Summary: LOST IN SPACE...LOST ME EARLY ON
Review: Muddy, perplexing, unsavory, dis-loyal...and the retardedlooking cartoon pet monkey is unwatchable. And what in the hell wasthe point in even showing the stupid monkey anyway? Thats when I got up and left. A truly blasephemous reprisal of a minor Sci-fi TV classic. Given two stars only because of the promise and tease here and there. Ed Wood could've done better! HEY! PLAN 9 FROM LOST-IN-SPACE!

Review: VEry poorly written, could have been better! Special effects were okay but needs to be more realistic. Don't waste your money on this one folks!

Summary: Next time, the spaceship gets blown up by an asteroid.
Review: I saw this movie at the late show in Florida at 11:00 PM with about 7 other people in a movie theater. Obviously, the director cared more about the special effects than on the acting provided by the characters. I think a much better ending to the movie (than the one provided) is have the spaceship actually get blown up (for good) by the exploding planet. This would have prevented any possible sequel to this movie.

Summary: Best sci-fi adventure of the year
Review: Lost in Space is one of the best sci-fi movies of the year. Great special effects and a great sci-fi element. Really gives a sense of adventure and wonder as you watch.

Summary: Awesome visual rollercoaster ride; A Sci-Fi buffs "Must See"
Review: This is the first DVD I had bought, and so far it's been a great investment. The special effects and CG from the beginning to the end of the movie has blown me away. I think the producers, actors, and especially the special fx crew did an awesome job. Heather Graham is a fox and I enjoyed her shooting down Matt LeBlanc's (Major West) advances in the movie. Also, having some of the original actor & actresses from the original tv series show up in cameo appearances was a nice touch. This movie is a great tribute to the original cast & tv series. The ending was somewhat hokey, but the special fx and everything else up to that point makes up for it ten-fold. It's the best Sci-Fi flick I've seen since ST:VI - The Undiscovered Country. It's a definite must see for sci-fans who've been starving for special effects, a decent story-line, and of course, action. Starship Troopers & Godzilla sucked, Independence Day, MIB, & Terminator 2 were good, but this is a definite Thumbs up!

Summary: The extra features are better than the movie...
Review: The best thing about DVDs is that if the publisher chooses to use it they can add all sorts of extra features rather than stamp out a movie on a disc. This DVD offers a lot of info on the classic series, including plots for every single episode. I hated the movie, but I bought the DVD for the extra features.

Summary: Something for everyone, even fans of the original series.
Review: This flick has everything you want in a high-tech sci-fi movie! It even pays tribute to the original series by including some of its actors and many of its elements too.

If you like action, adventure, suspense, special effects, great actors, neat story, great characters, this film has it all! The only thing I didn't like about it was that hard rock theme music, but I guess the producers were trying to appeal to everyone.

The DVD has much to offer; a number of featurettes, interviews with the original cast members of the TV series and interactive activities, some of which link to the internet.

Whether you are a sci-fi fan or not this DVD is a great addition to your collection.

Summary: Danger Moviegoers, Extreme Danger
Review: There are many problems with this 90s big screen update of the 60s camp classic sci-fi series of the same name about the first family to go into space in search of a new home for humanity. First, the plot is nothing more than a hammy stitching together of half-storylines from the old TV show. There is very little here that is original. The filmmakers should have begun with fresher, more interesting material, keeping only the characters. As it stands, there are so many stories introduced that the viewer gets only a superficial look at any of them. There simply isn't time to cover this many plots in depth in one film. One area in which the film departs from the TV show is in its use of the characters. While the characters here are the same ones we saw in the 60s, they are somehow lifeless and dull in this film, nothing more than cardboard cut-outs. Gary Oldman, who is a fine actor and has been wonderful in other films, goes nowhere with the powerhouse role of Dr. Smith. On the original series, Smith was played brilliantly by Jonathan Harris. Harris made us loathe Smith and feel sympathy for him at the same time and turned Dr. Smith into one of the most colorful characters in TV history. In the film, Smith is as two-dimensional as the rest of the characters. I watched the original show not for the special effects, which were practically nonexistent, but for the chemistry between the cast members. They were fun to watch. In the film, they are boring and insufferable. Also, the film itself is colorless and washed out. The dismal colors in the film made me long for the bright colors of the old show. Finally, the special effects in the film are some of the worst computer generated effects I have ever seen. They are one step away from allowing the audience to see the blue screen behind the characters. The effects are superficial and insubstantial just like the rest of the movie. My advice is to skip the film and watch reruns of the old show.

Summary: Beautiful visual and great sound effects
Review: I like all science fiction but always expect a good story. This movie is better OK for science fictions lovers like me. Except when the "space monkey" appears, it turns me off completely. It's not even cute, but silly and distracting. This monkey kills the movie big time. Then it starts to get boring afterwards. But still, I truly enjoy the effects on DVD. The sound is superb.
