Summary: Sweet Godzilla
Review: I will tell you about both movies:Godzilla Vs. Space Godzilla: Created from the cells that Biollante shot into space, Space Godzilla forms and heads towards Godzilla and his son. While a madman tries to take down Godzilla by weapons....Space Godzilla and Godzilla clash, while a super robot tries to help the King Of Monsters to defeat the invader from Space! Godzilla Vs. Destroyah: As Godzilla's body starts to meltdown, scientists beleive they only have limited time, untill Godzilla's meltdown destroys the Earth. In the meanwhile a type of chemical monster forms....Destroyah! As the monster causes damage in Tokyo, it seems the only way to stop Godzilla from destroying Earth is to put a device known as the Oxygen Destroyah in the water, which will destroy Godzilla. But as Godzilla fails to defeat Destroyah...his son Godzilla Jr. takes hold of the battle!

Summary: Buy it for Destoroyah
Review: Vs. Destoroyah is the movie to buy this DVD for. It is well done and one of the best of the Godzilla movies to date. Cool monsters and their reason for being is explained as well as any sci-fi creature has ever been explained. On the other hand VS. Space Godzilla is ok but a bit silly in the way he gets to earth and as for Baby Godzilla...what a joke. I kept hoping Space Godzilla would kill him but no such luck. The only good thing about this one is that Mothra has a brief appearance along with some Fairy Mothras and the Cosmo twins. Five stars for Destoroyah and Three for Space Godzilla.

Review: Well I have to admit, this is a pretty cool movie, but I always thought their just something about that made seem less serious and more childish. I finally figured it out, it`s the cheesy lines, but still, it`s a good movie.

Review: I am true godzilla fan so I know alot about godzilla.This is the best film because the action is hot and the special effects are chillin! Also the ending is sad and special. Destroyah is my favoritest godzilla enemy.This is also the best out of the heisei series. The craziest thing about on the DvD is that it's a double feature with godzilla v.s spacegodzilla! The worst out of the heisei series with the best that's bad combo. What would be better is if godzilla v.s mechagodzilla 2 with godzilla v.s destroyah on DvD, but they don't have it. I have it on vhs which is better. godzilla v.s mehagodzilla 2 is the second best. This got 5 and a half stars on a average customer reveiw. Are you kidding me? This gets a pure 5 star. Summary: The Best of the New Generation
Review: People may read these reviews and not believe that they are for Japanese Godzilla movies, but these are great films. Keep in mind that the links between the movies are thin and they apparantly are not always intended to be part of an ongoing storyline although elements do continue through them. That said-sit back and enjoy some great entertainment! The eco-friendly slant on all the new Godzilla (and Mothra) movies makes them make you feel warm and fuzzy even during the destruction of countless Japanese urban areas. The tear that comes to your eye in Godzilla vs. Destroyah when Godzilla is mourning the loss of Godzilla Jr. is a true surprise, the ending sequence (about 20 minutes) is classic and should not be missed.

Summary: Finally!
Review: Why do I say finally? Well, just look at what Godzilla had become before this new generation of Big-G movies popped up: a cartoon charcter. In the seventies Godzilla had done everything from arguing with Anguirus in "monster language" (*holds back bile*) to flying through the air using the power of his atomic breath. In fact, the only thing I liked about the middle generation of Godzilla movies was Gigan, an excellent monster and the saving factor of "Godzilla on Monster Island" and "Godzilla vs Megalon".
The newest series of Godzilla movies, which started with "the return of Godzilla" was definitely a big step up in my eyes. It once again re-instated Godzilla as a gargantuam, villanous monster of terror rather than a cartoonish goofball. Of this generation of movies, "Godzilla vs Destroyah" is by far the best.
Usually my main concern with a Godzilla movie is the monsters, not just their design but also their personality.
Destroyah, the villian, is breathtaking. Just compare this guy with the ridiculous Megalon or Hedorah. Destroyah is far more detailed and thought out. Derived from tiny arachnid micro-organisms mutated by the Oxygen Destroyer (the weapon that killed Godzilla in the orignial film), Destroyah goes through a number of forms, something that may seem overdone in the Godzilla series but is done very well with Destroyah. Starting out as little nasty creatures, the Destroyah monsters go on to become two meter tall spider like beasts. These guys duke it out in a building with some marines in an impressive battle that reminds me of Starship Troopers (but not as gory). The man sized monsters then combine to form into a giant version of the spider beasts, then transform into a flying gargoyle, and finally reach the final stage of evolution. At four-hundred feet tall and sporting giant bat wings, a deadly horn, and covered from head to toe in thorns, Destroyah is the baddest monster the Big-G has ever had to face. Personality wise, destroyah is thankfully a monster bent on destruction rather than appeasing a crowd of six year olds looking for humor.
Godzilla in this one looks better than ever. Thanks to an overdose of radiation he is glowing red with eyes that match, and he's still mean as ever.
The plot in "Godzilla vs destroyah" is well thought out and doesn't echoe the classic, campy stereotype Godzilla plot where aliens send monsters down to destroy earth. This story is far more intelligent.
Basically, I admire this movie because it echoes the dark, apocolyptic feel of the first movie.
Now all thats left is my ideal Godzilla movie: a giant monster battle between King Ghidorah, Destroyah and Mechagodzilla II vs. Godzilla, Anguirus and Rodan. Come to think of it, that would probably turn into something laughable like "Destroy All Monsters". (*Shudders and plops Godzilla vs Destroyah into the VCR*)

