Review: Okay, if you are looking for a silly narrator, cheap effects, and a boring video. This is for you. The rest of the reviews on how scary and gruesome it is, is just for money. Believe me! Don't waste your money on this, maybe a rent, but I do not even recomend that! The only scene was the eating of the heart, but that was even silly. This should be called kill the animals, and surgery film. Don't be fooled, the cover and reviews sound better but it's not. (Death is not close up.)

Review: I watched this when I was planning on a career in medicine. It didn't bother me, but I have a strong stomach. However, some parts of the movie can really both other people. Some of the ways the animals and people die in the movie can really upset some.

Summary: The best of the series
Review: This review refers to the DVD edition of this film. I have seen all for of the Faces of Death films and as the title of this review says, the original is the best. By best I don't mean that all of the scenes are genuine. The man being eaten by the alligator scene is a hillarious staging, and the shoot out between the swat team and a man who has just killed his family, is staged. I guess that's the fun part about this film, trying to work out what real and staged using your own intuition and common sense. IE a gas chamber is a sealed chamber so obviously the guy being gassed is not really being gassed as you can hear him coughing.
That said there is some real footage of animal deaths/ mutilations and the pit bull fighting scene is garaunteed to offend most viewers. I personally don't have a problem with this, as this sort of thing would be going on whether or not the film makers/producers chose to film it or not. So in this regard, your choosing to watch this film will be based on whether you have a realistic world view and if you can deal or not.
The picture of this film is as grainy as the old VHS copy I saw in the early 90's. The sound mix is fairly disappointing too, you can literally hear the static come through on the commentary the narrator gives in the scene where the girl jumps to her death.
As far as the extras go, the Fact or Fiction documentary is a nice extra to have, as it provides comments on the more contraversial scenes from all 4 of the films -IE how we staged this was by........ - if you get the drift. It's kind of a campy documentary in the Fangoria vein of things, and Dr. Lewis Flelis hams it up while being interveiwed by some inexpereinced interviewer. There are also trailers for Faces of Death, Beyond the Bizare, and the Strange and Gruesome.
In summary, I give it 3 out of 5 mainly because although mostly fake, it's still entertaining to watch the so-called Dr. Francis B Gross crap on about what he thinks is happening based on his "Medical Expertise". I think of it as a bad horro films from the late 70's.

Review: 'Faces of Death' is a half decent film showing the gruesome deaths of numerous people. The movie is almost ruined by the awful narration, which is even worse than a bad horror flick. Nonetheless, it is worth the watch if you are curious about seeing people killed.

Summary: Piece of Crud!!
Review: O.k, i have come to the conclusion that there are two different versions of the "Faces of death" series: The "authentic" version, and the "garbage re-run" version. I first rented Faces of Death part 3 a while ago, because people were talking about how cool the movie was, and although alot of the footage was obviously fake, it was all NEW material exclusive to part 3. However, i just seen the video a couple weeks ago, and was shocked to see that it was nothing more than a few crappy scenes from parts 1 & 4, and a bit of stock footage from "The many taboos of death". This is quite strange as to why Gorgon video would put out a "good" version, and a cheap thrown together bad version. And apperantly, this is also true with parts 2,4,5, and 6. one has all material exclusive to that volume, and the other is just a bunch of re-run footage from earlyer ones. I suggest anyone who has this problem write to gorgon video or whoever it is that distributes this filler, and demand an explanation. This is unquestionably one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The "death" scenes are all faked, clearly staged, and poorly at that! some of the fake stuff is funny cuz it was acted out horribly (The only scenes in the entire movie that appear to be genuine are footage from rabbit and chicken slaughter houses... Wooooh what horror! Sometimes unredeemingly bad movies are so bad they're good. THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM. Do not waste your time--or money--on this rubbish unless you are a twisted,sick, deranged ghoul of a person.

Summary: A grab bag of wonders......
Review: Well first off note that this mondo style film never bored me. It had just enough action packed into the 105 minutes to keep me watching. If you took away the death scenes and just listened to the commentary, you would take alot out of exactly what the movie was trying to get across. Most people judge this film too harshly. I will warn you, if you are weak at heart do NOT WATCH THIS FILM, but anybody else who has a free night and wants to watch special effects at there near greatest, check this movie out. Although not 100% real, this is still worth watching. I think that a group of film students wanted to make a scary movie and didnt want to include a plot so they made this. All over, 3 out of 5.

Summary: The idea alone is worth the price of admission...
Review: When I was around 13 or so, a good friend of mine (who was in his 20's) rented Faces of Death (the original) and I was like, "God that's sick." But, I guess that was the point. Now, almost ten years later, I was blessed with the fortune of getting finding this boxed set. These movies ARE gross, sick, demented, and not for people who don't like being grossed out. But, they are also perfect for those who want to SEE what the rest of the world doesn't want you to see. They are also one of the coolest "cult" video series ever. You really can't go wrong with these movies, even if after the second movie they DO get kinda cheesey. But you HAVE to hear the "Faces of Death" song that is on the end of the 4th video. It is truly funny and plain out FOUL. The movies really are good, and they are finally available to the public without them being ripped off, badly dubbed, 20 year old copies. Enjoy.

Review: To the people who think these movies are sick--they supposed to be. i watch to be disturbed, creeped out, have the crap scared outta me. thats what they are supposed to do! if you have a problem with them, DONT WATCH THEM! these movies are trying to disturb people, and they do a damn good job at it!

I dont know if it was from this movie but it said Faces Of Death so i am assumeing it is.
First off there was a russian soilder getting his head cut off with a bowie knife....sick
The sound was so sick.
Then there was a man getting his pay check then all of a sudden in the middle of a board meeting got up and shot him self in the head...it was very real
i dont know about some in this movie but it was realthen they had a girl tied to a chair and someone shot her in the head.
if you can watch this kind of stuff and get enjoyment from it
you are a sick person and are going to hell.
these movies should be banned from the united states, they are so sick.
