Summary: It is no Cameroon but it is all Schwarzenegger!
Review: Arnie is back! T3 plays homage to the earlier Terminator movies in many different ways. From the opening scene where Arnie does something with a pair of sunglasses, Terminator 3 is showing us that it is going to do something new - Its going to be funny... and it is! There are moments in this film that are laugh out loud. This could be Arnies best acting to date! Here he is all Terminator but also has this deadpan way of bringing all his one-liners on que with perfect timing. How can you not laugh when he tells someone bluntly that their family has been terminated. Nearly every time Arnie opens his mouth you just got to sit there with your gob open and eyes popping out of your head. Its the TERMINATOR and he is BACK.The story is not all that bad but it does have some problems namely the whole time-travel past/future references. Okay, for hardcore Terminator fans this is probably going to be a duhh??? why??? NO!!!! sort of response but for people who came to see the Terminator you get it in aces with many references to MORE FILMS. Yes, the franchise is alive and kicking. Arnie has said himself that he will be back for many more and the bending of the time-travel past/future references are just there to lay down a few rules that will allow the series to extend that much further. The premise is straight forward. Judgment Day is inevitable and the Terminator has been sent back in time to save John Conner and Kate Brewster from the T-X. The T-X has the ability to control machines which gives her, yes HER, a bit more flexibility (in more ways that one *wink*) than the T-2000. Punctual action ensues and it is pretty much action, action, action all the way in from the first few minutes. There are some downsides to the movie. It is missing the horror of the first and is not as violent as either the first or the second, but it does have its moments. Jonathan Mostow is no Cameroon but this is not a total dud either. If all the sequels without Cameroon are going to be this good then no one is going to complain. It is still streaks and bounds ahead of most other big-budget action films. It does kill the series slightly though by not taking itself too seriously, which the other two did. The other thing is that we where led to believe that T3 was going to be a PREQUEL to the other Terminators set in the future, but it is just another sequel, so RISE OF THE MACHINES is not a very suitable title. If the film started where it ended then maybe it would have been a better choice of title and it is a little misleading that way. All is all, without Cameroon, it is not the disaster we thought it was going to be. It shows that Arnie can still drive the series without his buddy director and Arnie is the reason why we watch this series in the first place. Also Arnie said that if T3 does well then there is a string of other movies that he wants to make but has not because of money. As far as I remember "Crusade" was one of them. Unfortunately he is doing the governator thing now for awhile so the series and everything else has been put on hold. Anyhow lets hope we see more of him and so if you want to see Arnie do the action thing again, then you know what to do. Go see the machines rise.

Summary: Disappointed!
Review: The terminator 3 doesn't have anything special or new surprise. This shouldn've been made. I think terminator and terminator 2 are really good and special, but this movie is just one of many ordinary movies. I didn't want to see the aged-terminator! The machine shouldn't get old, but in reality it was obvious that Arnold Schwarzenegger is too old for the role. He just doesn't have the cold looking as a machine any more. Please no Terminator 4!

Summary: Far From Just Another Lazy Franchise Sequel...
Review: Although there was no way T-3 could live up to the action classic that is T-2, it still clocks in as a worthy installment to the sci-fi series, kinda like Godfather III, but with explosions and there's no bad acting by Sofia Coppolla. There's quite a bit to like here and very few negatives...The most glaring negative is obviously the plotholes from the schizophrenic continuity that exists just by there being a third Terminator film. Everyone who's seen the first two and worth their salt know that by all rights there should be no excuse for a third movie, besides the studio snatching bank for it... That said, the movie really tries to make up for the abyss in the storyline department and keeps the pace up hard and fast through the whole movie and at a trim 1 hour, 45 minutes it never lags or warrants a time check...A great action setpiece involving Schwarzennegger's Termy and the new Termy baddie, the T-X squaring off in a brutal highway chase with so much property getting demolished that it looks like Hulk Vs Superman or something... Director Jonathan Mostow and crew wisely kept the character count down to a handful of important roles and that's about it. No convolution here, folks. It's pretty much one long chase-n-fight with some interesting plot tidbits thrown along the way for good measure... Claire Danes as the damsel in distress (kinda) and Kristanna Loken as the crazy killer vixen T-X both do a great job of making a lasting presence. As for Nick Stahl replacing Eddie Furlong as John Connor, he brings a certain melancholy funk to the character that fits just right with his age and place in the "story". Of course, Arnold is Arnold, so it's not hard for him to 'become' Mr. Terminator and bring back memories of T-2... All of the "suprises" that are revealed in the flick at least sound halfway sensible. The ending of the movie however, is very clever. For some reason it seems predictable yet surprising all at once. Go figure... In short, if you're up for some fun, no-frills sc-fi action fare that wears its action setpiece heart on its sleeve, then by all means check this one out. Even though James Cameron and Linda Hamilton are AWOL here, it's still a nice little action blockbuster. Be sure to look for a cameo from a familiar Terminator series character that'll get you grinning... <...>

Review: This movie destroys any hope that T2 had for brining the series to a better end then this. With it's terrible effects and acting. Terminator has joined Aliens and other big budget sci-fi films has dragging on much too long. What a pity.

