Summary: yes give me just enough to want to see REVOLUTIONS please
Review: I was in my seat on the fifteenth just like millions of other drones ready to gorge myself on steak never thinking it might be dogfood, and I never knew the difference. I really have to start with what I was not happy with. There is a very randomly inserted fight sequence right off the bat that seems very "we'll give you some violence and send you off into the plot development fully sated." After that begins the numerous awkwardly emoted lines of cardboard dialogue that fill the first hour. Primarily I despised the entire "geothermal rave" sequence. It begins with Morpheus delivering a completely ridiculous performance during his inspiring speech. Let's show those robots by having an orgiastic good time. His charcter gets to have some of the best action moves in the entire film, yet his dialogue is too flat. We don't see that same compassionate, human Morpheus in this one. The addition of the guy from OZ presumably for the comic relief was not needed. His interaction with his wife doesn't add anything significant to the plot. His role as the operator could have been more subdued for better quality. This brings me to the invisible love triangle between Niobe, Lock, and Morpheus. I believe this to be a superfluous story element as well. It simply was not necessary to the plot and only served to present a few brief moments of awkward emotions. Now I'll speak of the ridiculous insertion of a non-shapehifting lycanthrope that can be killed by silver bullets. This was just jarring information to squeeze into an already complex story idea. I like how they introduce rogue programs as a matrix concept, but why a ... pseudo-werewolf? The ghosts were executed well along with Seraph. The foppish merovingian was also a tad over the top (as intended I'm sure). Now what I really liked.
The "burly brawl" while hard to see at times was an FX feat of epic scale. Also the brief altercation between Neo and Seraph was decent. Morpheus on the truck was possibly my favorite moment in terms of fights. Cornell West was a delight as the councillor who talks to Neo about the symbiotic link between humans and machines. The oracle sequence furthers the philosophical idea of the matrix very well. Later in the film is a scene of great self-actualizing philosophical significance for Neo. I don't really want to give everything away here you understand.
Basically good philosophy and martial arts. Bad moments in script writing. I don't know really I'm just a coppertop like everyone else anyway so my opinion is rather redundant. Just enjoy what you can. Revoultions should be really spectacular.

Summary: No screenplay, disappointing action scenes.... My God.....
Review: The original idea, in the first Matrix, was great, and so was the first movie, but the directors waste it to bring us a terrible "thing". There is no screenplay at all, and even the major quality of this second movie, the action scenes, are too long and become boring. That's the main problem : the first "Matrix" was great, because it shows us new travelling perspectives, like the bullets in the air or the fight of kung-fu. The second movie has them too, but without any idea how to coordinate them, how to make them interesting again. So you have kung-fu fights again and again, always the same, and that become quickly useless.
Why, by god, didn't Mister Smith have the same big importance as in the first one ? He appears briefly, and gives the "bad
guy" role to Lambert Wilson, who is really ridiculous ! Keanu Reeves moves from Neo the man who becomes a fighter to a stupid superman who flies through the Matrix...
In the end, the dialogs bring nothing to a non-existent story, which is interrupted by too long and repeating action scenes. A terribly disapppointing movie. The Matrix in its worst performance...

Summary: A upgrade of the original
Review: Note: No plot or spoilers " you have to see It for yourself".

I went and saw It just yersterday at the theater and was just blown away from what I saw. The fight sceens and non-stop car chases were unbeleivable. The main characters Neo,Trinity and Morpheous were more developed and complex. The fight sceen where Neo takes on 100 replicants of Agent Smith was very well put together and was jaw-dropping. The 15-min car chase has to be one of the most car chases are put on film. The story and plot goes even more futher down the rahbit hole than expected and goes far beyond away from the first film. Their have been mixed reviews on the sequel alot people thoght it surppased the first and some think it wasn't anywhare as good as the original and was completly overdone. I strongly dissagree the filmmakers Larry and Andy Wachowski realy raised the bar on this one and have alot more as the story unfolds with The Matrix Revolution comming out in november the third final part of the triligy that finish telling the story. Those who have not seen The Matrix Reloaded and are true die-hard fans of the original will be not dissapointed in a sequel that a Tour De Force original that amidiatly became a ultimate classic. Note: Stay after movie credits to see the Trailer of The Matrix Revolutions comming in november.

Summary: A roller coaster ride...with some problems...
Review: Having just seen "Reloaded" yesterday, I still feel like being taken on an interesting roller coaster ride. Without giving away the plot, here is what you get...

Most of the acting is pretty monotonous. Are all the actors infected with an "Agent Virus"? If there weren't any visual point of reference, you wouldn't know who was talking. Gloria Foster as the oracle and Anthony Zerbe provide to most substantial personalities. As for script, I got the impression that a thesaurus was used to find the biggest words possible! (What's a fancy way to say "This sucks?")

The CG ranged from very good to obvious....hair raising to Nintendo.

And the "Grotto" scene....starting with Fishburne's MLK Jr. speech that builds into an uninhibited mass orgasm intertwined with Neo and Trinity going at it all accompanied by a blaring and very long lusty soundtrack wasn't necessary, although it did eventually come to a point.

Basically, it's one heck of a good movie with an occasional dose of great humor in a dark world that takes itself a tad too seriously. But definitely a must see!

Summary: The Matrix: Reloaded
Review: The Matrix Reloaded; even the title catches viewers. You expect an action-packed film with new characters and plots. You are right--but not completely. After seeing this film, many thoughts buzzed through my mind. There is so much unnecessary scenes and dissapointing things. Yes, it was cool. There was much action and kung-fu and stuff. But, there was also a subsequent amount of hard words, such as inevideble, or computer language. The movie also moved to fast. It was very hard to understand. Many things were not understood. I think I will have to see this movie many more times before understanding and liking it. It was a giant dissapointment for me and my brother. We hope to understand it soon. If you want to see this movie, wait until it comes out on tape or dvd.