Summary: Godzilla is Dead! Love Live Godzilla!!
Review: This bewildering title explains the story very well. Godzuki finally grows up to monsterhood while his Dad gives his life to protect the earth.
It is the finale in the modern series before Godzilla 2000. Destroyah is the most evil of Godzilla's opponents, bent on destroying everything and he is the equal to Godzilla. But Destroyah does not kill Godzilla. Rather Godzilla's heart finally gives out. Godzilla, Jr. makes his appearance trying to defeat Destroyah before Godzilla, Sr. arrives. It reminds me of a teenage son trying to proves something to his Dad. While most of the movie is dark, it ends on an up note.

Review: Let me tell you that I am very appreciative to Tri-Star for making these films available to us Godzilla fans here in America. I am still waiting for Godzilla Vs. MechaGodzilla ('93) (The Return Of Rodan - Yes!!!) to hit DVD. Both of these films have excellent pyro effects. In the early 90's G films, Toho Productions still refrained from using computer generated effects. It was all done on the sound stage. Godzilla Vs. Space Godzilla has an awful script. It also makes he mistake of turning baby Godzilla into a wide eyed comic relief critter ala: Minya. It might have been a good choice for selling toys to kids, but the fans that I have talked to agreed that they did not like it. Space Godzilla is an impressive villian, with his Godzilla look and massive crystaline shoulders. He saves this picture from being downright bad. Godzilla Vs. Destoroyah is the real bargain here. Buy this DVD
just for that movie if you have to. The opening with Godzilla attacking Hong Kong is classic. His fire breath now out of control, he just destroys everything. It is the best idea, the writers have come up with in ages. Destoroyah is a formidable foe, unlike the last two (Did anyone think that Orga had a chance in Godzilla 2000?). The baby Godzilla looks real again, and the end is inspired. True fans will invariably put this in their top three favorites. i know they will watch that opening scene again and again and again.

Summary: 5 stars are not because of Space Godzilla....
Review: It would probably be better for most people to just skip over the Space Godzilla portion of this DVD, as it is the absolute worst godzilla film ever made (next to the American version of G2K). The 5 stars in this review refer strictly to to wonderful widescreen (as opposed to the full-screen VHS) presentation of Godzilla versus Destroyer, the conclusion of the Heisei series of Godzilla films (which began with the film Godzilla 1985). In it, a giant nuclear explosion has destroyed Birth Island (pronounced Bas Island in this version, but oh well) and has greatly increased the nuclear fission inside Godzillas body. His temperature has increased to nearly 1000 degrees C and is grwing steadily. To skip over the story (which isn't to bad for this film), Godzilla will explode if this fission increase continues, wiping out all life on Earth. The Super X 3 is sent out to freeze Godzilla and slow down the fission. As soon as Godzilla thaws, the rate of fission begins to increase again, posing an even greater threat, an enormous nuclear meltdown. Destroyers (to introduce them before I forget) are a race of tiny crablike organisms that were mutated by the use of the Oxygen Destoyer in 1954's Godzilla. They merge with each other (much like the hedriums in Godzilla versus Hedorah) until they create an enormous (and quite demonic looking at that) monster known only as Destroyer. Destroyer kills Godzilla Jr. at Haneda airport and is finally done in when Godzilla begins to meltdown and release all of his energy (cool pyrotechnics in this scene). The super X 3 manages to freeze Godzilla and control his meltdown. All of Godzilla's radioactivity is released, turning Tokyo into a dead city. Then, Godzilla Jr. absorbs ALL of the radiation, and reaches his next stage of developement as a full grown Godzilla.
The movie, as always, could have been better, but it is a wonderful conclusion to the original Godzilla series. Akira Ifukube's pounding musical score and more serious filming gives this Godzilla movie a much darker look than any of the other Heisei films. This is a definate must; though, as always, I sugguest getting it on a subtitled Japanese DVD ....
Well worth viewing.
