Summary: Sorry but it was bad
Review: The Matrix reloaded is horendously boring. Between the fight scenes there was a real lack of storey. It just wasn't engaging enough. It had no flow, it was just a mess of unexplicable events like a david lynch film in between some extremely overblown action sequences. Keanu's acting was abysmal, lucky he didn't have much to do. Some of the fight scenes and CGI effect were impressive and some were just comical bordering on cartoons (i couldnt help but laugh during the battle in the courtyard with all the agent smiths). The movie just left me completely confused, even more so than the first one did.

Summary: Philosophical Drivel: Reloaded - No wonder only $93m bow
Review: Well the public has spoken and "Matrix Reloaded" did $93.3 million opening weekend at the boxoffice. I'm not surprised that it did not break the magic $100m mark as the film's exposition could be hard to follow for the casual filmgoer. While a No. 1 hit, that's still a disappointment for Warner Bros., which expected to challenge, if not surpass "Spider-Man's" $115m last year. Even Matrix's $93m will go in the record books with an asterix as it included the Wednesday night and Thursday figures, while most films launch on a Friday. Despite the following key shortcomings, "The Matrix Reloaded" was better than the first, for the unbelievably choreographed action scenes, ground-breaking effects and far cooler characters than other superhero or action films. The hipness factor will give the movie more legs than the eye candy, which is a given in summer effects films. However, you needed a scorecard to keep track of who all the bad guys were and what their individual motives were. They just kept dishing out layers of evil dudes.
Plus you needed Cliff Notes to follow all the philosophical meanderings espoused between the impressive scenes of physical and technical prowess. I love a film with an intelligence to its backstory, but I'm there to see a movie, not write a thesis.
And even though I knew it was going to be a "to be continued" ending (the final installment is due in November) it wasn't so much a cliff hanger with a little Act II closure as yet another slightly confusing jumble of villains and philosophy. Fans will love dissecting all the occasionally pretentious drivel, however.
Having said all that, it succeeded in meeting my high expectations for the film, and broke new ground in the mix of Hong Kong martial arts and special effects. I may never enjoy a Jackie Chan flick again. It's hard to be happy on the farm when you've seen the big city.
Oh, one other thing. There was a commercial before the movie that had one of the "agent" characters from the Matrix world pitching a sports drink. Normally I abhor this sort of pseudo-sponsorship as a criminal distraction from the dramatic illusion, as do most filmmakers. However, the content actually clarified the plot line by reminding movie-goers of the films premise that the human body burns 12,000 BTUs of energy, which can of course, be tapped for power -- the reason machines keep human incubated in the Matrix. Hence, the agent points out, you should drink this product to keep up the energy flow. It worked for the movie, but perhaps not well enough for the product, because I don't recall the brand name, nor would I drink it in order to be a better human battery for a computer...

Summary: You need to understand it...
Review: I can't say that I'm a huge fan of the Matrix. So I'm not exactly blinded by the hype and huge expecations, like so many Star Wars fans are ... . Try seeing this movie with all expecations dropped. It makes it a much better experience. The series is in it's own realm... it really has become a phenomenon. For a good reason too. After seeing this movie, you kinda spend the next couple of hours thinking back and digesting everything and you start to realize how fasicanting the story really is. The sequel goes so much further than the first matrix, that is actually overwhelms you. There are layers upon layers of story and I probably need to see it again just to understand it a little more. Specifically, the first 30 minutes drags on a bit, that is true. And the freeway chase scene is probably the most amazing thing I've seen in the past couple of years.
As a whole, the movie surely lives up to expecations... even though some parts could have been done better or left out all together. And the ending isn't as "evil" as some people say it to be. Yes, the movie ends slightly abruptly but at that point it's already been two hours and you kind of assume that in the time frame left, the story does not have enough time to continue. Even if the story confuses or dissapoints you, it would be impossible not to enjoy the action sequences... they're simply amazing. But you knew that.

