Rule 3: Be prepared to see neo kick serious but!All in all, if you are a fan of the first one and are willing to sit through (yes, i admit it) a few talky scenes and realy absorb and understand the movie, go see it, by all means!
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Amazing Review: I guess you have to be a computer nerd (like me) to like this movie. I see all those negative reviews and I keep thinking of my dumb friends who can't open their minds even a little bit, and people who actually think that Spiderman was a good movie. I personally loved Matrix Reloaded. After seeing the first one (which I thought was very good) I didn't think it was possible to make the second one just as good. But I was wrong, the story line makes a complete U turn as it develops. The movie ends leaving you hanging in mid air and wanting more. I don't wonna ruin it for anyone but it end with the words "To Be Continued" which I personally think is the worst way to end a movie. But beside that, I just loved it. To understand Matrix Reloaded you have to really pay attention to every line otherwise you gonna end up being disappointed like most of the people I see here. As a computer scientist I love the way they tried to keep everything as accurate as possible (really shows they did their research). Unlike that other guy I just love the new characters inside the matrix, you can't look at them as characters but as programs you would find on a computer. The French guy (a database server), Key maker (a cracking software), the Asian dude who protects oracle (a firewall), and then Neo, a program that hacks it's way into the system and cusses damage (a virus perhaps, something that agent Smith refers to in both matrices). The movie is packed with stuff that requires you to think a little (something that those other people clearly cannot do) but once you understand it you will love it. I just can't wait till the DVD comes out.
Rating: Summary: take a look around Review: ok...this movie was not as good as the first one. the first one was outstanding. but, compare this movie to all the other drivel that comes out. did anyone see "bounce" or some other god awful my girlfriend wants to see it movie. I dug this movie, I thought the effects were great, the kung fu amazing. I love the music. I totally can't wait until the next movie comes out. I suppose I'm placing my faith on the next one having more substance. bye
Rating: Summary: Expecatations were really, really high... Review: The movie was fine, but expectations were really high. I had a sense of deja vu from when I saw the Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back many years ago: THE MAIN CHARACTERS: The boring hero: (TM:R) Neo, (SW:ESB) Luke Skywalker, Comment: Is it blasphemy to say Keanu can't really act? Not that Mark was a powerhouse, either. Chica caliente: (TM:R) Trinity, (SW:ESB) Princess Leia The hero we're really routing for: (TM:R) Morpheus, (SW:ESB) Han Solo The enigmatic prophet: (TM:R) The Oracle, (SW:ESB) Obi-wan Kenobi The evil one in charge: (TM:R) The Architect, (SW:ESB) The Emperor His Interesting Henchman: (TM:R) Agent Smith, (SW:ESB) Darth Vader The underutilized character: (TM:R) Tank/Link, The Keymaster, (SW:ESB) Lando Calrissian, Jabba the Hutt OTHER SIMILARITIES: --- The original movies were groundbreaking. --- Both sequels have better special effects, thanks in large part to a 10x budget. --- Both movies end as cliff-hangers, with the bad guys apparently having the upper hand.... --- Both were disappointing --- Both introduced characters who could be very interesting, but were never adequately explored. For example, The Matrix: Reloaded has the ghostly twins. They're a lot like The Borg in that they're almost too powerful. The Empire Strikes Back introduced us to Lando Calrissian, played by Billy Dee Williams, who, in my opinion, was much more interesting than Luke Skywalker. It's going to be a long few months until The Matrix: Revolutions premieres.
Rating: Summary: Matrix Reloaded = Cyberpunk Lite Review: I was eagerly awaiting the release of "The Matrix Reloaded", having enjoyed both the visual action and philosophy expressed in "The Matrix". Unfortunately, action certainly takes the center stage here in this sequel, leaving little room to much philosophical discourse by either Neo (Keanu Reaves) or Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne). Instead, we are treated to many elegantly-staged cyberpunk kung fu fights between Neo and his adversaries, most notably the evil FBI agent Smith (Hugo Weaving - perhaps better known now for his portrayal of Elrond in the "Lord of the Rings" films). Fans of excellent cyberpunk cinema will undoubtedly wish that "Matrix Reloaded" was more like "Neuromancer" than a Hong Kong kung fu flick running high on stims. But alas, this is what we are treated to in this sequel. I hope "The Matrix: Revolutions" will equal the original with respect to plot quality as well as action, but until then, I think I'll wait for its release before seeing "The Matrix Reloaded" again.
Rating: Summary: yet another car commerical Review: Why do they put a car commerical in a movie nowaday? If you are going to put a car commerical in the movie, make it like what Man In Black 2 did - shows the car from the start to the end. If the movie is about the car, it is a great movie. (MIB2 is the worst car commerical I have ever seen.) However, this is not about the car. I think it should be about what is going to happen once one realizes the meaning of his or her existance. And I think they should call this movie Superman or something like that instead. If there is a problem, Superman will be there to save the day. (oh... and get the girl afterward.) Action is ok but not as good as the first movie. The actions lack motion. They are slow and boring... and meaningless. I frequently wonder why they are fighting. Are they fighting for something? for some great purpose maybe? No, they just fight. I think the only interesting thing in this movie is that the real people are not really free according to the Architect.
Rating: Summary: One of the coolest action movies, ever! Review: First off, I can't believe this movie has gotten some of the bad reviews it has. Were they even watching the movie? The only thing I can think of is that the movie went right over their heads. This is one of the coolest movies I have ever seen. The special effects are unprecedented by any other movie. The action scenes are very cool. This is a much watch for any Matrix fan, or any action movie fan period. I can understand if the plot does get somewhat confusing, but if you just pay attention, it is not that hard to follow. This is one of those movies that after it is over, all you want to do is talk about it. That is also very helpful too, because often times, different people understand different things about the movie, so if you all discuss it, everybody will understand it better.
Rating: Summary: The Matrix: Be Bloated Review: I can only echo what a huge disppointment this film is. I loved the first movie. Reloaded is boring and empty. The first hour is mostly talk and uninteresting at that. When the action does kick in, it lacks the suspense and energy of the original. Yes, the effects are impressive, but once Neo became "The One," all the fight scenes seemed meaningless. You knew he'd win. No matter how many Agent Smiths there are, it's like watching a Road Runner cartoon. Sooner or later, the coyote is in a cloud of dust at the bottom of the canyon. When are moviemakers going to realize that a strong villain is crucial to a successful film? In part, that's what made Agent Smith so compelling in the first Matrix. The Twins had potential as formidable foes, but inexplicably are given little screen time. The movie does pick up during the last half hour with the car chase, the conversation with the Architect and Trinity's denouement. Too little, too late. Unless, the Brothers W have something up their sleeve, I have little hope for Revolutions.
Rating: Summary: The Matrix Rocks Review: I want to say I am not good in writing reviews but I have to admit I heard and read a lot of good & bad points about Matrix 2 First thing .. I thought this was as good as No : 1 but it could have been better if they didn't put the sex scene & rave party in it.I am sorry it spoiled the whole film right down just when it was getting good.( they could have put it at the start rather than in the middle ). Second .. Too many new characters I could not understand who was who in the film? The first Matrix was plain and simple. In reloaded it was hard to keep up. Apart from that I thought it was a good film Much better than Spider-man and Daredevil Which are the worst films. The freeway chase is something out of this world . I hope the 3rd is going to be a good one I have to go and see it. thank you and please take my word The Matrix Reloaded is a Blast
