Summary: 5 Stars...and a Question
Review: I loved, and I do mean LOVED Babylon 5! It was without doubt the best long-term story arch in TV history. Buy this by all means. My qustion is this--do we get the pilot (the Gathering) with this box? Was In the Beginning (sold with The Gathering) one of those separate B5 TV movies? Is it still worth it to buy that other DVD?

Review: I saw all the episodes a couple of years ago. The first season was the weakest, it was comparable to Star Trek's best offering. However, it really sets up the universe that the rest of the seasons work within this framework. My wife hates SciFi and she got addicted to the episodes with me and really loved it. In fact I think it's the only SciFi I've heard her praise. If you're just getting into the Babylon 5 craze, just remember it really takes off after after the first season.The price for the entire season is very reasonable and puts owning the entire set in reach. Compare to the price to buy the first season on VHS. I've been waiting for the day I could start buying entire seasons on DVD. This is a golden moment for SciFi fans. addendum:
Just got done watching it anew. Second viewing of the episodes was better than the first. So many little details I missed, so much forshadowing for things in later seasons. Every episode leaves you with more questions. The real story is the character development over long plot arcs that doesn't treat the viewer like a simpleton. It's all foreshadowed deeply. When's the second season coming out? I'm waiting impatiently!

Review: I have always been a clasic "Trekkie", and really enjoyed all the standard Trek Movies - until I saw this series. Flipping through the channels brought across Bab 5 episode "Severed Dreams". That was my hook. The episode itself was PERFECT, in acting, in screenplay, in dialog, and in special effects. There are numerous episodes in which the screenplay is surreal - especially during the 3 and 4 seasons. The depth and meaning behind the story far transcend the weekly borings of Trek. I personally cannot wait for the release of series 3 and 4 along with (hopefully) the release of the remaining B5 movies on DVD: A Call to Arms and Thridspace. It's always suprised me how many people are actually hooked on this series, and they all have great things to say about it. DVD is definately worth it!

Summary: Only DVD's You'll Ever NEED!
Review: Throughly engaging! We watched the whole first season in one marathon (on Laser Disc), now that it's available on DVD, we can't wait to do it again. We've even recorded all the eps on VHS but we just know the DVD's will be our most prized versions. Babylon 5 and Crusade have inspired and enlightened our family (ages 8-42) ever since the series first aired. Allegorically current and unasumingly instructional, this isn't just Space SciFi, this is the ultimate social and personal adventure revealing our intergalactic role and spiritual example!

Review: I just have to comment on the extremely flawed logic of a previous reviewer that said you should not buy any of these sets until all 5 seasons are out because they may not release all the seasons. This is the WRONG way to approach it. This WOULD cause them to not release future seasons. I recommend everyone BUY this first season to indicate to WB that you support the seasons sets and will buy the other seasons when they are released. I for one cannot wait. I've been waiting patiently for season box sets for a long time. And we get them in DD and anamorphic. ANAMORPHIC! I'm in heaven!! Babylon 5 is without doubt one of the best written and best laid out sci-fi shows in TV history. Support the DVDs...buy the boxed set!

Summary: SIMPLY THE BEST SHOW EVER DONE, AND HERE'S WHY
Review: Babylon 5...The only show that makes me want to run out and tell everyone to watch the entire series no matter the cost. I am a loyal "Star Wars" and "Star Trek" fan and if are even remotely interested in these shows you should seriously plant your butt in a lazy boy for awhile and watch this series.
This show goes beyond anything you've ever watched before,unless you watch soap operas. The rest of the shows out there should just flat out be ashamed of themselves for not being this good. The idea is simple, link the "entire" series to one or several themes and show said themes throughout the span of the show. Unfortunately to my dismay, no other show that I know of has even attempted this. Everyone should take notes on the structure of the show. This is the key to keeping the fans coming back for more, as long as the story line is good and trust the me, the story lines in B5 are flat out, hands down the best you can find anywhere.
So if you have a beating heart and your body temp is around 98.6 or so, then trust me you will love this collection of DVD's. I personally just got through buying a second hand collection of VHS tapes for the whole series,not the best quality but worth watching all the while. The thought of the entire show on DVD is mindblowing.
So what are you wating for, every story has a begining, and every beginging has a story this is the story of the last of the Babylon station's the best story ever told...

Summary: YES... finally on DVD!!
Review: I have waited patiently (hmmm... maybe not so patient... hehe) for this series to come out on DVD. To put it bluntly the first 4 seasons were simply the best sci-fi in series form I have ever seen. It had everything one could want in a sci-fi story, comedy, drama, suspense, sadness, adventure and special effects that still look fantastic today. The 5th season? Well let's just say that it just didn't work as well as the first 4. I know that the 5th season was renewed at the last minute and the changes made were not for the better but overall it's not bad. I will buy it only because it still has some great spots here and there. I only wish that it could've completed some storylines and, even more, was longer than it was. If I had my wish the first 4 seasons would've lasted for 10... hehe.
