Rating: Summary: The final season of Star Trek: The Next Generation rounds ou Review: The final season of Star Trek: The Next Generation rounds out the collection nicely. All seven seasons look great on a bookshelf, and this season has the same layout and quality of the first season.Season seven has the same interior layout as seasons one and six, with the single screen playing clips of all four episodes. The most interesting feature is noticing that you get a fly-by view of the captain's ready room and the screen he uses to receive transmissions there. It's a variation on the other seasons, which included the communications panels, holodeck, and sick bay.
Rating: Summary: Season 7 Review: The final season of the greatest Trek series of all time, how are you going to have the final season end. The seventh season tend to be a bit darker than it previous seasons. Each episode proven to be interesting in there own way, but compared to the other rater I would not say "Masks" and "Emergence" as bad. I found the entire season enjoyable and love the entire season and "All Good Things" ended the season on a good note, being the best trek series finale compared to the trek other series.
Rating: Summary: Television Journey Comes To An End... Review: The seventh and final season of the Star Trek-TNG was, in my opinion, the weakest of the show's entire run. Part of the problem was the fact that since it was announced early on, that year 7 was to be it, this made expectations higher than they would have been otherwise...Having said that, the final year still saw its share of quality stories, just not as many as I was accustomed to, from the show. Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart) and his crew welcomed final episodes with returning guest stars Wil Wheaton in the great "Parallels" and the not so great "Journey's End" Lwaxana Troi (Majel Barrett) in the excellent "Dark Page" and Lt. Barclay (Dwight Shultz) in the Gates McFadden directed "Genesis" Other notable visits included Riker's former Captain (Terry O'Quinn) in "The Pegasus", another DS9 crossover cameo, this time from Quark (Armin Shimmermin) in the clunker "Firstborn". We also got to meet Worf's Foster Brother Nicholai (played by Paul Sorvino) in the cool "Homeward".The risky but great "Lower Decks worked well, as did "Attached", which saw Picard and Dr. Crusher (McFadden) share each others thoughts Ro Laren said so long in "Preemptive Strike" which laid the ground work for the Voyager spin-off. While TREK movie vet Robin Curtis appeared in the lopsided 2 parter "Gambit" The absolute worst episodes in TNG history had to be "Bloodlines" "Masks" and "Emergence" Yeouch! The Finale "All Good Things" saw the series come full circle as Picard faced off with Q (John De Lancie) one last time. This trip across time also saw the return of Chief O'Brien (now a regular on DS9) and Lt. Tasha Yar (Denise Crosby) The series finale ended much the same way the pilot did at the beginning, with the promise of more (film) adventures to come.... The 7 DVD box set has about an hour's worth of feturettes that discuss the 7th year in depth, with special attention focused on the finale, and the TNG crew making the transitition to feature films The extra stuff is fashioned in the same way as it was on the other sets in the collection. Mixing old and new interview footage, as always though nothing you see or hear on the documentaries should suprise you, if you are already a fan of the show. As lopsided as I think the year seven was, it should still be part of your TNG DVD collection, and if you have come this far...I am sure it will be...*** and a half stars
Rating: Summary: Oh no! It's all over! Review: The seventh season of Star Trek: The Next Generation would be its last. A hectic time for Star Trek with so many things going on at once. Everyone knew going into the seventh season that it would be the last. We saw some great episodes in this season, however, the only sense of closure we got was in "All Good Things..." This was a fantastic show and all seven seasons are worth every penny. It had great writers all the way through and the seventh season is no different. It's great to see how the show ends its journey. Great show...great season...It's too bad that it's over. BUT. Don't fret...the Next Generation crew returned to the bridge of the Enterprise in four feature films. Congratulations Star Trek: TNG. You never dissapointed me. Personal Favorite Episodes: Descent: Part II, Gambit: Parts I and II, Phantasms, Inheritance, Parallels, The Pegasus, Lower Decks,Masks, Eye of the Beholder, Genesis, Journey's End, Emergence, Preemtive Strike, and All Good Things... All good things must come to an end...at least the series went out on the highest note possible!

Rating: Summary: The Next Generation graduates boldly bow out... Review: The seventh season of TNG was a mixed bag; the show's budget had been reduced and many on the writing staff moved over to the new hot property DS9 (in fact The Storyteller episode of DS9 was originally written for TNG). Nevertheless, there were a number of stand out episodes during the seventh season. I've seen many fans complain about Masks. It's an intriguing and well written episode that allows Brent Spiner shine. It's a little unclear at the resolution what the artifact was attempting to do by transforming the Enterprise into a dead civilization but it still manages to work despite it's shortcomings. Although Genesis seems to rush to its conclusion (it could easily have been stretched to a two part episode), Gates McFadden's sharp direction creates an errie mood. It's one of the few episodes that recall Cat's Paw from the original series. It's definitely a Halloween type of episode and is filled with interesting make up designs. It's also Reg Barclay's swansong on the series. A pity he wasn't used more during TNG films (although his brief appearance in First Contact was welcome). Gambit parts 1 & 2 don't quite live up to the potential of some of the previous two-parters. It's a fun but awkward mix of swashbuckling space opera and Trek themes. All Good Things brings the series to an artful and powerful conclusion. Well written and directed, AGT is what the first TNG film should have been. Patrick Stewart gives a powerful performance as Picard from the time he took command of the Enterprise to his retirement tending grapes in the family vineyard. The effects work is top notch and we get one last glimpse of Q in TNG. The ending suggested that there was (however loose)a 7 year story arc all along. There is a very clever hint during season 6 in a scene between Picard and Q (True Q)as to how the series would be resolved the following year. While not the best season (season 6 following by 4, 5 & 3 wins that title), season 7 demonstrated that despite fatigue there was still considerable life in TNG. Contrary to other reviews here, season 7 isn't the weakest season (that dubious honor still falls to season 1 closely followed by the improved season 2). The picture quality is exceptional and the 5.1 remixed sound has details missing from the previous version on video. The extras are very good and show a huge improvement over the season 1 featurettes. The packaging like all the rest of the series is very good although, again, a brief synposis with credits of each episode for the booklet would have been nice. With all the comments from the cast in the featurettes and the fact that they were together making Nemesis when this was put together, I'm surprised that Paramount doesn't have any episodes with cast/director/writer/producer commentaries. It would have been particularly useful for the final two part episode. Maybe Paramount will get this part right with the DS9 release on DVD.
Rating: Summary: SOME OF THE BEST WRITING IN THE ENTIRE SERIES Review: The seventh season was one of my favorite seasons in The Next Generatoin. The script writing was all very creative and original, some examples of this being "Parellels" and my all-time favorite: "All Good Things..." . If you are looking into buying any one season of Star Trek, I would reccomend Season 7.

Rating: Summary: Thank Heaven--Season Seven! Review: There are truly some REAL good episodes in this season. "Dark Page", "Attached", "Lower Decks" & "Preemptive Strike"...just to name a few. Truly a must for STTNG fans.
Rating: Summary: Berman, Bragga, Moore, Taylor...None of them can write.... Review: There is a saying that those who can write, become bestselling authors. Those who can't, write television. And All the shows from this seventh season of TNG show that. They were either doing time travel stories or where the mind went in certain ways. It was like watching endless commericals or adds for things you don't want on the Internet. Where is the originally? Where is the creative talent here? Where is the humanity? It does not exist. If you don't have good scripts. You don't have anything. And this show, together with all the science fiction TV shows that came after it. Never had good scripts. Just made a ton of garbage.
