Summary: Mediocre Space Melodrama
Review: Give me a break, the only reason reviews here are five stars is because in the title there are the words "star" and "trek". This is a mediocre film with nothing new or inventive. the story line has holes in it so large they can suck up black holes. Cheap gags like acne, mambo dancing, and singing show tunes are thrown in for cheap laughs. If you fans of star trek rave about this film as great - you will only get crap like this in the future. This film bombed in the bocx office after the 1st weekend, so who is kidding who? Another film like this will probably kill the star trek movie franchise so Good luck to you.

Summary: NOT THE BEST FILM, BUT GREAT SOUNDTRACK
Review: Is it me or did Insurrection seem like a cross between Bladerunner and Generations---Musically speaking that is. This film was probably the most inspirational and uplifting Trek film yet, but unfortunately I was dissapointed by the battle sequence that started half way in it. And what on Earth was Frakes thinking of when he came up with the joystick? OH NO!! Overall its a good film but not one to see over again. Now Rick Berman needs to step aside and get some writers who don't write episode type stories to make the 10th film which had better be great and about the Dominion. The only reason Trek has not hit it really big is simply because the writers are way too involved in Trek too much. If they cant get away then let Ira Stephen Behr take over--look at DS9's great plots. Overall, Insurrection's great score by the legendary Jerry Goldsmith was far superior of most other Trek films. I hope he will be in a dark mood for the 10th one with the Dominion. Good luck Star Trek, so far not a bad set of films... just get to a great written Dominion War film. And don't think that all you need is 9 months to make it---use as much time as you need (example:Star Wars).

Summary: Excellent Star Trek film - TV episode feel
Review: This film was critisised right from the start for being a long TV episode. To be honest, I don't care. Rather than the majority of Star Trek movies, which have a 'universe - threatening' feel, this kept it simple and enjoyable.

First Contact was a better film, it has to be said, but this does not make this any less of a film than it was.

True Star Trek fans will, of course, snap this film up. The general public will like it because of the TV episode feel, and all over it's only sufferance will be the complaints that it could have been shorter (hence a TV episode). I disagree. The film was enjoyable from start to finish, and has added to the rapidly improving quality of the ST film series.

I won't be buying the video. But I'm going to catch it on rental, and also when it's on TV. Good fun for all the family (except the plastic surgery bits) - especially Troi and Riker getting a bit hot under the collar...

Summary: I was home again...
Review: There are two types of Star Trek movies: great, and not so great. ANY Star Trek movie is often better than most anything else in the theatre. Star Trek V, for example, was "not so great"; however, Insurrection was "great". Insurrection gave me the pleasures I expect from Star Trek: a good solid Trek story, new races, great special effects, and the appreciated nod to DS9's storyline on TV. I don't rate one series against another, from Classic to Voyager. Insurrection is just another great entry in a continuing adventure of a positive look into our future...

Summary: This movie ROCKS! Although....
Review: I don't believe that it is as good or better than ST:FC, but it's still good. Very creative, I wish there was a little more science on the "slowing down/stopping time" thing though. But it is still a great addition to your Star Trek movie-shelf!

Summary: Star Trek IX(Insurrection) is one of the BEST EVER!
Review: I've been watching Star Trek ever since I can remember, but THIS ONE has to be one of the BEST yet! Wonderful special effects, Frakes did a great directing job, and the story brings out some of the best aspects of the previous Star Trek films ACTION. If you're a DIEHARD Star Trek fan, or just a fan of the Next Generation characters, then this is deffently a must buy. If you're not that big of a Trek fan GET IT ANYWAY, or you'll really miss-out.

Summary: One of the best in the series
Review: Any fan of Star Trek will love this movie, which is one of the standouts in the movie series. The characters are much more human; a lot more humor is used; terrific special effects and a great story. Only downside: Characters are aging and putting on weight. How can an android get wrinkles?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Well Worth Watching
Review: This is most likely one of the best Star Trek productions, even though it follows a commen story line it shows great enthusiasm. Its obvious they spent much time thinking out the science of the problem the Crew of the Enterprise endured. In conclusion this movie is without a doubt well worth watching.
