Summary: One of my favorites but...
Review: Great movie...good villian, plot, and slick effects make you hang on the edge of your seat until it's finished. But where's the rare director's cut???

Summary: Mind-blowing action compensates for some corny dialogue.
Review: People generally agree that T2 lacks the apocalyptic atmosphere of the prequel, that it is for the most part a rehash of the original, and that the dialogue is not as involved. Well, there is some truth in that, but T2 has one big ace to play that more than compensates for the lack of originality and other things that make T1 the best sci-fi/action film of the 80's: action.

In less than 6 years, Cameron had proven himself to be a director who can handle large and complex projects. This time, there is no danger of sacrificing quality of the movie because of a low budget. This time, James makes a film that I consider to be the best action of all time (The Matrix comes close, though). Backbone of the story is similar to T1, but to say that T2 is the same as T1 would be a huge mistake: there are many very different things in T2: first, Sarah Connor has undergone a profound change, from an innocent waitress in T1 to a woman who has set herself on a quest to save the world and who suffers for it. Second, we learn more about SkyNet; in T1, Kyle mentions that it is the computer that caused the nuclear war, but no more explanation is given. Simply put, T1 is in its essence purely escapist: Sarah and Kyle fleeing from the Terminator without having any clue how to destroy it. Although in T2 nobody knows how to eliminate T1000, either, Sarah takes on a much more significant quest: to destroy SkyNet itself and thus prevent the dark future from coming in the first place. In a sense, we witness how the hunter (SkyNet) becomes the hunted (a rather unexpected twist).

Having children in movies is a dangerous move by directors because of their general inability to act. However, T2 is a big exception: Edward Furlong gives a very convincing performance (still far from ideal, but great given his age). Cameron wanted us to identify young John Connor with the savior of the future and he succeeded there. He also succeeded in the portrayal of Sarah Connor as a desperate person whose warnings are ignored by the world marching towards a nuclear holocaust. The character of T101 is a little problematic, however. He (it) is supposed to protect John from T1000 at all costs (that is his sole mission). Cameron realized that it is probably not wise to make a character who is supposed to be good one one hand, but killing everybody without mercy and barriers (while protecting John) on the other hand. Of course, it would be perfectly OK, since T101 is a robot, not a human being, so its actions should not be judged by our standards. Such a character would be considered immoral and therefore evil by the majority of audiences. So we have this crap about not killing people because it is wrong and bla bla bla that John tells T101. It is a little annoying, but necessary compromise to makes T101 "more human". Robert Patrick plays his part very menacingly, he is sometimes even better than Arnold was in the original. But good acting is one of the Cameron's trademarks, right?

In T2, much more emphasis is placed on mind-blowing action sequences. Some people complain that all of them are basically chase scenes (well, what else can you do if you are pitted against almost an indestructible enemy?). This is true, but they are incredibly well crafted and diverse chase scenes. Just notice the cinematography, isn't it wonderful? The effects (both visual and sound) are no less amazing and still stand high above today's standards. The introductory sequence where we see humans battling robots is mind-altering as is the part where Los Angeles is destroyed by nuclear explosion in Sarah's dream. The transition from this apocalypse-on-screen to Sarah suddenly awakening horrified is very effective. The score composed by Brad Fiedel is similar to the original's. It is not as dark but still will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up sometimes.

T2 is a dark sci-fi film. It is not as violent as T1, neither it is as atmospheric (partly because it has much more happiness and hope in it). Its script is also much simpler and full of one-liners (some of them good, some of them silly). Parts of the dialogue are too corny (but this is still nothing compared to The Abyss...). T1 does not suffer from those deficiencies. Nevertheless, the dark computer-controlled-future atmosphere that originated in James Cameron's mind is still there.

Summary: Get this movie!!!!
Review: This is a great movie for both DVD and VHS. It reprises the roll of Schwarzenegger this time he is hear to protect the fututre from a better Terminator. This beats the original in almost every way except for atmosphere. Though it still keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Summary: Very Good
Review: This movie is James Cameron's second-best achievement, the original "Terminator" being the first. This movie changed action/sci-fi movies. The movie is indescribable. T-1000 is the most invincible being on the planet, and a cool computer graphics effect. Linda Hamilton takes her frail, hopeless Sarah Connor from "Terminator" and transforms her into a lethal killing machine in "T2." Arnold is very cool as the Terminator, and seems more comfortable as a good guy. The movie has some humor and some dark humor too. I enjoyed it, hopefully you will, too.

Summary: My favorite movie ever
Review: It's been 8 years since I first watched T2, and since then, there still has been no movie better than it. Even with the good storyline in the first movie, it's cool how T2 completed that story by adding and showing new elements, such as Cyberdyne covering up the first terminator's chip and arm, and how skynet gets built. Also, a lot of the catch-phrases from T1 were used again in T2, but not to a point where they got annoying; in fact, they were funny and refreshing. One of the parts I remember best is when Sarah Connor is trying to escape from the institute, and she gets to the elevator, and out steps Arnold. She's terrified at the site of him, because, well if u watched T1, it's self-explanatory. And of course, the special effects were far ahead of its time, and still are better than many effects today. The terminator vs terminator fights are just awesome. I also liked how the movie started out with Arnold still seeming like the bad guy, until he tells John his mission is to protect him. And, did anyone notice that Arnold broke his hand off at the end, and they didn't destroy it by throwing it into the fire? Which means the terminator technology still exists. Looks like a sequel is possible...

Summary: The best movie I've ever seen!
Review: This is the best and the most professionally made movie I have ever seen! As it was released back in 1991 it was far ahead of its time. It remains my favorite one till today! This is just a great movie, gotta get it!!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Spectacular! 99% perfect!
Review: If want to see a truly classic action movie, then this is it! The FX are true eye candy. the storyline is great, and the actors bring it all to life! All they needed was to give the T-1000 more scenes (since he is one of the best reasons to see this movie) and it would have earned a perfect score! A lot of films that are high budget action flicks tend to be weak on acting and storyline, but this one hits every mark perfectly!
