Review: As a big fan of Cirque du Soleil, I found this experience another mesmerizing trip to the owrld of high quality entertainment that can only be expected from unique cast of Cirque du Soleil, Bravo!

Summary: If you can't get to a live performance...
Review: You can see Cirque du Soleil for the first time just once, unfortunately. Your first Cirque exposure is so disorienting and magical that the subsequent shows never quite measure up. Quidam does the best job yet of making the experience brand new again. (And if Quidam is your first Cirque show, so much the better!) Some people may regard Cirque du Soleil as not much more than an arty Las Vegas show. For some of us, however, it's a religious experience. If you can't get to a live performance, buy this video. Buy this video anyway!

Summary: Following the Cirque tradition, Quidam represents it well...
Review: I've seen Quidam twice in New York City, and once in Washington DC, each time was more amazing than the one preceding it. The music, the visual, and the general atmosphere. Almost surreal to the eye, you shouldn't miss this one!! It's probably best if you saw it live, but watching it on DVD is always a last resort. Truly amazing!! Also, don't forget to catch other Cirque on video such as Saltimbanco (not so good on video, too many dizzying visual effects used), and Nouvelle Experience (excellent even on video). Cirque is really establishing itself, don't be surprised if you start seeing a permanent Cirque show at a town near you!!

Summary: Wonderful job of capturing the spirit of le cirque du soleil
Review: Quidam is the most dramatic and theatrical of all Cirque productions, and this video does an excellent job of capturing the soul of the show. All cirque fans will want this video!

Summary: Disappointment from Cirque
Review: I am a dedicated Cirque fan, experiancing the delights of O, Alegria, Varekai, and Dralion. I recently saw Quidam on TV and was extremely disappointed that I sat and wasted 3 hours of my life in front of the TV for that. This annoying little girl never quits singing, and nothing very entertaining happens through the entire performance. If you want to become a huge Cirque Du Soleil fan, my advice is to not watch this one first, because it will spoil it for you. The best would be to go and see O (or Mystere) live in Las Vegas before anything.

Summary: Cirque du Soleil comes of age.
Review: My personal history of experiences with Cirque du Soleil is erratic - my first exposure to them being a trip to "Saltimbanco" in London's Royal Albert Hall, a performance so unexpectedly magical and so unlike any other event I have attended that I subsequently went a further five times, taking everybody I could persuade to come with me.

Video purchases of this, and "Nouvelle Experience" followed, which was equally delightful.

This was followed by "Alegria", which, I have to say, bitterly disappointed me. I found it lacked the sheer exuberance of "Saltimbanco", and whereas most Cirque productions seem to have a clear theme, I found "Alegria" an obtuse and disparate confusion of inferior acts to those of "Saltimbanco", chained together with clowning routines taken verbatim (with no warning nor apology) from Russian clown Slava's previous "Snowshow" production.

"Quidam", however, is not only as much a return to form, more a totally productive reinvention and enhancement of it, resulting in an equally magical, but also a superior, more mature, elegant offering, with a powerful theme, profound symbology, incredible acrobatic performances, layer upon layer of belief-shattering visuals, and outstanding musical moments. This is Cirque du Soleil's tour-de-force and finest moment to date, and elevates "Circus" to the league of fine art.

Witness the "simple" routine whereby a hula-hoop is jettisoned so that it orbits a clown in a slowly decreasing spiral, to finally roll straight into his hand, that had been accurately positioned to accept it from the start, and you will begin to understand the level of utter control and perfection that exudes from this production at every opportunity.

Towards the end of this video I was struck with the thought "if ever the human race were put on trial by extraterrestrials for their atrocities, this should be exhibit A in their defence". This video will make you gasp in awe, laugh, cry, dream, and spend some time afterwards pondering the nature of the human condition.

Simply, a masterpiece.

Summary: A Big Fat Sleeping Pill
Review: The lighting was very strong and good. The costumes were great. The music was great. John Gilkey is very annoying and far from funny. He plays the character in the blue coat and jacket with the bald head called "John." He is just goofy and makes annoying faces. In one of the scenes where you're just getting into the music, John screams like a maniac. I hated that scene. The girl's (Zoe's) voice is nice, but the lyrics are just made of a bunch of annoying "Sooo" and "scoo" and "voo" and koo" sounds, unlike other shows, like Mystere, which have haunting lyrics. There are a lot of acts in this show, which makes it go by very slowly. Each act makes the show look like it's going to end, but it isn't. I felt very bored after the first couple of acts. The clowns are not funny at all. They just run around and say "Hey " "Woah" and "Bravo."

Summary: Big Dissapointment
Review: After seeing Mystere, Vareka and Dralion I was truly dissapointed in the performance of Quidam.
Artistically the music, the theme was dark and gloomy and it lacked tremendously the pizzazz of the other shows.

The performance were nothing spectacular and I was little baffled from the wonderful reviews it received from the others.
I am not saying this was the worst show I have ever seen but compared to the others it truly was a disappointment.

I would highly recommend to check the other three before you venture into Quidam.
