Summary: A real stomach-churner.
Review: The first half-hour of this movie is stupid and somewhat borring. It's not until the aliens inevitably break out that the movie shows its rollercoaster action that rejuvinates the series. Be warned though --- this one's the gorriest yet.

Summary: When will I ever learned...previews can be deceptive
Review: I fell for it. I really did. Those previews had me going. With all the criticism thrown at Alien 3 we had hopes that Alien 4 would do the trick. And actually for the first 30 minutes I thought it was good. The alien escape scene was very good. How can you not like Brad Douriff trying Skinneresque behavior mod tecniques? But the movie loses credibility when the soldiers jump ship at the first sign of trouble. I mean what are they there for if not to battle the meanies when they escape? Suspense could have been maintained, for example, by having the well-armed soldiers unable to immediately assist the stranded civilians. You knew the movie was in trouble when the leader of the ragtags wanders down the corridor by himself. So, don't writers ever learn? The Alien halfbreed was a joke. Another writer said it was a Red Skleton clown. Perfect! Couldn't have said it better. And that preachy moralism about the environment at the end. Give us a break! However, maybe nobody can swim under water for ten minutes, but aesthetically the scene worked. The question now is where do they go from here? Simple. We can save two genre at once. James Bond (Timothy Dalton Resurrection, please!) goes on assignment to investigate strange doings in the Himalayas. Hm? What could be happening up there? Why the sudden plethora of meteors crashing in Shangila? Could be he meets up with a male/female investigative team from the FBI. Well now, we might be getting somewhere.

Summary: An improvement.
Review: This movie is quite original! Having Ripley be part alien is one thing, but the newborn was cool too. This movie has the most emotion since Aliens. All the charachters were solid and Sigourney and Winona stole the show. See this. It's great!

Summary: Next please!
Review: Lets face it, Alien Resurrection isn't that good. The first hour is so boring and that 'newborn' alien is the funniest thing I've seen in ages. That bit with the porthole at the end though is really sinister. However, its nice to see they've set up a perfect scenario for Alien 5. Aliens on Earth. Lets hope it will be the best - and the last. Any more will really be pushing it.

Summary: A Bastardization of the Aliens Saga
Review: I hate 90's movies, in general really. And the few that are good go pubically and critically unappriciated, but that's another story. I feel that the quality of our films are deteriating rapidly and I offer this movie as proof. Okay the sets and special effects were "cool", but they totally changed the character of Ripley and the Alien! Alough I'll admit I didn't much care for Alien3, at least it brought a logical conclusion to the triology. I ask all true Alien fans to boycot this movie before it infects and destroyes an otherwise classic movie saga.

Summary: AS ONE OF THE CRITIC'S REVIEWS<SAY, "RESURRECTION ROCKS!!!!
Review: This is better than the other three!!!!! After 200 years of being dead, Ripley is resurrected, carrying the wretched queen alien which she died with in alien 3. Once the queen alien is removed from her, all hell breaks loose!!! As Ripley says,"She'll breed. You'll die. Any questions????" Now it's up to Ripley and a crew of dumbjock space delivery men, including Wynona Ryder, to save the day. This movie is real gory, but still enjoyable!!! BUY IT!!!!!!!!

Summary: a nice twist...
Review: I had low expectations for this the fourth film in a cash cow series that I thought had been used up. Lets face it, the theatrical previews seemed to scream "I am a b movie, wait for video!" Going into the movie with this mentality yeilded an interesting revelation... this movie challenged me to think as all good science fiction should and demonstrated a sense of originality and intelligence that so many films of the genre lack. Resurrection starts out as a typical Alien movie... but builds to a climax that not only crosses into the bizarre, but borders gently on being warped. More so than Alien 3, this is a sequel that is worthy of carrying the Alien logo.

Summary: It's been done before
Review: The previous three Alien movies each tried to do something different: the first (and best by far) was a horror flick, the second an action rollercoaster and the third a dark thriller. I enjoyed all three to some degree, by having seen the others there is no need to see this, since it's mostly the same premise and plot line - company wants to keep alien, alien escapes, Ripley leads a bunch of people to freedom whilst they get picked off one by one along the way. On it's own, for me there are too many stereo-typical characters and one-liners, and Wynona doesn't have any screen presence at all.

Summary: would you rather watch Alien 3????
Review: I saw this movie in the theatre, and I don't regret doing so for a second. I've been a long-time fan of the Alien movie series, and I must say, I've immensely enjoyed all 4, even the third. While Resurrection doesn't come close to the quality of Aliens (the 2nd film), it has some good points. Fast plot, humour, cool effects. The addition of Winona Ryder is excellent. Overall, decent film.

Summary: DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE - THIS MOVIE ROCKS
Review: I am a fan of the Dark Horse comics, and to me this story seemed very comic book-like, and that is why i loved it!! i loved the characters (stock or not), the entire movie is completely original and adrenolin-pumping. I was much relieved to find that the computer generated effects were kept to a minimum unless absolutely needed, and even then were very effective and not at all cheesy. The true intelligence of the aliens is finally seen in this movie. The story is what i love about this movie, and I think it was well implemented. People, you are not even TRYING to appreciate the depth of story in this movie! movies are meant to entertain, not EDUCATE. if you want a science lesson watch mr f***ing wizard! the flaws in this movie do not make it any less engrossing, and if you think it does than maybe you shouldn't watch movies.

If you are an Aliens fan, do not be discouraged by the third movie (or the negative reviews), THIS IS THE BEST ONE OF THE SERIES. but don't take my word for it; there's at least one review for EACH movie in the series that says it's the best one. all i'm saying is give it a chance, and try to UNDERSTAND the things that are happening. if you want to be entertained, you will be. a fun movie
