Summary: can never compare with the original
Review: I just think that the original had a lot more suspense than this sequel. This is an ok movie but I was less terrified of this one than the first one. I also think that the actors in the original were more believable in their parts. I just believe this movie to be overrated. Of course that is my own personal opinion. I have seen many movies in my life and I know what scares me and what doesn't. The first ALIEN remains THE BEST. I thank you.

Summary: Forget the other versions -
Review: - just buy this one. Not only will you be treated to the mind-blowing force of this incredible science fiction masterpiece, you'll also be able to see new scenes which add to the action and create much more depth to the film. Sigourney Weaver stuns us all with her portrayl of Ripley, who has been revived fifty-seven years after the original Nostromo massacre to face a planet full of aliens, and a shipful of Marines to stop them. James Cameron develops the original idea with a new class of alien, a fitting nemesis for Ripley as she and the remaining Marines, along with a girl named Newt and a treacherous Company executive, fight to survive. The movie has everything: a race against time, a terrifying enemy, the overall feelings of suspense, claustrophobia and terror mixed with Ripley's furious personality as she faces her old fears. Truly amazing.

Summary: the mother of all DVDs!
Review: this DVD is awesome! the picture is very very clear and crisp, the audio sounds a million times better than when i saw this in theaters, and the extra 17 minutes, very good. i'm glad to see what the colony was like before it turned into a slaughter house, we get to see Ripley's real daughter(well when she's 60 something) and the marine characters are better developed and we get to see them in more action. this is the best of the whole series, yes it even tops Alien(great 20th anniversary DVD btw). and what i love about this movie is the fact that it all ends nice and happy and they think they're safe, and all the survivors are gonna die(Alien 3).

Summary: My best dvd so far.
Review: I own 8 dvd's and this is my most watched movie so far. I had seen this movie on network tv and found the images to be dark and blury. The dvd is crisp, clear, and the sound quality rocks. The extra scenes DO NOT interfere with the overall movie. The acting is first-rate, with Ms. Weaver delivering her best, most multi-faceted performance. The interview with James Cameron is a great added feature and helps illuminate his vision for the film. The last 45 minutes keep you on the edge of your seat. A must DVD buy! Turn down the lights, turn up the sound and you'll love it!

Summary: Best action movie I've ever seen
Review: There is not one action movie that can match the intensity, excitement, and thrill of Aliens (in my opinion). It has great characters, non-stop action , and terrific special effects (as good as most of the movies today). I do not think that the extra scenes ruin the movie, but they are definitely NOT necessary. Still, the movie remains awesome the whole way through. A must for anyone's movie collection (well, any action movie fan's collection; probably would sit too well with the drama fans!)

Summary: The Best Aliens Ever!
Review: This is the best of all the Alien Trilogy. The first was ok, and the third one was just appaling. You should buy the special widescreen video and the soundtrack! And the 17 extra minutes of footage is excellent. Plus I'm glad Paul Reiser's character died near the end.

Summary: ALIENS ROCKS
Review: It might be blasphemous to any ALIEN fanatics out there to claim that this sequel is better, but, for my money, it is. This movie, an adventure-action-sci-fi fright fest, is also populated with interesting characters and a twist on the original plot that makes it almost irresistable -- but remember, this is not a movie for anyone who is in the least bit squeamish. I loved the grand scale and the mother-daughter subtext throughout. The special effects are outstanding, and the thrills keep coming, more and more and more till you think you just can't take anymore, and then there are more. Sigourney Weaver proves she can take on anyone -- and anything -- in the action genre. Perfect popcorn movie, and a great one to own -- I 've watched it several times.

Summary: One of the best sequels ever.
Review: There are, in my opinion, only two movie sequels that were better than the first. T2 Judgement Day, and Aliens. I have to agree with another reviewer that the added footage in this movie does not help the story at all.

I remember seeing this movie for the first time in theaters. Damn! I left, feeling as though I had been on a roller coaster for 2 hours.

The picture and sound quality on this DVD are fantastic. As I said earlier, the extra footage, from a purests point of view, does not help the story at all. Still, this moive is the one to beat!

Summary: One of the Best Movies I've Ever Seen
Review: This movie is for anyone who is in the mood for an action flick with a great story line. Sigourney Weaver plays Ellen Ripley, the sole survivor from a previous encounter with an Alien which wiped out her entire crew. After the Company loses contact with their colony on LV-426, they come to her for aid. She eventually agrees to go to face her fears. She is promised absolute safety by being sent in with a group of high tech Marines. The marines were not prepared for what they found. Bill Paxton (Predator 2) and Michael Biehn (Terminator) round out this cast. This movie is highly recremended for anyone in the mood for some action and a few quick thrills.

Summary: 17 minutes of extra footage...
Review: I love this movie, but the 17 extra minutes totally ruin it. They remove every ounce of mystery and subtlety from the film, and it proves that James Cameron doesn't understand the necessity of an editor (this is further evidenced by Titanic). The reinstated scenes were left out for a reason, and the producers of this DVD should have recognized that and set them off under the Special Features section. Instead we're forced to watch these scenes destroy a great movie. Stick with the original.
