Summary: Awesome, one of Tom Cruise's best ever
Review: Forget MI2, this is the Cruise movie you want to see. It's long, but the story gets deeper and deeper as you go right up to a surprise ending. My only complaint is this is like the millionth movie in the last year with Colin Farrell. Enough is enough with him, he's not that good of an actor but he's been in WAY WAY WAY to many movies lately. Anyway, back to minority report. Very cool special effects. Great story. You won't be dissapointed. Everyone runs!

Summary: Spielberg, With Cruise, Lose Their Minds
Review: Alongside the likes of HARRY POTTER, MOULIN ROUGE, and SPIDER-MAN, the great Steven Spielberg succumbed to pressure and made one of the films that, arguably, is destined for the trash heap of film history. MINORITY REPORT is just plain bad ... unimaginative in every aspect of its presentation. Cruise's acting (or lack thereof) has never been more central to a film's failure as it is here.

At best, REPORT serves as what happens when two great minds get together ... and then forget that they have to have a credible story first.

Summary: Disappointing Picture Quality But Still Nice =)
Review: When i saw the picture quality of the DVD of the movie itself, i thought that the DVD i bought was fake! but no it can't be because i bought it from an authorized dealer... But when i saw some of the comments about the quality too, i knew i bought the right one! good enough for me! hehe! But the story was really fantastic! especially the twist! Very unpredictable twist! Very nice! But i was still hoping they would release a better version of the picture quality ( a Superbit maybe) for this.

Summary: what?
Review: entertaining at best, this future film about cops being bad guys and the good guys wining in the end is not much and not worth your money. The story plot and writing was wonderful but the acting didn't measure up at some points in the film. And the people in the water was a little over the top. It's something to at least check out!

Summary: Spielberg's Best, a new sci-fi masterpiece
Review: I'm not kidding, this is hands down the best motion picture that Mr. Spielberg has delivered us yet. It eclipses his previous best, which of course was "Close Encounters" (hey, being second on that list is like being above first on anyone elses list!).

I'm told that there are tons of special features on this edition. Those familiar with my reviews already know this: I don't give a shucky-darn about DVD features. Give me the movie with the best picture and audio quality possible. Does "Minority Report" succeed on these levels? Without a doubt.

Tom Cruise hasn't been this good in a long time. Samantha Morton was robbed of an Academy Award nomination for her work here as the main 'precog'. Don't know what a 'precog' is? You need to see this movie! The effects will boggle the mind of even the most jaded moviegoer. You've never seen anything like this! With "A.I.", Mr. Spielberg was said to be channelling the spirit of the late Stanley Kubrick. True, but equally true here. No, the late Mr. Kubrick had nothing to do with this film, but the influence is simply undeniable.

Summary: Great film
Review: Tom Cruise, his celebrity often makes us forget what a good actor he is. He's a Cancer to boot! This film is a nice departure from the normal action fair in that it moves fast through a possible future. A future where the possibility of crime is precog-seen doesn't quite come off perfectly in the film. Its murky as to how the precogs see and then transmit the information and why it prints out on a wooden ball. Other than that the film moves along at a nice clip as Cruise pursues why he'll become a murderer, convinced that he's being framed. There are a couple of twists here, one that he isn't being framed in the way that he thinks he is or why he thinks he is or that this frame has been going on for such a long time.
Though the film goes into Max Von Sydow being a a very complicated victim, Spielberg has created a world around Cruise's character. And like Julia Roberts, Cruise has been supplanted into the mass consciousness that even a film as complicated as thsi draws you in.
I personally find Cruise infectious in the sense that he's so gung-ho to his choices in work and takes a deliberation in being in projects that are different enough to show a growth as an actor. And that is what makes thsi film really, really good, I would call it one of my favorite of the year.

