nine. The location of the workout, a sandy beach, is lovely and the camera work it excellent. The workout itself is tough and some of the moves need to be worked up to. The most appealing thing about this workout is David Kirsch himself. He is very natural in front of the camera and seems like a very gentle man. The workout itself is complete, combining cardio and sculpting using compound movements with light weights (3-5lbs). Everything is here: squats, lunges, shoulder presses, plyometrics, bi's, tri's, back, chest, and of course a healthy dose of push-ups and a stretch at the end. The workout lasts about 45 minutes which is a perfect length. Definately recommended.
Rating: Summary: Don't buy unless you are fit! Review: I was so pumped up when I received my DVD in the mail...but after 14 minutes of working out I was about to pass out. I would strongly encourage people not to purchase this DVD unless they are in pretty good shape to start, a beginner/intermediate level person might get discouraged. I use to be very physically fit. Now I play soccer one day a week, this is the extent of my exercise. If anything, it has encouraged me to get back into shape so that I can use this DVD...it looks like a workout I would really enjoy-once I can keep up!
Rating: Summary: Too much a religion Review: I'm English, and a daily home exerciser who has just added a pile of American DVDs to my collection for extra variety. Mostly, I have found that your fitness programmes are better than ours, as we use 'celebs' where you use gurus. In this one, however, I think 'guru' has been taken a little too literally, and I felt I was supposed to undergo a conversion. Yes, it's a good, tough workout, though very hard on the joints (the one common fault of the American programmes, I find), but I could have done without the quasi-religious vocab. I was also slightly disturbed by the (exclusively terribly young) squeaky clean congregation: more Stepford exercisers than looking as though they were having a good time. The *only* thing we Brits consistently do better than the Americans on fitness DVDs/vids is that we retain our humour rather than leaving it in the bathroom with our street clothes. I'll be using this, as it is effective, but I like others I bought more.
Rating: Summary: tough workout Review: i've been exercising on a daily basis for two years, and this is probably the first workout that has challenged me in a really long time. you definitely feel the burn. im looking forward to using it more and seeing the results. definitely not for beginners
Rating: Summary: Love David Kirsch's Sound Mind Sound Body Exercise Video Review: I've done the workout four times now and enjoy it more and more each time because I'm able to measure how much more I'm able to do and I'm able to focus more on the moves since I'm more familiar with what's coming. I love the variety of moves and the fast pace of the workout. No equipment other than light dumbbells (I use 3 pounds) is needed & the length at 45 minutes is just right. I consider myself a high intermediate exerciser and I find this routine very challenging, which is good because the boredom factor is non-existent. Once I'm done I know I've thoroughly worked my body and have a great feeling of accomplishment. My spirits remain elevated all day, which is an added incentive given the current state of the world. I highly recommend this.
Rating: Summary: (...) Review: If you are looking for a workout that will transform your body (...) then this is it!(...) I would recommend this to the intermediate or advanced exerciser, it's not for beginners. I have tried many fitness videos but none of them even compare to this one!
Rating: Summary: David Krisch's Boot Camp Video Review: If you want to see fast results you should buy this tape. You have to be dedicated and focused to see the results you are looking for. I have only used this tape for two weeks and I have lost 5 pounds.
Rating: Summary: Finally, a workout dvd that kicks your ass! Review: Let me just say, I have never had to take a break from a workout tape before! I am always looking for challenging workout tapes for days I can't hit the gym and this tape is all that and more.
David is great at keeping you focused, he even grunts and groans along with you through some of the exersices(and you will be grunting and groaning). I recommend this tape to anyone looking for a challenging advanced workout.
