Summary: My first Cirque Experience
Review: After my parents having gone to Treasure Island to see Mystere, I knew I would really enjoy a Cirque performance, based on their reactions to the show. I ordered a package through Columbia House, with Quidam and Dralion both. Quidam has a storyline that is more elaborate, and developed (in my opinion) than Dralion. After watching it repeatidly, I am still amazed at how many nuances I can pick out that I had never noticed before. Without going into specifics I would say that the theatrics and acts are coordinated beautifully, juxtaposed to the weaker story of Dralion, which seems to focus mainly on the acts. Surely Quidam is a must-see.

Summary: Classic Cirque
Review: After having seen Alegria and Dralion I did not know what to expect when I saw Quidam. Like all other Cirque shows this has re-invented the circus yet again. With amazing aerial displays of feat, and some amazing acrobatics on the ground, this show will amaze all. From the sheer size of the stage under the Big Top to the acts I was very impressed by this production. This first act was German Wheel and let me say I have never seen anyone do that with a wheel before, you have to see it to believe it. The Aerial Contortion was amazing, having seen Isabelle Chasse in Nouvelled Experience I was pleased to see her in another production. The came Skipping Ropes, boy I wished I had paid more attention in gym class, I could be a Cirque star. Two other acts to mention are the Handbalancing and Banquine. They will amaze all. If you are a Cirque fan than this show is for you.

Summary: A surreal and entertaining experience!!
Review: I first saw this video at a cousin's who hapened to have it, the video does not only entertain but it will make you curious enough to want to see it in person, even though the Quidam troop is not presently on tour in the U.S. The idea behind Cirque du Soleil not to use performing animals will not bother you once you begin watching. There are high altitude acts with no net, such as a ladythat comes down at high altitude on a piece of strong fabric and doing contortions in mid air with little else holding her. There are no clowns in the traditional sense, but there is a character named John who dances juggles and does some pretty funny physical comedy with a set of darts witha bulseye held flat on top of his head. Other great acts are a german young man who perfoms the german wheel which is a two dimensional wheel with monkey bar handles a great feat of coordination, agility and strength, making the wheel go forwards, backwards, sideways while he is inside this wheel controlling it with the use of his body. Another interesting act is a contortion and hand balancing act by a perfomer named Olga Pikienko, she has great highly cordinated choreographed moves moving from one set of balancing beams no larger than the size of a foot or hand. It is a grand production with music perfomed live, a story which centers on loosing our inner child by becoming consumed with the material self obsessed world. Highly recommended for anyone curious about Cirque du Soleil, I have viewed it several times and don't easily tire of it...

Summary: I am glad somehow my dream still exists
Review: I was sitting on the couch and watchingthe dvd. I never heard of cirque du soleil until then. After all Zoe started her journey and took us all with her into that fantasy with beauitul dreams and horendous nightmares. The acrobatic themes began with the German wheel followed by the diabolo. I have to admit that these two along with the hand balancing and banquine. I have seen lots of amazing diabolo performances when I was in Taiwan, but still found the whole sequence from those four girls astonishing. The German wheel is unbelievable, because it's just hard to imagine how can a human body can direct and redirect the movement of the wheel.......I may have to write a paper to discribe everything though. But I think the only act I like less is the Clowns, they were funny for a while, then they got a little annoying. John Gilkey is great great actor, he made me laugh with every act he put on.

I think the best part of Quidam is it's music and theme. The theme, unlike any others cirque du soleil show I have seen, showed the vision of a girl's mind, not just a story from our view anymore. Zoe brought the audience into the fantsy, and led us through her experience of bore, amaze, terror..... I must also say that the it was so unique that Cirque du Soleil used a self-created language in every show. Quidam was no exception. Even some lyrics can never be understood, but the audience coud still feel it, the emotion and the power from the music, the story and all the act. I am getting tired of typing, so I won't write no more. One last thing I have to say is: get the dvd, even if you never like circus.

Summary: One of my favorite Cirques
Review: The show is very entertaining from start to finish, and I find myself watching it over and over. The music and acts blend very well together along with the costumes. John Gilkey is quite possibly the best clown in all the Cirques I have watched. Quidam is worth the purchase just to see him perform.

Summary: one of the best dvds we have ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: We could not leave the show, after we saw it we tryed to go to sleep (at 2 am), but the music kept playing in our heads, we were wxcited so much from the whole thing, so we got out from bed and went to see it for the second time! And twice more on the next day, 7 times in 3 days! I cant even explain why it got us in such a way, but we loved every minute of it until today.

Summary: Better in person but still fantastic
Review: Having seen the show live twice I was thrilled to see the DVD version of quidam. Like all of Cirque Du Soleil's videos the technical production is fabulous. I was slightly bummed to see that the act involving the pair using the weighted red balls was not included but this in no way diminished the package. Overall I found the DVD stunning and I'm impressed by how well it was adapted from the big top to the screen.