Review: just when you think mr speilberg ran out of insperation,he directs this gem.this was borderline brilliant.the plot was deep, the acting from all stupendous, the effects were, well, speilbergesque.and im really thrilled by tom cruises performance.i dont give him the credit he deserves.sometimes hes too smiley for my taste but here he gets it done.suffice it to say that if you spend the 20 bucks on this, every penny is accounted for and then some.could this be the raiders of the future?

Summary: A Cool and Intelegent Thriller
Review: "Minority Report" is sci-fi done right. It's sucsessful as a film because a suspenceful action film that raises very specific questions of morality, foreknowledge and judgement. In the future crime can be predicted and murderers can be arrested before they commit the crime. The main issue of the film is a question aimed right at the center of our judicial system- If someone is innocent till proven guilty, is that person still guilty is they are caught before they commit the crime they WILL commit? Tom Cruise is great in the film, as are the other actors. This film is vintage Speilberg, with intense action sequences and building suspence. There's also a fare share of sci-fi gross out sequences (ala "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and "Jurassic Park") that are very entertaining and add to the main character's plight. You can't help but cringe in your seat as you watch Cruise's character undergo a black-market eye transplant! The color of the film (in tones of stoney blue and grey) and complex camera angles add to the suspence and place the audience in a sereal, yet highly believable futuristic environment. "Minority Report" is an entertaining action film that will give you much to talk about.

Summary: HO-HUM! ANOTHER APOCALYPTIC VISION OF THE FUTURE!
Review: Set in 2054, "Minority Report" follows the exploits of a cop and his pre-cogs - his what?!? Three humans with exceptional clarvoyance and telepathic abilities predict crimes before they occur. The system is flawless. That is, until Tom Cruise finds himself being predicted as the next killer of a man that he has never met. There's a lot of set up to this story that really drags, not the least of which is an extended chase on a vertical highway that is so CGI driven it is impossible to take seriously and a greenhouse segment that is full of lethal plants and a long explicative scene between the women who invented pre-crime and Cruise, who is nearly poisoned to death. In between we have some chase sequences that are not very engaging and a few gross-out scenes that really turn one's stomach, including one where Cruise, who has just had his eyes plucked from his head, eats a really spoiled sandwich by mistake and up-chucks a few seconds later. I'm not sure what Spielberg was thinking when he made this movie. It's dark, in a sort of "Blade Runner" way but with a bleached out color scheme that is not very engaging or easy on the eyes. In fact it's down right oppressive. Just in case you were too stupid to grasp the general concept of the film (which I must admit, for the first 30 min. I was) there's a long explanation at the end of the film in which dialogue between Cruise and the killer tie everything up nicely - too nicely and too neatly for a film that teeters between action/adventure and film noir. Unfortunately, in this reviewers opinion, the ultimate product is neither but a mutt - a mix of a little of this and that, that comes off as nothing special in the final analysis.
As for the DVD transfer - Dreamworks has retained the grain of the original theatrical experience but somehow managed to make the film look so grainy that, not even in theaters, do I remember it being this unpleasant a viewing experience on the eyes. Quite literally, if you're watching this film on an anmorphic big screen at home, some of the scenes will make you sick. The audio is nicely represented. As a two disc special edition, disc two has a truck load of extras that are rather boring to watch. Cruise looks and talks as if he's just finished an all night B-movie marathon while Spielberg somehow manages to retain none of that magic spark that made him become a director in the first place. There is a sense, even from him, that he's done all this before and with far greater economy of wit, special effects, storytelling and charm.

Summary: What a great movie. Stephen Spielberg outdoes himself again
Review: I always love a good Stephen Spielberg movie, and this is another great addition. The suspense throughout the movie, the plot is wonderfully done... the twists in happenings keeps you on your toes and wondering. Tom Cruise also does a fantastic job at acting as normal... he is the dark and mysterious character we all know and love... I would urge anyone to purchase this as I have watched it many times and will continue to watch it many more times. Another film that I feel that isn't so racy that the whole family couldn't almost enjoy it (maybe if you had children in the teens at least)
