Summary: The BEST Star Trek movie. Period.
Review: This one has it all - the cast at it's prime, great script, tension, action, quotes from Moby Dick (that wasn't original in "First Contact"...), and the best villain ever.

Summary: Disappointing
Review: I'm one of those people who don't judge movies by how much action/adventure they have in them. Therefore, in my humble opinion, Star Trek: The Motion Picture was probably the best film trek ever made (except for the costuming). The music and special effects were far superior to any Trek made since. That being said, it should be obvious that I was mildly disappointed by the Wrath of Khan. Not that it's a bad movie, but because it devolves into the action/adventure genre and strays from the esoteric thoughtfullness that made the original film great. The Wrath of Khan is far superior its follow-up,"The Search for Spock" (check out those cheesy sets), but still not as good as the original.

Also, I must point out that I found James Horner's musical score to be grating when comapred to first film's musical score. Also, it's a recylcled bit of music. Check out the film "Krull," in which James Horner also composed the score. It's nearly the exact same music as in the Wrath of Khan. Talk about originallity!

Summary: The unknown trilogy
Review: Everyone knows about the Star Wars trilogy (now soon to be trilogies), but often overlooked, in my opinion, is the fact that ST II, III, and IV are the Star Trek trilogy (with VI being the final chapter, I being the prologue, and V being a mistake). This movie explores the depth of the Star Trek canon, from the battle between good and evil to the conflict between logic and emotion -- a theme carried over in III and IV. This movie, on its own, however, is certainly either the best or tied with VI for the best Star Trek movie ever. No Next Generation film comes close. One complaint: when is Paramount going to release "Special Editions" of Star Trek films? It wouldn't cost nearly as much to do as the Star Wars film (after all, at most we only see three or four ships in any given Star Trek movie -- there are routinely three or four ships in any one shot in Star Wars).

Summary: a must see
Review: star trek and non-star trek fans will love this highly entertaining sci-fi film. the plot concerns a villian named khan who wants revenge on admiral kirk. the special effects are very good, despite the fact that you could tell most (or all) of them were fake, but c'mon, this is the early eighties. special effects weren't as advanced as they are today.

Summary: ONE OF THE BEST ENDINGS EVERY
Review: One of the fastest paced movies I have ever seen. James Horner's score tops them all. Ricardo Montalbon is aGREAT ACTOR. Great acting, music, plot etc. make this a great movie. Only Insurrecton, Undescoverd Country and The Motion Picture.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: After 9 movies STILL THE BEST!!!
Review: The movie works in every aspect:story, dialogue, music, acting, everything. The best of the Trek films. Too bad it was followed by one of the worst. Unlike that film, TWOK has humor, fun, and thrills.

Summary: Star Trek II Rocks
Review: I own this movie and it is the best out of all of them. It is about a man named Khan (we first met him in Episode 24 of the orignal series its name is Space Seed). Who wants Revenge against Kirk for marooning him on Ceti Alpha 5. He takes Chekov as his slave and the battle starts. By the way this is Kristie Alley's (Cheers)first movie as she plays Lt. Savik. It is a great movie with a Surprising ending.

Summary: Fire!
Review: You will want to see this film mainly because Shatner and Montalban say "Fire" better than any other actors, ever. Besides that, it captures the spirit and story quality of the original series while upgrading the special effects to a level that still holds up today. James Horner's music is superb. "Evasive starboard!"

Summary: KIRK VS. KHAN
Review: When Executive Producer Harve Bennett was asked to helm this sequel to 'THE MOTION PICTURE' he NEVER heard of 'STAR TREK'. So he sat down one day, and viewed ALL 79 episodes of the original series. He then decided to base this film upon episode no. 27. Nicholas Meyer does a fine job directing this sequel [ 1st of 6], not only to the first movie, but to the above mentioned episode (SPACE SEED). Ricardo Montalban is ONCE AGAIN exciting in his role of 'KHAN NOONIAN SINHG'.

Summary: KIRK VS. KHAN
Review: The first of the MANY sequels that followed. When executive producer Harve Bennett was asked to helm this film, he HAD NEVER HEARD of 'STAR TREK'. In order to get the feel of it he sat down one day, and pre-viewed ALL THE EPISODES of the original tv series. He decided that this film will serve, not only as a sequel to the first film, but also as a continuation of the 27th 'STAR TREK' episode from season 1, 'SPACE SEED'. Ricardo Montalbon is once again excellent in his portrayal of 'KHAN NOONIAN - SIHGN' Once again I rate this film with 5 STARS.
