Summary: The Matrix - What life is....
Review: Hold onto your seat for what could easily be the shock of your life! OK, OK, it IS just a movie, or is it? It is the Matrix - the very thing you live in from day to day. The World as you perceive it to be, but is that the world as it REALLY is? That's is the question the Matrix will answer for you.

By far, the finest aspect of this film is the special effects. Brilliant in their execution and beautiful in their design, you will be stunned to say the least!

A great overall film and a sure fire hit to have in your personal video or DVD collection.

Summary: Awesome!
Review: This is one of the true masterpieces, of modern special effects. Want proof? Check out the Neo vs. Morphious fight scene, it's amazing! My next question is for the people responsible for American Beauty being named the Oscar for best movie, how could you? That movie, pales in comparison to this classic. That's about it, so now press order now, and get a copy of this fabulous movie!

Summary: MORE THAN AN ACTION FLICK
Review: If you choose this movie hoping to see non-stop action, you might be a little disappointed. While The Matrix boasts a number of shoot-'em-up, kick-'em'-in-the-head battle scenes further illuminated by the next wave in special effect technology, this movie also a number of thought-provoking questions as to the nature and existence of reality itself.

The action gives the film its blockbuster appeal, but the meat of the story lies in the philosophy behind it. I read in the newspaper that a college somewhere in the eastern U.S. taught a class about The Matrix's philosophy on reality. If you're not looking for something that will challenge your own world view, this movie's not for you.

But if you want something that both makes your heart race and the wheels of your mind turn, accept no substitute. The Matrix has no equal.

Summary: Sava galaxie by lotsa shootin and wearing them trenchcoats!
Review: This show is marketed to somewhat 15 to 25 audience. That's why the kewl (gewd) guys are about this age and the bad guys look like like 40ish. 25 y/o gang don't like forty y/o folks who are just not kewl enough.

Same trick George Lucas used in Star Wars -- you won't see any bad guy of age 20ish there. Good use of juvenile emotions -- the old folks are not comprehended and they are feared.

Same trick used in Phantasm -- who we have feared in the childhood -- some tall grouchy man...

Same trick used in zillions other movies.

The story is lame and researched by so many sci-fi books and shows etc: the machines take over the woild and you gotta gun them down just like in your favorite video game. Duka nuka, you know. Quake'em. Kewl.

Visually compelling, but not that much, I would not care to see it again let alone littering my home vidio library with it.

If I had any kids, I would not let them watch this show before they really learn what 1 (one) shot from a firearm can do to peoples' lives.

Summary: Wake me when it's over...
Review: Heavy handed new age metaphor drowned in a blinding overkill of special FX. Really clunky script, too. Stereotype characters from casting central, horrible cliches trying to pass as archetypal figures: Joseph Campbell's "The Hero With a Thousand Faces" as visually interpreted by a fifteen year old boy with a "QUAKE" fetish. Totally masturbatory shoot out sequences too, hard to believe that this film hasn't been skewered by the public in light of all those school shootings.

Summary: The Matrix
Review: This movie just blew my mind. It is my all time favorite movie with a great storyline, and awesome action scenes what more could you possibly want. Unlike many other movies I have seen this movie really makes you think. And it was even better when I saw it at my friend's house on DVD! This is the kind of movie I could see over and over again... I've already seen it 8 times! If you haven't seen the Matrix... you should, this is a movie you won't want to miss!

Summary: A must for you DVD collection!
Review: Since thousands of people have reviewed The Matrix, let's get to the point! It is a definite must for your DVD collection! Why you ask...well it won 3 Academy Awards (beating Star Wars Episode 1 in all catagories), it has revived the career of Keanu Reeves (that left acting to pursue his music career, Dogstar), has elivated Carrie-Anne Moss' career, was the 1st $100 million dollar movie of 1999 and has great DVD features! I'm looking forward to the next two sequels of The Matrix! Rumors say that Jet Li will be in it, check it out!

Summary: Wake up copper top!
Review: The cool thing about this movie is that it explains so much. If the premise of the movie were true, i.e. that our "reality" is only a simulation, then everything that is supernatural, paranormal or extra-sensory becomes plausible. Think you're being watched? You are. Can Yuri Geller really melt a spoon? In this world, definitely "yes". Deja Vu? Just a glitch in the matrix. Think everything tastes like chicken? That's because it does. You think the rules don't apply to you? Maybe they don't. The movie challenges our perceptions and the very notions of awareness and sentience. "I think, therfore I am" becomes "I think, therefore I may be". Nothing can be taken for granted inside the Matrix.

The DVD is an extra treat. The movie itself is perfect for DVD with it's excellent use of Dolby 5.1 Digital and great special effects. In addition, you will want to watch with the commentary turned on at least once and definitely watch at least once with the white rabbit feature turned on.

In the Matrix, it turns out that the fringe elements of society - the lunatics, the paranormals, the misfits - were right all along and the folks in the mainstream who had achieved some measure of conventional success turned out to be the mindless automatons. This explains the wide spectrums of ratings in the reviews for this movie. Many, many people "get it". Many do not. To the latter group I say "Wake up copper top! The Matrix has you."
