Summary: This Movie is Completly pathetic
Review: The Fans of Star Trek wanted Spock back, and the writers were working very hard on exactly how to do it. There sollution was this movie, and it was the of the worst Star Trek movie, except The Motion Ambombination and Star Dreak 5: the Boring Frontier. The replacement of Lt. Savvik was not a good idea because the replacment was nowhere near the talent of Kirstey Alley. This movie had to happen to set the stage for the best movie Star Trek Four: The Money making Journey Home. Star Trek is usually great, but this movie did not hit the spot at all.

Summary: Nimoy delivers satisfying "Khan" sequal.
Review: This really is a great "Star Trek" movie. It suffers a bit in the act of following up the superior "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan", but it is satisfying and exciting to watch.This is a film that was really made for the fans. People who are not familliar with the "Star Trek" universe may have a tough time really enjoying this film, mostly because it is the sequal of a movie that was the sequal of a TV episode. However, this film offers some priceless moments. It is a rousing adventure that explores life and death and the sacrifices that are made in friendship. The strength of the film is in how the characters are shown REALLY working as a team to save the soul of their friend and comrade. Kirk et all risk their careers and very lives by defying orders, stealing the Enterprise (in a fantastic scene!), and confronting an evil Klingon warrior (played by Christopher Lloyd) to recover Spock from the life-giving Genisis Planet. Some of the plot is a bit hokey, and, no matter how many times I view this film, I find myself repeatedly "willing" Kirk to find another way to defeat the Klingons besides destroying the famous starship. It does seem a bit like a publicity ploy. However great ILM special effects and performances by William Shatner and Christopher Lloyd raise the film above its minor problems. Not as heart-pumping as "Khan", but still an intellegent and intertaining film.

Summary: It was an awsome show!!!
Review: I just LOVE Star Trek!!! I really enjoyed this movie because it showed the bondage each of the crew felt for their friend SPOCK. They didn't care they were disobeying orders, they wanted to help their friend. Christopher Lloyd makes a great Kilingon :) I liked how they brough Spock back and it was a great sequel to the 2nd one. I hope all you people out there keep on watching and enjoying the future now!! :)

Summary: Solid sequel to "Wrath of Khan"!
Review: "The Search for Spock", while not up to the par of the previous Trek movie, is nonetheless one of the better films in the entire series, despite the fact that the title character barely appears. Making up for his absence, though, is the return of his father, Sarek, as well as the heart-tugging ending on the planet Vulcan. Slightly marring the film are Christopher Lloyd as the Klingon captain (just can't picture Reverend Jim as a Klingon!) and a different actress playing Saavik instead of Kirstie Alley (from Trek II), who was born for the role. However, these are minor detractions. Seeing the destruction of the beloved Enterprise, being watched by the planetside crew, is worth the price admission (or rental fee), alone!

Summary: Dude Spiffed Up
Review: This "Trek" movie is quite asthetically pleasing. The effects for the destruction of the Enterprise are magnificent. I would give it five stars but the ending is ridiculous: A Vulcan priestess shouts "Ben... Dval... NAVOON!" while a gong bongs in the background. Overall this is a great movie though.

Summary: A Good Transition
Review: I agree with Leonard Maltin that "Trek III" was a transitional movie with more to come. But in keeping with the warmth and humanity of the characters in "II", Kirk showed himself to be real people when after he tries to rescue the Klingon captain who had his son killed, only to be pulled into danger himself, Kirk finally admits that "I have had enough of you" and kicks the Klingon in the face to his death in the fiery canyon below. All in all a worthy transition to what I consider the real Trek trilogy: Treks II, III and IV: the Voyage Home. These three tell a complete story. Although IV promises more to come, I found it a satisfying end to a complete three-part story line.

Summary: Not bad, but not that great, either
Review: The first 45 minutes of this film are outstanding. The fact that consequences from actions of a previous movie are seen is an unheralded breakthrough in moviemaking. The pain and guilt that Kirk feels is appropriate. The best part of the film is when the crew steals the Enterprise. Frankly, you could make an entire movie out of just such a topic. James Horner's music (he also did Star Trek II) to this entire sequence of events is outstanding and it really generates a lot of excitement and tension as the crew desparately try and get the ship out of space dock. Once in space, though, the film starts to meander downwards. The depiction of the Klingons doesn't invite too much fear out of you and the dumb looking Klingon muppet-dog-pet, which elicits more chuckles than ominousness, does not help matters at all. The whole segment of the film surrounding the Genesis planet isn't executed very well and the planetary special effects are not very good, as the whole look and feel only confirms that everything is taking place on a sound stage. Indeed, except for exterior shots of ships and associated explosions in space (including the well-executed Enterprise desctruction sequence), the effects for the film leave much to be desired (just look at the on-board computer screens for the Excelsior. Ugh, those graphics look like they came from an Atari 2600 game system). The Vulcan mythos is executed much better in Star Trek IV, with this film only giving you a few interesting insights. The film could have been a lot better, but it's still watchable, almost exclusively for the first half, though, with things coming apart in the second half of the film.

Summary: A EXCELLENT STAR TREK FILM SUCESSOR TO STAR TREK II
Review: STAR TREK III is the best of all the odd films to date finding out what happend to SPOCK may be one of the most entertaning puzzles of STAR TREK to date. I won't say weither he's alive or not just watch the film and find out. Also you'll see why KIRK hates the klingons as much as he does in STAR TREK VI when you see this film I won't give it away though all in all don't miss film if you're a STAR TREK fan like I am.
