Summary: Predator satisfies as it slays
Review: This quintessential guy movie has been the favorite of the dorm with its aliens, guns, and muscle men. Who can resist Jesse "The Body" Ventura with a rain-forest-cutting minigun? Predator is a superior DVD transfer and should be included in any enthusiast's collection.

Summary: Great alien-action shoot'em up
Review: This movie is great. One of Schwartzenegars(im not sure how to spell it) best 80's films. It's about Arnold leading his team of special forces into the jungle to rescue some hostages. When bodies are discovered skinned, they start to wonder whats going on.After a great action packed shootout, the members are picked off one by one by an unseen creature from another planet. Amazing special effects for the aliens invisibility.Features some very cool gore when the bodies are discovered and when people are killled.Very innovative story too.Its pretty suspenceful if you dont know much about the movie, but of course the box gives away that everybody dies.I suggest getting the widescreen version, because of the widescreen feaure, and because its digitally mastered in THX.A very good movie to watch.(5 STARS OUT OF 5)

Summary: Great Stars, great filming, music makes this a great movie
Review: Except for terminator, this was Arnolds first best hit and one of my favorites. Watch and you will see it is really 3 movies or 3 chapters in one movie, each with different suspense and pacing.

The photography is great, moving cameras through the bush as it follows everyone and music sets it all off great.

This one is a clasic. Since it seems to be sold out I guess many others agree. I got my copy early.

Summary: much improved over VHS version, excellent
Review: the movie, one of arnie's best. but everybody's favorite character is 'Blain' played by Jesse Ventura. the lines this guy spouts makes the movie.

video, the transfer is top notch, things show up in the DVD video of this that just didn't appear in the VHS version. with all of the dark shots in this flick the DVD definately benifits from the higher resolution. many refer to the interior helicopter shots where in vhs it was just dark, but on DVD everything shows up as it should sharp and detailed.

audio, this soundtrack has been screaming for Dolby Digital for years. birds chirping in one speaker while a twig cracks in another. a must have for any Predator fan.

Summary: An Arnold Classic
Review: I love actions films and this I must catergorize as a "classic". Although Arnold is small on words, he is a giant when it comes to action. This film meets his persona to a tee. This film is even better on DVD. I felt like the Predator was right behind me. A must buy!

Summary: the best alien action film out there
Review: when I first saw the first Predator film,I was happy to see the strong male role running for his life. Yet I do think why this editions for the Alien and Predator films are coming out so close to each other is for the summers next cross over. Alien vs Predator. But to the film, the first predator was by far the best. Sending in comandos into a rain forest and each one being killed off is truly a scary sight and yet the movie is full of action. Predator is by far one of my favorit films and I will go by this film when it comes out three days before the opeaning of AVP.

Summary: Total Testesterone Immersion - Not Good for You
Review: Some special forces types, complete with improbably large muscles and weapons that were surely never meant to be portable, are helicoptered into a jungle somewhere in Latin America with a mission of rescuing some hostages from some guerrillas. Muscles notwithstanding, these seem to be singularly inept special forces: the guerrilla camp arrived at the blunder in, with absolutely minimal reconnaissance to determine basic little things like, duh, where the hostages are located, blowing everything they see sky high and, surprise surprise, all the hostages end up dead. Seeming entirely pleased themselves they then start heading back only to find themselves being picked off by a mysterious semi-invisible alien thingy.

This is the first commercial success in the career of John McTiernan, the 1990s' master of the clunking explosion laden action movie and he is clearly starting as he means to continue. While hugely successful, it's pretty dumb stuff. Even the most basic movies in which we see a bunch of soldier types being picked off by some evil enemy thing usually manage to endow the soldiers in question with discernible character traits which do at least some work in driving the narrative. In this movie they start out as The Guy With Glasses, the Black Guy, the Indian Guy and, by the time they get round to being eaten by the alien have failed to fill out these basic classificatory tags in any interesting way whatever. Comparisons with `Alien' can only be particularly embarrassing. The latter gave us a brilliantly designed, truly original and very scary monster. This gives us, well, a guy in a not very scary monster suit. It's a mild sort of fun in a witless sort of way but ultimately it's almost as dumb as its protagonists.

Summary: Edge of your seat adventure!
Review:
Major Duke ( Arnold Schwartzenger)and his recruits ( Carl Weathers, Jesse Ventura, Bill Duke, Shane Black and Richard Chaves) go into the South American jungles to rescue innocient hostages. Soon they discover that a sneaky alien creature begins to hunt the team down then slaughter them one by one, as Duke must try to find a way to defeat the unseen enemy force.

A supsenseful and really violent Science Fiction action adventure that has became a genre favorite even with it's box-office success and fan base. There are some gore in this movie that may not be for the squeamish, but it's action and pacing never lets down the viewer especially with it's good special effects, the creature itself is quite a unique kind of alien monster that is fully armed with invisibility mode and all kinds of deadly weapons designed and created by Stan Winston.

This special 2-Disc Edition is an improvement over the original badly transfered bareboned with only trailer DVD, it has a great and informative audio commentary by the director. The features on disc 2 are just cool, it has featurettes, documentary, Never-before-shown outtakes, deleted scene, still gallery and more.

A must have DVD and movie for fans of action, adventure, horror, and Science Fiction everywhere.

Summary: The camouflaging creature is after Arnold.
Review: It's Arnold Schwarzenegger with his cigar! He teams up with Carl Weathers, Sonny Landham, Bill Duke, Richard Chavez, Jesse Ventura and Shane Black. They also find Elpidia Carrillo. They go to a mexican jungle to find and rescue hostages, but instead they find themselves trying to save their own lives from a nearly-invisible creature able to camouflage itself in the jungle. It loves to skin humans to death.
Arnold even does the "Conan" primal yell!
No extras on this DVD except theatrical trailer.
Sequels: Predator 2 (1990), Alien vs. Predator (2004).

Summary: "GET TO THE CHOPPER!!!"
Review: You just can't do much better in the way of man-style 80s shoot-em' up sci-fi action. This classic has plenty of testosterone, special forces dudes blowing things up and busting caps with automatic weapons in the jungle, a space alien hunting them the whole time...and ARNOLD! (Now the "Governator"!)
What more could a guy want in a movie? Lock and load!
