Summary: Finally ! An Effective, Fun Workout You Can Do in 45 Minutes
Review: David Kirsch's Sound Mind Sound Body Boot Camp DVD is the perfect answer for those who want to get fit, but have "no time" to do it. In 45 minutes and with only two 3 lb. free weights, Mr. Kirsch takes you through a solid series of super effective toning and cardio moves, without ever letting you get bored. His brilliant point of difference from other exercise videos is his encouraging way of reminding you to focus your body, mind and spirit as you are moving. This special emphasis enables you to get maximum results while he moves you through the workout at an enjoyable pace; you never have a chance to think "on no, how many more of these?"!
When you finish, you feel the satisfaction of having completed a great workout, plus you feel what can only be described as a kind of centered, energizing calmness. I actually look forward to working out now!

Summary: David Kirsch will change your life!
Review: Exercise is more than working out your body, it is also a way to create peace for your mind. This is what I have learned from David Kirsch. There are few people as knowledgeable about the mind-body connection in conjunction with fitness. Everyone who has ever met David speaks about how he has changed their lives. The video is a 45 minute overall body workout, which is enhanced by David Kirsch's book "Sound Mind Sound Body."

Summary: A kick-ass advanced workout!
Review: Heed the reviews! This is an advanced workout! There is a lot of jumping and strength moves (ie push-ups) that will be very, very challenging to the beginning exerciser. For the intermediate/advanced - it's great. Using 5 pounds is probably the maximum amount of weight you can use, without causing any injury. This workout combines cardio strength moves, isometrics with the basics - squat thrusts, push-ups, crumches...etc. You do feel energized after doing it! David is a great motivator and not annoying at all. In fact he is quite funny: "Your butt...IT'S STINGING!" My only complaint is the music. It sucks. I wish the music wasn't so wimpy for such an intense workout. Also he does tend to speed up near the end of each set of exercises, but what can I say...he's pumped up!! Other than that...let this workout change your body and your attitude.

Summary: Difficult Workout That Can Be Done in a SMALL space
Review: I agree with the other reviewers that this workout is extremely challenging, even for someone who is in decent shape. A major pro is that it can be done in a small space. I live in a TINY apartment and I can do this entire workout in a small patch of carpet between my couch and my bookshelves. (I can't use my other videos like pilates because they require too much space to swing my legs around.) I guarantee that you'll be able to do this workout in the smallest of studio apartments.

Like other reviewers have mentioned, the major con is the music: it's too quiet, it's uninspiring and David's reps are rarely with the beat which is mildly annoying. (But honestly, how many exercise videos actually have good music?!) Another con is that David doesn't show any modifications for the moves. I've been doing aerobics for years so I know what to do if my neck hurts but novices may not and thus may find this video too difficult. He doesn't even show the basic modification for push-ups that many of us women use.

Overall it's definitely worth the money and you get a great workout that combines cardio and light weight training for overall body conditioning in a reasonable amount of time.

Summary: Money Back Please
Review: I am greatly disappointed in this video. First, I think a professional of David's caliber should not sale this as something that you can do in the comfort of your home, unless of course, you have carpet a mile deep to absorb the shock. He does the routine on sand and with just cause. The constant jarring that you place on your joints by doing this tape could have long-term negative effects.

I feel that because of the techniques required to do these movements properly are important, that the sandy surfaces are not the best for instructional purposes.

I believe some of the customer's comments, that you will see positive outcomes by doing this tape. You can't help but to lose inches and tone up . . . but at what cost?

Summary: Okay, but be careful not to hurt yourself
Review: I bought this DVD because based on other user reviews I felt it might help me push myself beyond my intermediate fitness level. It definitely has helped to do that because it really gets my heart racing with the drills, and I like the fact that he integrates hand weights into the routine.

But there are a couple of reasons why this is not a great fitness DVD and why it deserves only 3 stars.

First proper form and technique are not discussed. Kirsch himself even flails through some of the drills without proper form. There is one series where you squat down with your hands on the floor, kick your legs back, bring them back in and then stand up with your hands raised above your head that is especially grueling on the knees and wrists. And I have not been known to have bad knees and wrists.

Second, either the way the music is laid over the video on the DVD I received is messed up, or Kirsch has no rhythm whatsoever. I find this annoying and sometimes I just turn the volume off completely.

There is also a strange intro by Kirsch at the beginning of the DVD where he talks about mind-body connection and demonstrates exercises with some model woman that always makes me laugh.

Overall, I think this is an okay DVD to integrate into your home workout routine as long as you don't use it too often because you'll probably wind up hurting yourself.

Summary: Tough DVD!!
Review: I bought this DVD because I had attended a Marine PT training class and wanted to have the workouts without the cost of the PT course. This DVD is the closest to the real PT course that I have found. The workouts are tough for beginners (my friend was panting 10 min. through) but with practice, you get further and feel stronger. I love the PT drills, but they kick my butt!
Have fun with this one.

Summary: David Kirsch's Ultimate Fitness Bootcamp is the Ultimate!!
Review: I cannot say enough great things about this workout. David Kirsch has filled a void lacking in other workouts. During the workout it is challenging, invigorating, and never ever dull or boring. You engage your mind, you feel the music and you definetly feel the burn! You'll get to the point where your body and mind becomes the power source it was originally meant to be. After a workout I feel calm, grounded and amazing! I started to see results immediatly. Truly fantastic. Trust me, if you want to fit into those Seven jeans again and look and feel great this is the way to go.
