Summary: George Lucas Strikes Back
Review: The audience broke into applause when "Lucasfilm Ltd." appeared on the screen and unlike opening day of The Phantom Menace that was not the last time the audience hollered in excitement. Star Wars has returned again within the ATTACK OF THE CLONES. We've all experienced the hype, and we've possibly read the cookie cutter reviews. Most reviewers seem to board the film bash bandwagon with endless variations of "Whiney Anakin", "Wooden Performances" and "Stiff Dialogue". But, one area most of the critics join in their praise is what they call "the last reel."
Within the screenplay by Lucas and Jonathan Hales, we see Anakin and Obi-Wan split heroic duties after Padme, the former queen of Naboo has two attempts on her life. Anakin is deemed her protector, a job the fellah really enjoys considering his long-standing crush he carries for her. On the other side of the galaxy, Obi-Wan is investigating the case, trying to determine who would want Padme killed.
We spend some more time on Coruscant, the planet entirely covered by a bustling city. And here, Lucas gets to create scenes strangely familiar to AMERICAN GRAFITTI fans. We also return to the sands of Mos Espa and Mos Eisley on Tatooine. Here, Anakin is given cause to reveal a bit of a bad boy pushing to get out. We also get a nice vacation on the gorgeous planet of Naboo. Here, love blossoms and grows in one of the more transparent portions of the story. Apart from those locations we also get to explore some new worlds. Obi-Wan gets in a healthy skirmish with the Bounty Hunter Jango Fett while on Kamino, a world covered with turbulent ocean waters. And the final battles take place on the rocky planet of Geonosis. Wherever we go, we experience new, creative life forms but, the story experiences no new major characters with the exception of the Fett and the former Jedi Count Dooku.Gone are talks of midichlorians, immaculate conceptions and Anakin's goal to free the slaves. The greatest pleasure is seeing the connections to the original series start to materialize. Even amidst the huge changes that take place in the story, there are not too many 'Spoilers' to shock viewers, just a roller coaster ride of excitement and action. Threepio and Artoo are united and we know that they will be together for a while. Actually, C-3PO is given some of the funnier moments in this decidedly darker film. Finally, a scene where a little Jedi Master proves why he deserves the title had people on their feet. When talk of a series of Star Wars prequel films came out, I was pretty excited. Not only for what it meant to me as a child, but also for what it meant to me as an adult. Three films in a row seemed to focus on young Luke Skywalker. Now, with the prequel's we see the entire series actually follows the character arc of Young Anakin Skywalker as he turns to the dark side. Then he will be known as Darth Vader, which is Dutch for "Dark Father". In the end, he is redeemed, bringing the entire 6 films full circle. With the first of the prequels breaking box-office records and breaking fans trust, George Lucas has set out to re-capture the force with Episode 2. He has succeeded on most counts. Now, fans are left with material to ponder for the next 3 years.

Summary: Star Wars: Attack of the Clones
Review: The Star Wars series is one of the few that will pull be out of my LazyBoy and put me into a theater seat. In many respects, I was not disappointed by this latest installment in the Star Wars story. The special effects, the non-stop action, and the all-around creativity of Lucas's characters are unsurpassed in the movie world. You think you've seen it all when Lucas manages an even more fabulous landscape or grotesque character in a scene. The threads of the previous 4 episodes are nicely brought together as we see Annekin's growing restlessness with the confines of the Jedi aprenticeship and his hatred of those who have wronged him. We also see the background behind the bounty hunter Buba Fett's hatred of the Republic. In general this was a well-done film and it sets us up nicely for the finale in Episode 3. My main complaint is with the acting of the young lovers, who seem a bit uncomfortable with the wooden dialogue and the strange circumstances. They do not "carry" the movie in the way that Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher did in Episodes 4, 5, and 6. It may be that they take themselves a little too seriously instead of having fun with the movie as the earlier characters did.

Review: How could anybody be brainless enough to say that Episode 1 came close to this excellent sci-fi film? AOTC deserves props for its brilliant gladiator battle near the end, good acting, and fabulous special effects. All the little ingenuities make this a film to remember.

