Summary: How about involving the DS9 storyline?
Review: This was enjoyable, but it could have been so much better. With the Federation/Dominium-Cardasian war currently going on in Deep Space 9, why not bring that into the picture? Worf is a character in both series... he could be the link between the two. The scope of this movie was too limited. Like someone else said, the story was on only one planet. The writers should have shot a little higher.

Review: When I saw the promo for it, I bragged about it each day. When the movie it the box office, I was there. I was not disapointed. I can't wait until the next one. (Hopefully, it will come out in the year 2000)

Summary: not very heavy action.. BUT FUNNY :))
Review: This wasn't the most action filled of the ST movies. but it was by far one of the funniest... Finally we get to see some Picards heart melt. The "witness exploration of humanity" by Data keeps going on funnier than ever before :) and poor Worf :)) This movie is a funny movie with several amusing comments. action fans.. go away.. this one is for the fun lovers.. :) BUY BUY BUY!!! :))

Summary: Would have made a good 2 part TV show.
Review: If you are a trekie, you must see it (of course). But this is not movie class stuff. It's all about a single planet. No saving the Universe. The Enterprise gets attacked and they run! The impulse engines are over worked, and smoke! Picard learns a new trick. He can effect time, or slow down things around him. Maybe he himself speeds up. This new talent is not used. At one point the crew are shooting down small objects, lots of them. This is when Picard should have used his new skill. He could have made Data look bad buy firing 10 times per second, then Data could have said "How the hell?" or something. This new trick does seem stupid, I wish it was not in the movie. Anyway, this movie would have been a good NG TV show! Treker

Summary: New Plot Please
Review: As I watched this lestest Trek installment I couldn't help but think of "Generations". People seem to overlook the fact that these two movies have almost the same script. The cosmetic surgery freak is a lot like Dr. Soren in that he wants to live forever, not caring about what it costs to the innocent people that just happen to be in his way. These two movies have the same "Fountain of Youth" type thing going on. They could have thought of something better for the script. Why not have something about the Dominion with lots of carnage and battle scences. Romance is good too, and I would like to add, I was relieved when Riker and Troi got back together. But what happened to the Picard/Crusher thing, huh? I hope they get out of the "Fountain" funk for the next movie.

Review: I'm not a trekkie, especially not a Star Trek: The Next Generation fan, so I believe that gives me a certain level of objectivity. As popcorn films go, one could do worse than watch a Star Trek film, and Insurrection is a quaint if somewhat vapid voyage. Humor is used plentifully to hide the tedious parts of the plot. Star trek films, more or less, have had good actors playing memorable villains, but here one finds a good actor, F. Murray Abraham, playing a rather dour villain who fancies a good shriek now and again. The fountain of youth storyline creaks with age, as it is, I believe, a science fiction cliche. The Enterprise crew is reasonably amiable, but they seem tired, as if they've been exploring the galaxy for a few too many years now. I did appreciate how the director -- Riker himself -- avoids using mind-numbing action sequences to fill time. The scariest scene: Almost seeing girthy Riker naked! Yes, the Star Trek producers will likely make one last film to say good-bye, but I'll wait for a film version of the superior Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, a wonderfully complex series Next Generation fans love to hate.

Summary: Good Movie
Review: This was a good movie. Not as great as its predecessor Star Trek: First Contact, but has great f/x, and an ok story line. It was time for the producers to add some light comedy to a series that has had 2 previous movies that had a serious undertone to them. I enjoyed it this movie a lot. It also helped to explore the Picard and Data more fully since First Contact. It also showed that Picard has a human heart afterall. It was funny and intense at the same time.

Summary: Moral Dilema, Drama, Humour - Insurrection has it all!
Review: Few people these days allow themselves to think beyond the movie, to think about the concept of the movie... don't limit your brain! Insurrection was a movie for everyone: Trekkies, Trekkers and general movie goers. It combined drama, humour and moral questioning, provoking the movie goings' brain into thinking outside the realm of the storyline. In previous TNG films, the writers have tried to bring in new concepts that (for me) really haven't worked: Data with a sense of humour and Geordie with eyes. This film brought in some wonderful concepts which complimented the tv series, rather than ignored the character development previously defined: look for some fun warbling between Picard, Worf and Data; the relationship between Riker and Troy (it's been bursting to happen for years) and the beautiful scene as Geordie catches the sunset over the village. For the non trekkie, the setting was beautiful and you can imagine this place being a piece of heaven. The direction and filming was good too. Roll on May 6 - Release Date!

Summary: Refreshingly entertaining, but lacking in the fundamentals.
Review: Overall, I would have to to agree with some of the previous reviews of this film in that it was a very "small-screen" production. This film could have easily been on TV with a very humorous plot and even some slapstick comedy (IE Flying the Enterprise with a joystick.) bereft of the usual Star Trek genius in both F/X and plot. This film provided a very different perspective of the Enterprise crew (under the influence) which engendered humor and even some "fairy tale" conclusions to some of the on-going dramtic tangents in the series. While it was "cute", I would have saved it for a special television appearance and not the big-screen.
