Rating: Summary: This movie's kinda cool, and weird. Review: Well, the 2nd X-Men Movie: X2: X-Men United is a good movie, but some horrible looks and voices. Im sorry. Well, this is Nightcrawler's first movie apperance, and I didnt hear him introduce himself as Kurt. And I dont remember seeing Rouge eiher. But I did see Cyclops, but I dont remember what he sounded like. Now, I havent seen any of the old X-Men cartoon episodes, but I might. X-Men Evoultion is da coolest thoh. Well, theres these X-Men who like only appear in this movie, like Iceman. I dont know the other one thoh. Well, theres this mean guy who hates mutants and hypnotizes everyone excpt the X-Men. His name's Stryker. Hmm. And, Magneto and Mystique kinda team up with the X-Men. But, Jean Gray dies! Oh no! Still, it is long, but couldve been better, ecpecially with Wolverine.Cute Quote: [by] - Wolverine Well, theyre might have been some better quotes than the bad s word, but I dunno.
Rating: Summary: It's a fun ride except the ending Review: You see... Before I saw the movie, I believe that this X2 will blow it's predecor. And It did. The plot, the characterization, the action, it's awsome. I almost scream seeing how nightcrawler takedown the guard at whitehouse. And my favorite scene, is when colossus change his skin to metal. (If only Bryan (Singers) give him more portion than just a cameo.) As I say in the title of this review, it's a great movie. What I don't feel right is the ending. It's seems like they force Jean Grey to end up being dark phoenix. (they show it a little in the end) But the story didn't strong enough to do so. Let's see... okay, Prof. X is still weak. I agree. But you have Nightcrawler. He can easily teleport and take Jean back to the blackbird. Just like he do before to rouge. If that can't do, don't forget, we have boby the iceman. He can change that whole water into ice in a few second, or at least jean can hold it for him. Uh..., one more thing. Isn't Storm a weather master? Isn't she have the ability to fly? As I put it delicately like "the man" himself, enough said. So in short, ending is weak. They should figure out something better to end the story. Well anyway, we got kelly hu on this x2. And the non-make up of rebecca romijn stamos. So I guess I can live with that not so good ending. Now if only they didn't make lot's of DVD version of this movie. What we need is just one dvd with a hunka extras!
Rating: Summary: What the First Movie Should Have Been Review: "X2: X-men United" is the movie that SHOULD have been put out instead of 2000s X-men. THE STORY: In this sequel, the mutants are faced with an even greater threat. Following a Presidential assassination attempt by a mutant, the community at large, already full of anti-mutant sentiment, begins to call for even greater sanctions against mutant-kind. The X-men are soon forced to join forces with the mutant terrorist Magneto to stop a hate-Mongers insidious plot and to simply ensure the continuation of the mutant race. THE COOL STUFFS: Going far beyond the first movie, even more mutants from the comics make appearances in this movie including Beast, Siryn, Colossus, Shadowcat, etc. The action sequences in this film are MUCH improved from the first one. Making their "major" debuts in this film are Iceman, Pyro, Nightcrawler and Deathstrike. One of the great improvements in this movie is the simple fact that Wolverine is allowed more free reign in this film to simply kick butt. One of my pet peeves with the first film was the amount of "pulling of punches" they did with the violence level. That is not an issue with this film. Wolverine was allowed to go into "berserker" mode and cut the bad guys up in this film. For comic purists some developments in this film include a further look into Wolverine's Weapon X background as well as Jean Grey's Phoenix powers. PET PEEVES: I still take SOME issue with the movie's disregard for the comic's original continuity and storylines. Iceman and Rogue as well as Pyro are presented as classmates at Xavier's. Oh well, the improved action makes up for some of this. Best Scenes: 1. Nightcrawler versus the Secret Service 2. Wolverine and Colossus defending the school 3. Pyro takes out the cops 4. Professor X uses Cerebro 5. Wolverine vs. Deathstrike THE VERDICT: Waaaaay better than the first. This is easily one of the best action films of 2003. Can't wait for the third movie. Highly Recommended
Rating: Summary: X2 - My Review (Hey! That Rhymed!) Review: Hugh Jackman stars in Bryan Singer's new movie, X2. Other cast members of X2 are: Halle Berry, Alan Cumming, Anna Paquin, and more! Hugh Jackman as the mysterious Wolverine, and Halle Berry as the weather controlling Storm. Then there's Rebecca Romijn-Stamos as the very neat Mystique. Shawn Ashmore and Anna Paquin as the lovely couple, Bobby Drake and Marie D'Acanto, or Iceman and Rogue. James Marsden stars as the ever so red eyed, Cyclops, and Famke Janssen as the coolio Dr. Jean Grey.