Summary: Visually stunning (kinda) but a little boring
Review: The Matrix is a action/sci-fi landmark. It's SFX were copied by every action movie and TV commercial. The plot was well-written and the film was paced brilliantly. The sequel promised bigger effects and a bigger story. Well, kids, bigger is not necessarily better. The first 45 minutes of the film are quite boring and the speeches come off as pretentious and unfortunately often a little cheesy. The middle sags as the movie seems to drag on. By the way, what the heck was up with that overly long orgy-like party scene at Zion all about?!? The ending is supposed to be a surprise but it generated a few nervous laughs outta the audience which got more people snickering as they left the theatre. As for the action, it's great especially the chase sequence which is one of the best ever. The fights with Neo however are not that great for one reason -- no sense of danger or fear for the character (good or bad). The first film had the viewers at the edge of their seats for quite a few moments because we didn't know what would happen to Morpheus at the hands of the agents, we didn't know how Neo would escape the Agent Smith, etc. None of that urgency is here. To sum it all, this is an OK action/sci-fi film on it's own. However, as the followup to the first Matrix film, it's not good, at all.

Review: MATRIX RELOADED IS THE BEST MOVIE OF THE WHOLE ENTIRE YEAR... WELL MAYBE MATRIX REVOLUTION WILL BEAT THIS ONE BUT THE DIRECTORS HAVE DONE SUCH AN AMAZING JOB CREATING THIS FILM. THE FIGHTING SCENES WERE JUST AWESOME AND IT BLEW ME AWAY! I LOVE KEANU REEVES BECAUSE HE'S SO HOT AND FANTASTICLY FINE LOOKING. I WOULD GIVE MORE STARS BUT IT ONLY GOES UP TO FIVE. I WOULD RATE THIS MOVIE FROM 1-100, A FULL 120! YES!

Summary: I hate movie makers!!
Review: When I went and saw Matrix 1, I had no clue on what to expect but when I saw it I loved it. I got instantly addicted to the Matrix as soon as I stepped out of the theatre. I went and saw Matrix 2 on the big screen on friday the 16th when I was away on a trip and I just have to say that I hate movie makers. Matrix 2 ends in the perfect way for anybody who got hooked on it. If you loved Matrix 1 and haven't seen Matrix 2 yet, GO SEE IT. But you better get ready to buy the ticket to go and see Matrix 3 as well. Matrix 2 is probably the best film out this year. I think it will win over The Core and X-men 2 over special effects, but I don't think that it will win for the 2003 Movie Awards as the most seen movie. I think Matrix 3 will get that title.

Summary: Thought-provoking, but not as good as the first
Review: I loved the first movie, and undoubtedly had very very high expectations for the second. Perhaps it was that expectation that undermined my enjoyment of Reloaded. I must be honest when I say that the first part which included Zion and the tribal dance was detrimental to the movie. I'm not sure how the brothers could have done it better, but it seemed contrived and out-of-place with the rest of the film. The "Burly Brawl," where Neo fights 100 Smiths, also seemed to come out of nowhere. It was as if it was written in the script: "Exit Oracle and Seraph. Enter Smith. Neo and Smith fight. Exit Neo." The way the plotline flowed, and how the story was integrated with the action, was more seamless in the first film. However, the second half of the film easily picks up the slack. The freeway chase scene left me breathless, and I left the theater in a daze due to the sensory overload. Also, the very end of the movie offers us a sudden twist to the relationship between "The One" and the Matrix, and to the role of Smith as well. Many possible scenarios can be had from this new information, which is possibly why Revolutions will be released so soon afterwards. All in all, a very enjoyable film which gives us new insight to the first movie, although you'll definitely have to rewatch the first one in order to understand what's happening in the second.

Review: This second movie is so awesome! The action is mind-blowing and the special effects are completly amazing, this movie is a must see for people who saw the first movie or just love action movies.
