Summary: Simply put...it's great!
Review: I just got in from having seen the movie and while I was afraid that I'd be let down because of all the hype (or maybe just my expectations), I can happily report that I was not. The movie is good.

When the movie starts, don't start fumbling around with your phone or your other belongings, just keep your eyes on the screen. It starts off with a bang.

From there, the storyline is established. In the first Matrix, it took me a while to figure out what in the heck was going on. I loved it nonetheless, but it spawned a lot of conversations around the water cooler at work as my coworkers and I discussed what we thought the movie's message was. In The Matrix Reloaded, the story is easier to follow - which I found to be a good thing. Granted there's a lot of philosophical bantering going on, but if you listen carefully, you can follow what's being said.

Then there's the action -- and there's plenty of it. Yes, you'll see some of the slow-motion technology from the first Matrix but it is entertwined so beautifully into the fight scenes in M-Reloaded, that you won't be disappointed. In fact, you'll see a good bit of new special effects too. The audience gasped in awe, shouted out their approval, and clapped at what we were seeing on the screen, and we were just half way through the movie! All I can say is "dang, that was cool!"

Then before we could catch our breath, the car chase scene was upon us. I happen to love cars -- always have; and to see a nice new model Cadillac used in the car chase was just so dang nice. The car performed. And then there was more action.

To spice things up a bit, there's also some romance in the movie -- which provided a short respite from the action. It was nice too. Now don't expect a movie with all action. There is a story to tell, and it is being told. The action scenes both advance the story and add some serious eye-candy.

Combine the above with a little humor, Keanue Reeves looking fantastic in all black, Laurence Fishburne showing he's no slouch in the fighting department, and two dangerous twins that I wouldn't want to [make angry], and you've got one really entertaining movie.

The ending slams into you like a brick wall, but it's more of a shock than a disappointment. But heck, since the third installment of this trilogy is coming out in November, I s'pose I can wait until then to see what happens next.

Bottom line, in my opinion, The Matrix Reloaded was better than the original Matrix. Primarily because the story line was easier to follow and because of the new special effects and some serious fight scenes. I can't wait to add this one to my DVD collection.

Summary: An unexpected surprise that makes leaps and bounds
Review: Not being a huge fan of the original film, I usually find the story to pick up indubiously when we get to the next chapter. In the case of a trilogy, this has held true for Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, Back to the Future, and again in Reloaded. Typically, it continues the story that was established back in 1999, while delving further into a complex system of rules that will both enhance the movement of the film, and bog it down. Being careful as to not spoil it for people, I'll just say that it left me with my mouth a gap. The movie is filled with unexpected plot threads, astounding special effects, and hands-down the most ambitious display of action sequences and martial arts ever to make it to the screen. As the rising action in a three-part story, it takes everything experienced from The Matrix and expands on it tenfold, making the original seem like a testing ground in comparison.
One could argue the point that, like many overly-hyped motion pictures, it's all about the effects wizardry. The story digs deep, continually revealing the hidden myths of both the Matrix and the Real World without hitting you over the head with tons of information.
And yet, a movie of this magnitude, in which its $150 million budget shows like a woman in a red dress surrounded by Agents, does have its flaws, which as little as they are, severely hindrance a terrific movie. It assumes that you've seen the first film, which is fairly obvious, but doesn't take much time lingering on the down time that separates The Matrix from Reloaded. It immediately introduces us to locales and characters that, while they may have been referenced in film one, will completely blow you away without giving you prior introduction. The story simply launches us into this "bigger" world and expects us to completely understand its part in the story, without giving an explanation as to what's happened since Neo found out he was The One. It's difficult to complain about the fighting sequences, because they are vastly unique and keeps you on the edge of your seat, something most modern-day action flicks fail to do. However, a lot of the time you're left wondering what the stunts have to do with the story. A particularly interesting sequence, what fans will come to know as the Burly Brawl, looks amazing, but serves as purely a side-story. Even if it has anything to remotely do with The Matrix Revolutions, in this film it didn't really have a place.
Here's my final spin on it: it's a sequel that will both live up to fans' expectations, and quench their thirst until The Matrix Revolutions is released. If you go into it expecting leaps and bounds over its fairly low-scope predecessor (low-scope by the terms set in this one, at least), you'll be presently surprised. However, believe it or not, any flaws that were found in the original will reoccuringly pop up here, and it definitely takes a departure from the "tame" first movie, meaning both in the scope of its effects and the unraveling story. 3/4 of the film will more than likely leave you where I was, walking out of the theater with your mouth simply a gap. But there is also a small fraction that will leave a bad taste in your mouth. The best part of the film is its originality and rollercoaster nature; the worst part of this complex series is the continually unresolved pinholes that litter it like trash at a ball park. But with a movie of this nature, if you can visualize the essence of that analogy, may not be a bad thing.

Summary: Please calm down people
Review: Well, this movie has so much hype, it is almost impossible to EVER live up to it's high expectations. For the few people who caught a preview screening of this movie and claimed it was lacking, don't listen, but please calm down with the hype, this movie isn't the most incredible creation to ever grace the earth, like everything, it has its flaws.

Of course, the special effects were incredible, the fight scenes took my breath away, most notably the fight that you may know from the previews in which Neo battles hundreds of Agent Smiths, it was simply amazing.