Summary: He's Back!
Review: In "Terminator 3- Rise of the machines", Arnold Schwarzenegger (or is that Governor Schwarzenegger?) returns to play the action hero.
Many people think that movie sequels are inferior to the originals. The Terminator series is proof that this isnt always true. T2 was better than the first, and this movie, "Terminator 3" is even better than T2 was.
The action is more intense, and happens from start to finish.
Also, Arnold provides more one liners, some of them cool, some of them funny, providing Terminator fans with a gem of a movie!
What maks this movie so different from many other movies is that a woman is the one responsible for the mayhem and destruction seen in this movie.
It is usually a man wreaking havoc, so it is a pleasant change to see a woman cause some damage for a change.
This Dvd has many features, including an introduction by Arnold Himself, audio commentary that includes Arnold, and a gag real too!
It is an action packed thrill ride, with some laughs mixed in.
I think that you will enjoy it, and will want to see it again and again.

Summary: We need a T4
Review: I thought Terminator 3 was outstanding! To follow Judgement day and still be on the same caliber is unbelievable. I think with the way the movie ended Terminator 4 should definately happen. I really enjoyed Nick Stahl playing John Conner. I mean furlong was fine for connor as a winy 10 year old but as a 22 year old man about to lead a world against machines, he wouldn't have pulled it off. I have yet to get the dvd of T3 but I'm hoping to get it the day it comes out. I'm also hoping for T 4 even if Arnold isn't in it. The way the third movie was played out, it felt as if Arnold was passing the story on to Stahl and Danes. And the two of them were wondeful. And having good old Dr. Silverman in it was even greater. Here hopes T 4 happens. Wouldn't you like to know how it all began. Where Kyle Reece came from. What he was like. How John beat the machines. Terminator 4 I'LL BE BACK to watch

Summary: Give the governer a brake!
Review: A lot of people that I go to school with did not like (pretty much hated) "Terminator 3 - Rise of the Machines". I'm here to say that, despite it's faults, it's a solid action movie. The theme of "you can't escape your fate" is the important message here. Arnold Schwarzenegger is once again sent from the future to protect John Connor (now full grown and "off line"), but now Judgement Day is schedualed to happen tommorrow. Sent to kill him is the ice cold Terminator X model (TX for short). I liked the scenes where T-800 and TX were fighting, it's not every day you see a 100 pound girl throwing Arnold's can all over the screen. It was fun to watch. Also Clair Danes makes an exceptable substitute for Linda Hamilton. I am glad that Edward Furlong was replaced, I thought he made the future leader too much of a spoiled brat, and Nick Stahl made a much more convincing and likeable John Connor, who is caught up in events much larger than himself. Strangely enough, it's Scwarzenegger's performance I didn't care for. Sorry, but he's getting too old for this sort of thing. Also his "talk to the hand" jokes was horribly flat. Lay off the humor. The tone of the movie didn't feel like the end of the world is in a couple of hours, and the lack of scense of urgency hurt too. Basicly, it isn't as orignal a concept of "Terminator 1", it wasn't a technological advancment as "T2" was, but it is a quick, fun way to end the series, with a true feeling of coming full circle now. I liked it, and I recomend it to anyone.

Summary: Not a good movie overall, but a cool ACTION movie.
Review: I dislike the movie overall. It is too much like terminator 2. The graveyard scene, the whole terminator with emotions, and even the car chase is a little like terminator 2. The soundtrack is awful compared to T2, which has the best soundtrack EVER. But the movie does have action. Mabye a little comedy. ACTION thats all that matters in the movie. Everything else is crap, but the action is great. The car chase where the sidewalk and stuff is decimated is pretty cool. There is more action, and some good effects. The problems still. If you are looking for a good movie, forget it. The T-X is terrible. The bad guy in t2 was almost indestructible, but the T-X is killed so easily that she is almost a joke. The whole thought that machines would suddenly switch to a female terminator is stupid. There is the problems I mentioned, but the biggest one is the ending. Well, theres this one part where they try to get into this super secret place but they are not told about the super secret place really. They use this book to find a code which gets them in, yet they were told that the place led them to somewhere else, so how did they get the code for the actual place they went to? I know that sounds really confusing, but when you see the movie mabye you will understand what I mean, not many others did. The ending itself is terrible. Don't expect anything, you have to wait now for T4. WOOOO I cannot wait for that not to happen! No offence, but Arnold is getting way too old for this. I mean you can tell that he is getting older, so it is kind of ruining the point.

Review: This is definately a great Terminator film and did well during its theatrical release. Many doubted it would be worth the effort without the help of James Cameron, but it does hold its own. There is some continuity from the previous films and even leaves a possibility for at least another installment. However, with Schwarzennegger's governorship, this may not be possible soon.

Review: There is a noted similarity between this movie and the second Planet of the Apes movie (Return to the POTA). Each movie is a rehash of the previous, but no longer fresh or as smart. The characters run out of room to escape fate, and the world ends. Been there...
