Rating: Summary: THE MOST INCREDIBLE MOVIE "EVER"! Review: This is not only the best Star Wars movie ever, but this masterpiece is the best movie ever to cross the big screen. Lucas very cleverly re-introduces the characters from the greatest fictional story of all time! I grew up during the first run of the original trilogy and thought that Empire Strikes Back was an unbeatable epic, but no movie has ever captured my attention like the most recent Lucas film. May 2002 can't come soon enough!
Rating: Summary: Amazing Review: This is one of Lucases best films. He has used a lot of special affects to make this one of his best movies.Ratings 1. Return of the Jedi 2.Phantom Menace 3.The Empire Stricks Back 4.A New Hope
Rating: Summary: A gottta see! Review: This is one of the best movies I've ever seen! I won't go into detal because there are plenty of revews allready. My 2 year old little girl loved it as much as my 54 year old Dad did. Lucas is the best writter-director EVER!
Rating: Summary: The Best Review: This is one of the best movies of all time... Magical and beautiful!
Rating: Summary: No matter what ANYONE else says... Review: This is one of the best movies of the year. Sure it's not the best SW movie, but it sure is better than the first one or Return of the Jedi. Of course, all are classics that should be worshipped in the future as movie GENIUS! BTW, you've got to love Coruscant. Beautiful planet.
Rating: Summary: good kickoff for a good saga Review: this is one of the best star wars movies of them all very good special effects pretty good acting went to see it when it came out and got it on tape is soon as it came out some people say that episode 2 is better but its not because on episode 2 theirs no podrace no darth maul no young anakin no qui gon barely any jar jar at the end yoda fights count dooku for about 20 seconds and anakin acts like a spoild little brat i would go with episode 1 rather then episode 2
Rating: Summary: May the force be with you! Review: This is one of the best Star Wars movies that I have seen. I enjoyed the fast paced pod race, the battle between the Gungans and the Trade Federation, and especially the laser sword fight between Obi Wan, Qui Gonn, and Darth Maul. They actually used some martial arts moves in the fight scene. I think it would have been more appropriate if a man had taken out the Starship instead of Anakin Skywalker. Never let a boy do a mans job. If you want to look at a movie with ugly creatures then this one is for you. The creatures on the Phantom Menace will make the creatures on Star Trek look beautiful. Jar Jar Binks is a very silly creature and compared to the others he actually looks better. Overall it is a very good movie and it is even worth buying.
Rating: Summary: Satisfying and very underated Review: This is one of the most underrated films I've ever seen. In Star Wars things it seemed very worthy. It tells the beginning in which how Darth Vader started out as Anakin Skywalker. New characters, and planets were introduced. Also, Jar Jar Binks is quite a character. With him, he's either hilarious or stupid. (I chose hilarous). Lots of original ideas and stunning special effects. Those destroyer droids are a big"wow!". You know, they shot and put the sheilds on. Amazing, how the Jedis, defeated the battle droids, so easy and Lucas must have had fun trying to show how he could show the Jedis destroying them. The podrace was nifty, too, and seemed original in the mountian clashing and those nutty sandpeole trying to shoot them. They were funny. So if you're a Star Wars fan, please see this prequel! It's very worthy! It's amazing, whether it's the gungans satisfying throwing the blast ball things at the droids, or the starting to build C-3PO, it's worthwhile. My only complaint is that it is a bit overplotted.
Rating: Summary: This movie is great! (not) Review: This is one of the worst movies i have ever seen! I didn`t even bother to see the whole movie, ....! Instead i saw BIG DADDY who was much better! I guess the sound and the movie-effects was good, but that doesn`t make it a good movie, does it? No, if you really want to see this movie, rent it!
Rating: Summary: Average, OK, but just OK Review: This is only a movie. So, if you're looking for some hookey entertainment for 2hrs+, then this is the one for you. But, for those who are looking for some quality film, then might I suggest buying something else. Here are the problems: first, the widescreen set: i got perhaps the most boring bit of 35mm film (with that bad pilot with the u-shaped hair). i got a worthless little booklet with no real insights into the mythology of star wars. but, if you are purist, and you want the widescreen, then this is the only way to get it. i'm beginning to associate Lucasfilm with Disney in my mind: both are a bit too money-hungry with their marketing and merchandise. and, now, more importantly, is the problem with the film itself. I suppose that all the criticisms against the film have been made, and so i'll not be adding to them in great detail. But all i have to say is this: you know there is a problem with a film when, on the one hand, the director is so meticulous with the cg characters, but on the other hand can't even decide if obiwan's hair should be either red or brown. the best part of the film bar none is the lightsaber duel, but why is it so short? it's cut together as though made for an audience affliced with ADD. i like jarjar very much, but please, please! next time put in some subtitles. yoda is a puppet. it's a shame because in Empire Strikes Back, yoda felt real. now, he's just a puppet. woohoo... he can blink. big deal. but, it's not horrible. it has its moments. it's just not brilliant. it's main problem is that it's suffering from split personalities. ON the one hand, it's trying to be a throwback to the saturday morning serial, filled with good guys and bad guys. On the other hand, it tries to create a more complex star wars universe by making it more colorful. So, you ask, what's wrong with that? i suppose the answer lies in teh little documentary included in the widescreen tape. nowhere in the documentary does one hear about the magical nature of the STORY. all one hears about is how great computers are. well, i hate to sound like a star wars freak, but that's exactly what A New HOpe was NOT ABOUT. think back to Luke in the trenches. that moment when he chooses to use the force and not to use the computer. Lucas ain't Luke in that respect. And Episode 1 is not like the original trilogy. It's just average. So, go ahead, buy this average tape. I don't care. It's only a movie. An average one.