Fight scences and eye candy aside, there is also the question of whether this movie amazes us with it's crazy and very deep story line. Now, I had very high expectations too, but about half way through the movie, I realized nothing could ever achieve what people wanted it too, so stop being so greedy and chill out. But still, (I am going to try not to spoil) this movie brings a whole other concept to the movie, and after I analyzed this idea for about 20 minutes after the movie, I realized that I was just as impressed with this movie as I was with the first. At the same time, its a lot to take in and is nothing like what anyone is expecting.

So, in the end, I have decided that I liked this movie very much, the fight scenes were great, and after I finally concluded the concept of this movie, it has another incredible plot to accompany kick [butt] kung fu. Then there is of course the killer cliff hanger of an ending, I guess we'll all just have to wait for Matrix Revolutions. Just remember that this movie is not the perfect and most incredible creation that execessive hype has put it out to be. So just calm down, chill out, and enjoy the show.

Summary: This Movie is Awesome
Review: I saw this on opening night and it completely blew me away! I have been thinking about it ever since. All of the actors do an amazing job, and of course you already know how great the special effects are. I don't think that I caught my breath once during that amazing highway chase scene. That is without a doubt going down in history as one of the greatest scenes in movie history. The freaky ghost twins and the Key-Maker were great new characters, although I thought Persephone and her husband were kind of annoying. This movie is more exciting and more suspenseful than the first, and the cliffhanger ending will have you dying to see The Matrix Revolutions in November. Believe the hype about this movie, it actually deserves it!

Summary: Impressive, but does it top the original?
Review: I went to see Matrix Reloaded yesterday and for the most part it is a good movie. The first matrix amazed audiences with its special/visual effects and I have to agree that Matrix Reloaded has quite a bit of good special/visual effects which is why I am giving this movie a 4th star. Now on with the plot: The first matrix gave us an interesting as well as somewhat complicated plot. Still, the complicated plot managed to fit the Matrix perfectly. Now as far as Matrix Reloaded, the plot starts from being complicated and goes on to not making much sense come near the end of the movie. Also, there are more characters in Matrix Reloaded but not many of them are made very known. Some things in this movie are just flat unexplainable which makes me wonder where the story is going. Am I critizing the plot? Only to a small degree, but let me say that you really need to see the first Matrix before seeing Matrix Reloaded. Otherwise, you will be completely lost from beginning to end. As far as comparing the Matrix and Matrix Reloaded, the sequel doesn't top the first one in my opinion but the movie is good for what it is. While Matrix Reloaded has plenty of action sequences it somewhat fails to keep the suspense of the first Matrix. I will not reveal any spoilers but keep in mind that the ending of this movie will lead right into the 3rd matrix movie which will be titled "Matrix Revolutions". Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions are actually one movie split in half.

Review: Not quite as good as the first, but we can't expect that. It was still a fantastic movie. The special effects were beyond the imagination. Yes the fight sequences were long but I found myself watching this movie with a big smile on my face. Another huge success, and i can't wait for the next one.

Summary: Negative Stars.....
Review: I was really looking forward to seeing the new matrix movie. At the end of the movie, all I could say was "huh?" The only good thing about this horid movie was the special effect....but even that got tired fast. I wish I could explain the plot, but I had no idea what was going on.

It would have been nice to know who the bad guys were and where they came from. They had guys that vanished (much like Nightcrawler from X-Men) and could move through solid objects, but we learned nothing about them. Then there were about 1000 Mr. Smiths....how did that happen? It was never explained. Mr. Smith, could also do something else (cant' say, dont' want to spoil it) but it was never explained either.

Hey, I have an idea. Cut back on the special effects, and put that money towards a better plot, it makes it much more interesting for the viewer.

This movie has left such a sour taste in my mouth, I have no disere to see the next one. If you want my 2 cents, skip this movie, you wont' miss much. Unless you want a movie that's all special effects and no plot, then by all means, this is for you.

Summary: Faith, Hope and Love
Review: The distopian, futuristic vision of the Wachowski brothers continues in the, action-packed, if Mobius-strip plotted, Matrix Reloaded. The primary cast of characters are back, with the triumvate, Morpheus, Neo and Trinity hard at work in the real world overrun and controlled by the machines and in the illusionary world of the Matrix created to enslave mankind.

Just months after the events of the first story, our heros find themselves fighting their old nemesies in both the real world and in the artifice of the Matrix. Most aptly personified by the evil Agent Smith, the machines are up to some new tricks and in an act of apparent desperation have unleashed an army of Sentinnels which are burrowing their way to the earths core to destroy the last remaining human city, Zion. Determined to save Zion from the impending threat, Morpheus seeks out the aid of other counsel hovership pilots including his old flame Niobe, played by Jada Pinkett-Smith, in order to mount a defense. The heros are also trying to locate the Oracle to gain any knowledge she might have that will help preserve mankind. In order to do this, they have to overcome the internal politics of the counsel as well as the ubiquitous evil Smith.

Neo, who is now becoming aware of his unique gifts, must come to face the nature of the truth about himself and the nature of truth itself. Seeking the answer to the riddle of his dreams brings him face to face with some new baddies in the forms of the Twins, Merovingian and his lovely bride Persephone, played by the stunning Monica Bellucci. Not unlike taking the red pill, finding the truth will require executing a choice which might result in sacrifice and loss.

Morpheus must come face to face with the reality that will shake his faith. Neo will have to seek out hope despite the terrible foreboding of his dreams. And Trinity will have to decide whether to keep a promise or risk it all to preserve the future. Ultimately, as always, the greatest threat to the mankind's future lies much closer than we remember, it lies within.
