Summary: Great sci-fi show
Review: An astronaut got sucked into anther part of universe,
met aliens and starts looking for home. It doesn't
sound original, but such classic idea is very appealing
when it's done well. Farscape certainly exceeded my expectations.
The acting is generally above average. The special effects
are done well and enhances the show's atmosphere, but never
at the expense of the plot. This DVD is an good intro for the series, but I gave it
4 stars because it doesn't seem to have subtitles for all
epiodes. My other complain is that one character just started
to appear (in the 2nd disk?) without introduction, so if you
haven't watched this series before it's kinda weird.
Still, I highly recommand this DVD, like others said- you will
get hooked!

Summary: Best Eps of My Favorite Series
Review: And I'm giving it four stars only because they could've given a couple more eps -- notably missing is A Bug's Life, which has some important development for the amazing season finale set. This is an amazing show with exceptional cast, villians, twists and turns and while granted it has lost me a couple times, it always atones. Farscape also consistently features the most devastating season finales in television. Worth watching again and again, I only hope they do a compilation for the other seasons as well since I can't buy every single episode.

Summary: GREAT INTRO TO AN AMAZING TV SERIES
Review: I don't have cable, but have heard a lot about this series from friends. Their consensus: they love it. When this collection was announced, I thought it would be a good way to see what this "Farscape" thing is all about. Turns out, I now have a new favorite TV show...heck, even my wife got into it ("for the love interest between Aeryn and John") and she is not a fan of science fiction. "Farscape" exceeds my expectations of what a TV series is capable of. It is safe to say, this series is better than most movies in vision, scope, and excitement. My one warning to you is it will leave you wanting more (how did you long time fans survive between seasons 1 and 2?). I now HAVE to get Season 2, Volume 1 (last episode of this Best-Of set is the cliffhanger season finale), also counting the days until the Complete Season 1 Box Set is listed...so I can get my hands on the other 16 episodes not included in this collection.

I have to warn you, though, by the time you finish this DVD, you will be hooked. Farscape is a truly amazing ride. The characters, even the ones that are puppets from the Jim Henson Company's Creature Shop, have real depth and emotion (and that's saying something, for a puppet!) and quickly become real people to the viewer. Farscape will engage your mind and your emotions. You find yourself thinking about almost every episode for days afterward, and each time you re-watch an episode (and you WILL watch them again, trust me on this one) you will get something new out of the experience. This show does not deserve its premature cancellation. If there is any justice in this world, Farscape will be back for a fifth season and beyond. But even it it isn't resurrected, you will not be disappointed.

Review: In case you haven't guessed, I'm am totally thrilled about this collection. The day that I got it, I sat down and watched six straight hours of Farscape. Sweet. The eps chosen are absolutely wonderful (DNA Mad Scientist has always been one of my favorites) and for someone like me who missed most of the first season, it was a geat way to pick up the good, essential moments from Season 1. The only drawback that I can think of is that they could have released more eps (maybe 8 instead of 6) but I might just be saying that because I want to watch somemore Farscape now. I am SO hoping that they decide to do this for Seasins 2 and 3 too.
