Rating: Summary: Brilliant, mind-blowing, 1st film of the 21st century Review: First saw this at the cinema, throughout the second half of the film no-one uttered a word. Having seen it a 2nd time on DVD I love it, we've been waiting for something like this from Hollywood for a while now, it certainly beats the new Star Wars movie. I do hope they make a sequel or 2, or maybe a T.V. series, brilliant.
Rating: Summary: Great combination of Action, script and storyline Review: Although some may think that this kind of plot typifies sci-fi novel, this movie manages to get a right combination of action, special effects and great sense of excitement. This is a definite keeper for those who love sci-fi flicks.
Rating: Summary: This movie is the best I have EVER seen! Review: This movie is so good you cant summarize it. All I can tell you is that its the BEST movie I have ever seen! (and I have seen A LOT of movies!) So if you hvaent seen it, you better!
Rating: Summary: Great special effects but little else. Review: I had to give it one star, the system won't let you give a zero. This should have just been a computer game instead of a movie. The premise for this movie is just as silly as most of the games I've seen. But I suppose there are enough high tech computer generated special effects, kung-fu fighting and superfluous gunfire to keep the short attention span under 25 crowd happy. It's a torture, however, to watch Keanu Reeves at his wooden worst uttering lines like "Whoa!" and "Whut?". (Along with "Excellent!" and "Bogus!" weren't those also his lines in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure?) I'm sure that this film was a tremendous financial success and will spawn countless sequels and immitators, but all it really reminds me of is some bad acid trips I took in the '70s. "Whoa, what is reality, man?" "Whut?".
Rating: Summary: MATRIX - excellent! Review: I am a lad who enjoys the extremes of technology, but the matrix does take it one step further. Excellent graphics and martial-arts skill. Amazing film. As you get to the end of the film, all the bits come into place and then you'll understand what the film is about!
Rating: Summary: Best Movie of 1999 Review: What can i say about the The Matrix, well it's the best movie of 1999. The FX are great. I saw it 3 times in the cinema and i've bought it on dvd. The dvd has great extras on it. If you haven't seen this movie, go see it now!
Rating: Summary: Just one word for this movie: GREAT !!!!!! Review: Outstanding special-effects and great sound-effects in the Dolby Digital 5.1 format makes this movie to one of the greatest, most spectaculair productions of the past century. Watching this DVD is truly sensational....more than just once....
Rating: Summary: great can't see it just once. need to own it. Review: Rented it, then I bought it. It is a really great concept
Rating: Summary: The DVD extras are worth the price of admission Review: Yes the movie's cool - I speak for the DVD "extras," which are numerous and imaginative. As you watch the film a WHITE RABBIT will appear that you can "follow" to a look behind the scene you are watching - it takes you there, shows you how they did it, then brings you back to the film which continues on. Plenty other cool features too. My only COMPLAINT: the audio commentary is self-congratulatory and "didn't we make a cool movie?" more than informative. Overall though, the highlight of my DVD collection.
Rating: Summary: WOW - One of my all-time favorites Review: Amazing - I missed this movie in the theater, but rented on DVD. I went the next day and bought the DVD and watched it 2 more times immediately. Great special effects!!! Great story!!! Great acting!!!To top it all off - this is the best use I've seen yet of the capabilities of DVD's. With the 30 minutes "making of" featurette and the "Follow the White Rabbit" extra's this is a DVD for others to emulate.