Summary: Mindless Etertainment
Review: My biggest problem with the new Star Wars trilogy is its lack of freshness;... The original Star Wars trilogy is the best story ever put on film, and what sets the original apart from this new trilogy, is story and character depth. Episode I and II has special effects and action to spare, and the climatic light saber dual in Episode II between Obi-Wan, Anakin and Count Dooku and Yoda (!) is quite impressive, it's just that the rest of the film is not, however fans of the trilogy won't be disappointed.

Summary: A strange mix of stilted dialogue and incredible effects
Review: As a longtime scifi fan, I was both disappointed and impressed by Episode 2. The special effects were amazing. I saw this movie in a giantscreen digital theatre, and it did a wonderful job to showcase the computer-generated special effects. Looking at the city-scapes, vehicles, and aliens was worth the price of admission alone. The subdued presence of Jar Jar Binks was also a big relief. His appearances did nothing to detract from the story, and he seemed (dare I say it?) almost LIKEABLE. Storywise....it's not very impressive on its own. The new Anakin gave a sadly lackluster performance, and even Natalie Portman failed to shine as she did in Episode 1. This one's worth watching for the special effects and the end sequence. The fights and creatures make it worthwhile. If you can, try to catch it in digital format and dont expect too much from the story/script.

Summary: Just like being a kid again
Review: I am quite surprised by the reviews written here. This is Star Wars, since when does anyone take a critic's checklist to this movie? Enjoy it for what it is. It really pays to watch a movie like this like you were a kid again. This was full of as much imagination as the original 3 movies and just as much fun to watch. I remember when I was a kid seeing "Empire" for the first time and I felt the exact same way watching this. When watching this movie, remember it is just a fantasy and try not to take it all too seriously. This isn't Shakespeare what Lucas is trying to create here. But it is just a simple fantasy which is a whole lotta fun to watch! Besides, this is Lucas' creation, if you don't like it, tough! I for one thought it was incredible.

Review: I absolutely think that this is one of the best Star Wars movies ever made. As far special effects goes, it is the best. I think that is the reason why George Lucas waited so many years to do more Star Wars movies. The prequals would have required more special effects and the technology did not exist 20 years ago. Yoda surprised me by his Jedi skills. By looking at him he does not look like he could use a laser sword but he will definitely surprise you. This movie was absolutely better than the Phantom Menace. A lot less Jar Jar and sillyness and more serious events happening. The end of the movie was just fantastic with all of the extremely high tech weapons and fight scenes. It makes you wonder how they could make a movie like this. Even people who like romance movies will like the relationship between Anakin and Padme. The only complaint that I have is that the storyline is a little confusing like in the Phantom Menace, but Attack of the Clones is far better.

Summary: Possibly the best Star Wars yet!
Review: I honestly believe that Attack of the Clones is possibly the best Star Wars movie yet. I'll have to wait and see how things turn out in Episode III to be sure. The movie has something for everyone-- a great story, supurb characters and acting, perfect music, and awesome action. What really surprised me though, was how much I cared about the characters as the story unfolded. And did I mention Yoda... I won't give any plot details away, but you'll have to see this movie to believe it.

Summary: 25 years in the making...and not Quite there yet!
Review: Okay, I was 8 when the first movie came out and I remember sitting in the theatre and being transported to another galaxy. Then Empire, the Best of them all came out and I was thrilled. I was finally old enough to camp out for Return and for my trouble was very disappointed with the lack of depth and the stupid ewoks.Well with Phantom we saw a great jedi in Qui-gon and a moderately interesting story.
But here we are with Clones and reading these reviews I just have to laugh! It was a very good movie for Star Wars! I went to the 12:01 showing and enjoyed it thoroughly. I thought the acting was Very good all around and Anakin especially revealed the tormented aspects of his personality.
Yes, the script had some atrocious lines and Padme changing her clothes every two minutes was REALLY annoying. But the romance was very eye opening. If only they could have left the meadow/Anakin riding a giant pig scene on the cutting room floor it would have been very tolerable. Seeing the clone wars begin was great as well as getting to see the emotional dynamics of Obi-wan and Anakin, Anakin and Padme. Really that was what was lost with Return and thank god it is finally back in the story. Hurray George for rediscovering the emotional center of Star Wars! Yes it is definitely worth seeing and I can't wait to see Anakins "journey towards the dark side completed in III"!
