Summary: Nothing to do with the real X-Men
Review: I am a huge fan of the X-MEn especially Wolverine and Colossus. First off the five original characters were Jean,Cyclops,Beast,Iceman, and Angel. Beast or Angel were not in this movie or last and will not untill X3 comes out in 2006 that is the real date. Stryker does not have anything to do with Wolverine at all I do not know where they came up with that. People if your favorite character is now Wolverine because these movies read the comics. Wolverine is the most dangerous mutant on the face of the earth because of master of all martial arts and because of his claws and healing factor. HIs real name is James Howlett and he has claws not because of the surgery but because he is a mutant. In the scene where Deathstrike is fighting Wolverine he is getting beat up most the time in the comics he destroys her with ease. I still do not know where they came up with Stryker having something to do with Wolverine!!!!! COlossus did nothing at all and Rogue who does not show up till the 80s in the comics is in the very first movie and has the main part with wolverine who did not show up untill the 70s along with Storm and Collosus also the girl screaming then who is shot in the neck with the darts is Siryn Banshee's daughter. So many flaws with this movie and the first it is basically X-Men doing entirely different things then in the comics. Oh WOlverine is 5ft no joke and he is alot meaner and more gruff in the comics. Also in the comics he would have destroyed Strykers entire taskforce himself. Really disappointing to me because i am such a fan. Good movie if you never want to know what the X-Men are really like. I would suggest going to tfaw.com and search under graphic novels for WOlverine and X-Men that is good stuff. With all this said I'am still going to buy the DVD just because it is the X-Men. Oh Nightcrawlers mom is Mystique. THe bird thing at the end is the Pheonix if you did not know and in the bar when wolverine is looking at the TV there is a glimpse of HEnry McCoy who is Beast, also on the computer when Mystique is downloading the files you can see Gambits name down. Sorry i trashed this movie but really read the comics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!To many flaws donot know why Stan "the man" Lee Produced it.

Summary: Better than the first movie.. improves on the comic legend
Review: I thought this was a better story than the first. Without the Wolverine character this would be another super hero movie. I can see why there are plans to make Wolvie star in his own film. Hugh Jackman carries the story.

Well, on to my review....with the mutant registration act the government believes the X-Men pose a threat to society. It has a great battle scene when the dark forces of Washington D.C. decide to raid the school of mutants. Wolvie has a few more beserker rages in this one but they are not the gory mess I'd thought they might portray. This film is just like a Chris Clearmont scripted X-Men saga. And I have to wonder why the producers didn't get him involved in the story process.

If it wasn't for writers like Chris Clearmont... and lets not forget artists Jim Cockrum and John Byrne; the X-Men would have never got off the ground in the mid seventies.

Summary: Very good, but not true to original X-Men
Review: This movie was very good, and kept you on the edge of you seat during the whole thing, but wasn't true to the original X-Men at all. One example is, Nightcrawler, Rouge, and Mistique don't show any sign or relation. Doesn't that explain Nightcrawlers skin color to ya?

Summary: Great flick Terrible special features disc
Review: First of all let me say that it's a great movie and the movie disc is OK. It has DTS sound, something I always look for. That aside this has one of the worst special features discs I've ever seen.

No Closed Captions! While I don't have a hearing problem, I sometimes use the captions if I'm watching late at night and have trouble catching some of the comments in the interviews. Especially if the actor has a Brit or other accent. I was under the impression that everything was captioned these days. If I was hearing impaired, I'd be seriously angry with FOX.

No Time Code! Just more proof of how this disc was slapped together. Want to know how long a feature is to see if you want to watch it now or save it for another time? Forget it on this one. The movie disc has time code the special features one doesn't.

Other obnoxious things... The disc has problems switching back and forth between the menus and sometimes sits black for 5 seconds before going back to the menu. It also has an obnoxious and unnecessary music score during most of the features. Do we need to have music while watching a rehearsal of a fight scene? I'd rather hear what the actors and crew were saying.

Lastly the special features themselves are poor. The Nightcrawler one is good but the others stink and one seems to have been made for the 1st movie not this one.

All I can say is it's a good thing this DVD was cheap. They'll probably be pushing an 'Extra Special' addition next year. Buy it for a great movie but expect to be disappointed if you like extra stuff. Perhaps the people at FOX should watch the Lord of The Rings discs to learn how to make decent and interesting features.

Summary: I've Lost Count of the Mutants, But It's A Lot of Fun.
Review: An attack on the President of United States by a mysterious Mutant heightens the tensions between Mutants and Humans and prompts the authorization of an assault on Professor Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. The President gives a secretive former military man named William Stryker (Brian Cox) unprecedented power in detaining and questioning Mutants. Unbeknownst to the President, Stryker has acquired vital information from the imprisoned Magneto (Ian McKellan) regarding Cerebro, which Stryker plans to use to carry out his own agenda against all Mutants. Storm (Halle Berry), Wolverine (Hugh Jackson), Cyclops (James Marsden), Dr. Jean Grey (Famke Janssen), Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming), Rogue (Anna Paquin), and the students find themselves on the same side as Magneto and Mystique (Rebecca Romijn-Stamos) as they race to foil Stryker's plan.

"X2: X-Men United" is the second film based on the "X-Men" Marvel Comic. Whereas the first film spent a lot of time introducing the characters, this one introduces only three new characters: Pyro (Aaron Stanford), Iceman (Shawn Ashmore) and Nightcrawler, and those introductions are well-integrated in the plot. The first film's coherence suffered considerably from all the backstories. But "X2: X-Men United" is able to concentrate its energies on plot with improved results. The story makes more sense and is much more satisfying than the first film. Both films suffer from having too many characters, which sometimes seem to be like so many gadgets, each with its own gimmick. But I think we're stuck with that problem. Director Bryan Singer has done a good job. "X2" is a lot of fun. It may not be as socio-politically complex as the comic books, but it does manage to raise issues of abuse of power, constitutional protections, minority rights, and the politics of fear, if only briefly. The public is told by their leaders and by the media to fear Mutants, and so the public is inclined to look the other way when their rights are violated and they are flagrantly persecuted. Entertaining and recommended, but if the cast gets any bigger, they will need to wear name tags.

Summary: Best summer film of 2003
Review: This had to be the best summer film of the year! Everything (story, acting, direction, effects, etc) were in top form! I particularly love the scenes with Magneto & Mystique...they really camp it up & have a blast. Jackman continues to shine as Wolverine, haven been given a better role this go around that explores not only his rage, but also his snarky funny side. The ending was marvelous & I can't wait to see what transpires with Dr. Jean Grey.

Summary: What a awesome Surprise!
Review: I went to see this movie on a whim after I saw the first one which was a good flick but not like over the top fantastic.

The Sequel is AWESOME! Great Cast (The same with a couple new ones),Awesome Special Affects, and last but not least a really really good Storyline.

This is the type of movie you can go enjoy for the action and the excitement yet still follow a complex yet very interesting story.

I really recommend it to anyone :D

PS - It was 100 times better than Matrix 2 or Matrix 3 for that matter.
