Summary: I'm sorry, this movie is just bad.
Review: Even though I was old enough to have seen the original movie in theatres, I never did. I finally saw it on dvd because the critic in Entertainment Weekly talked about how great the "surprise ending" was.
I'll keep this short. You'd have to be pretty dim to buy into the premise that Heston's character......supposedly a scientist.....wouldn't at least suspect that he might be on earth. There was so much evidence to that effect. So the ending is not a surprise at all. You can see it coming hours away. Aside from that, the movie is just very lame. I had a tough time forcing myself to watch it all the way through. Bad acting, bad dialog, bad plot. Nuff said. You're either with me or against me..:-)