Review: I give this movie less than 1 star. Ladies...if you don't want to see one more car chase, fight in the air, explosion, futuristic, metallic setting, black sunglasses, etc.....DO NOT ENTER. i.e this is just another plotless, "man movie". I liked the first Matrix. I had to watch it a second time to confirm that that was true. Reloaded is more than disappointing. If Hollywood deems it necessary to keep making these silly movies they ought come up with a new Rating..."MM" for Man Movie.

Summary: Wait for the DVD release.
Review: Ok, first off the first 40 minutes were a waste of my life. Nothing happened that had any substance whatsoever except to annoy the you-know-what out of me. I guess it was supposed to explain the plot, fine but it could've been explained in one sentence and saved me the agony. And what was with that tribal/rave dance? Don't get me started there but If i were editer...CHOP!
Next, Morpheius had zero character in the movie, no wit, no nothing - except if you count his countless wordy monologues as something other than pointless.
Can somebody explain why the French dude( who was another pointless character)locked the Keymaster up and gave him key making material so he could make keys while imprisoned? And if he were the keymaster, why couldn't he just make a key and unlock the door? Now that I have vented...
The action scenes were incredible and enjoyable, i'm not going into details. but they did save the movie from being a total turkey.

Summary: Matrix Recycled
Review: Matrix Reloaded is certainly the most anticipated movie of the year alongside X-Men 2. Somehow, I walked away from the cinmea feeling the same way Idid after watching Star Wars last year - baffled.

As a movie, it definitely has almost all the right ingredients. Admittedly, the special effects are superb and astounding. I can imagine the number of hours put into creating each complex sequence, but very often, this selling point of the movie is stretched too far. Sometimes, the action sequences drag so long that you wonder if they are ever gonna end (no matter how spectacular they are). It is at times like these when the movie actually lapse into a momentary piece of overplayed action movie.

The storyline of Reloaded is also slightly weaker than the first installment. It is hardest to relate to the love scenes between Carrie Ann Moss and Keanu Reeves not because of the acting but rather its place in the movie. It is simple irrelevant and I would say the chemistry between Reeves and Moss, is seriously lacking. The last 15 minutes of the movie saw Reeves' character talking to the SOurce. I can only guess that 90% of the audience didn't quite get what was conversed between the two.

In the end, I think the movie is mostly hype and people actually watch it because of the action sequences and special effects which can be entertaining but repetitve at times too.

Summary: Not as good as the first
Review: The expectations of The Matrix Reloaded had been set when the predecessor shattered records in 1999 to become the top-notch sci-fi movie. The idea by Wachowskis Brothers of setting 22nd century reality as a high-tech computer programme known as the Matrix with mankind serving as batteries remains lofty. The sequel centres on Neo (Reeves) fulfilling his destiny as The One by Oracle's prophecy to rescue humanity from being enslaved by the machines. 72 hours are left before the Machine and its sentinels invade City of Zion; Neo together with Trinity (Anne-Moss), Captain Morpheus (Fishburne) and Niobe (Pinkett-Smith) have to get across a pair of dreadlocked twins (Rayment Brothers) and siren Persephone (Belluci) and her unfaithful lover Merovingian (Wilson) to find the KeyMaker and advance to the door leading to the source of the Matrix. Matrix Reloaded is full-fledged action with Agent Smith (Weaving) replicating 99 clones of himself for the tussle with Neo along with spectacular sequences of Trinity pursued by the Twins and Morpheus battling on the top of a wheeler truck. The enhanced thrills are painstakingly choreographed by Yuen Wo Ping and embellished by John Gaeta's eye-popping visual wizardry. Matrix Reloaded would have been better if not for the flat dialogues and the confusing exposition during the meeting of the Architect. It lacks the intelligence brimming in the first even though it becomes a slicker and more confident vehicle.

Summary: Enter the matrix... or not.
Review: After seeing the first Matrix, I was ready for an excellent sequel to a fantastic movie. I was let down in several ways, but was not let down in others.

First off, the entire 'style' with which the first film was made has changed. The fight scenes are definitely much better, using quick blasts of the'bullet-time' effect to leave you on the edge of your seat. However, the way in which the story unfolds and how it is told are extremely different from the first film- leaving me confused. Had I not seen the credits, I would have left wondering, 'Did the original directors really make this'? That's not to say that the story-telling in this movie is bad- it's just different.

Second are the fight scenes. Simply masterpieces of film-making. Not even the last forty minutes of Episode II: Attack of the Clones can match them. Usually in a movie, you know right off who is going to die and who isn't. The fight scenes change this considerably- the amount of peril the characters are in really made me think several of them were going to die who didn't. I expect the third chapter (Revolutions) to continue this fantastic trend. And for fans of the first film, the revolutionary 'bullet-time' effect is also used in this film.

Probably the last thing that I would like to mention is the movie's length. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed this movie, but about half an hour needed to be cut from it. I saw at least three different places in the last twenty minutes or so that, if stopped, would have been an extremely exciting place to put 'To Be Concluded'. But instead, the film makers annoyed me by making the movie long enough that I wished it was over by the end. No big surprise, either, where the film stopped with only the words 'To Be Concluded' on the screen.

So, the deciding factor- is it better than the first Matrix movie? Well, you'll have to decide that one for yourself. I think the two can stand side-by-side as two of the greatest science fiction movies ever created, and can also stand alone as two extremely excellent films. I would give both films the same rating: a 9 out of 10. Go see it. Whatever your thoughts are, you will definitely enjoy it.