Rating: Summary: Best Comic Turned Movie Ever! Review: I never had anything to do with X-Men comics or cartoons and I only liked the first one. But this one was INCREDIBLE and I am now a huge fan of both movies! Unlike the disappointing Hulk (bad movie) and even the fragile Spider-man story, X-Men brigs true human issues to the big screen and almost can be taken out of the comic book genre because it seems so much more than that. Don't waste your money on mindless ridiculous movies like Hulk, instead get a movie that you know you will enjoy. THe interaction between the characters is great. Each has something great to do. Women take a fornt seat as Storm, Jean Grey, and Mystique are the major stars of the movie. Wolverine and Magneto play awesome roles and although Professor X's role may be smaller than in the first, it is much more important to the story of the film. The new X-Men just get cooler and cooler, bringing Nightcrawler, Deathstrike, Iceman, and Pyro to the scene. Also, Rogue and Cyclops are back, although with smaller roles, they have their moments. The action in non-stop and fantastic from Wolverine's rage on the school invasion to Storm and Jean piloting the X jet away from incoming missles. THe opening scene with Nightcrawler is not easily forgotten and shows Bryan Singer's true talent. The nemesis is fantastic and seeing the X-Men together in a fragile relationship is a joy to watch. Get this movie! Get X-Men 1 too! Its a saga you won't want to miss!
Rating: Summary: An excellent film Review: [THIS REVIEW APPLIES TO THE THEATRICAL RELEASE... I'm not a comic book fan. Never have been, probably never will be. However, I am a science fiction fan, and out of boredom I saw the first X-Men movie. I was VERY impressed, even though I wasn't a comic book fan. So, when I heard a sequel was coming out, I knew I had to see it. For those of you unfamiliar with this series, here's a brief summary (this review will be more oriented toward people like myself, who are unfamiliar with the comics.) In the not-so-distant future, human beings have slowly began to evolve again. These more evolved humans are called Mutants, and have incredible skills and/or powers. Unfortunately, several people see these beings with fear, and they have become disliked by many. There are two groups of mutants, one that seeks to make the world a better place by resulting to violence only if it's necessary, led by Charles Xavier, and one that seeks to make the world a better place by killing all humans. Magneto, the leader of the latter group, was imprisoned at the end of the previous film. Afterwards, an anti-mutant military man called Stryker began drugging him to get information to create a device that would kill every mutant on earth (his son was a mutant, but he didn't do well in Charles Xavier's mutant academy, so he blames all mutants for this.) With this a third group is added to the picture - one that seeks to make the world better by killing all mutants. And thanks to this, the unthinkable happens. The two groups of mutants must unite to do battle with a more powerful foe. Below is a list of the characters in the film who weren't in the first film, who they serve, and their mutant powers. -Iceman: Serves Xavier. He's a new arrival at the mutant academy, with the ability to freeze just about anything. -Pyro: Serves Xavier. He's a very impatient young man with the ability to manipulate fire. He becomes very fascinated when he meets Magneto... -Nightcrawler: Serves Xavier. A character not in the first film. This guy has green skin, and the power to teleport short distances. -Stryker: The new bad guy. He's a military man who blames all mutants for his son's failure in the mutant academy. So that he can kill all mutants, he orders his men to build a duplicate of Cerebro, the machine Charles Xavier uses. -Deathstrike: Stryker's right-hand woman. Basically, she's the female equivalent of Wolverine. This was an AWESOME film, but it's not perfect. I have two major complaints with it. Complaint One: Imbalance of action. Basically, Wolverine and Storm hog all the screen time, since they're the most popular characters. Pyro, Nightcrawler, and Mystique have their moments, but Iceman sees NO COMBAT ACTION! I wanted to see equal screen time for every character. Complaint Two: The plot is VERY confusing. To quote another review, there is "no time for a bathroom break." You miss even five minute of this movie, you're gonna be left confused. Even if you see the whole thing all the way through, you'll STILL be confused. Put simply, if you're not a fan of the comics (and I'm not), it's gonna be a little harder for you to understand the story. Complaints aside, this is one of the finest films I have ever seen. So far, I haven't seen a movie based on a Marvel comic that wasn't good. Like all other films based on them, this one has a cliffhanger ending. And because this film was so excellent, I can't wait for X3. Final verdict: See this movie if you're a science fiction fan, BUT SEE THE FIRST FILM FIRST!
Rating: Summary: Best movie of the summer. Review: Let me say first off that x2 is 10 thousand times better that Matrix Reloaded!THe fight scenes are great the acting is good for an action movie and overall its probably the best movie of the summer.
Rating: Summary: X2 is awesome Review: This movie is AWESOME. Much better than anything out there, especially Matrix Reloaded. GO SEE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You wont regret it!
Rating: Summary: Hyped! Review: I did like x2 it was good, but not good enough, A lot of people are hyped up about this film so much mainly because of the sound, costumes and "special fx". Yes it was great i love that but there are lots of flaws & bad direction. The director & hollywood should know this by now. When your taking a story from a comic book or any book you should have someone who is professional in adapting stories from books. They know that they should have got someone who is familiar with the legacy of the x-men and is an excellent writer instead of getting a director who has never seen or read the xmen books or watched the animation. The phoenix came waaaaaaaaaaayy too soon in the comic the phoenix didn't come until decades later & it happened in space. What happen to storms blue eyes? The main thing is is that the story revolved around wolverine too much. They made cyclops a punk in this movie when we all know that cyclops is 1 of the most powerful mutants. In the comics cyclops kicks [tail] all around the place. Even "James Marsden"(cyclops) told the director to make cyclops fight more in this film. This Movie is good food without the spices & seasoning added. The best thing in this film was "NightCrawler" & "Mystique. The plot is a little uneven & there's something missing.
