Summary: A light adventure film with some food for thought.
Review: As a Star Trek fan I was curious about the so called curse of the odd numbered Treks. I think this one finally broke that. This film was everything one could expect from Star Trek. I liked that it was a light outing as the last one was intense. This one was like a taking a breather without compromising the series themes. The idea of slowing down, that each moment is a universe in itself appealed to my Zen sensibilities. We should take this to heart in our fast paced lifestyle with all its stresses and crisis. Once again Star Trek gives a message to our culture . Perhaps we should listen closer. A worthy entry in the series. I can't wait to see what lies ahead in this series.

Summary: It had all the classic sense that all the other movies had
Review: the special effects were good i hope that in the next one Troy and Riker still have feeling for each other. It needed more battle sense in space like First Contact did. More suspense.

Summary: My Insurrection review
Review: This movie was great I went to see it the day it came out into my theater. My sister my mom and a friend all went to see it together. It was a funny and if you are a trekker you should enjoy this.

Summary: perhaps not a great film...but it is true trek
Review: Whereas, Wrath of Khan and First Contact stand on their own as terrific films, whether you're a ST fan or not, Insurrection, has to rank up there with Final Frontier and Generations: films that despite their plot holes and somewhat disappointing special effects, succeed because we Trekkers love the characters, and they stay true to the original Trek concepts.

However, I must say that Paramount has really missed the boat on these DVDs. Insurrection comes with a lame 10 minute making-of featurette, but that's it. Let's face it, we Trekkers are the ones who WOULD sit through a two hour director's commentary, or 5 theatrical trailers, or real behind-the-scenes documentaries, etc.

If you liked the film, then by all means buy the DVD, but I suspect that down the road, Paramount will release a Special Edition box set with all of the extra crap. Until then, my widescreen video editions of Star Treks 1-8 will have to do.

Summary: This is the BEST Star Trek movie. Ever.
Review: I thought this Star Trek movie had it all. Action, humor, GREAT special effects, and even a love story. In my opinion, this is by far the best Star Trek movie to have the Star Trek: The Next Generation cast in it. This movie is more in the style of Star Trek: The Next Generation, than Star Trek: First Contact was. This movie is one the whole family can enjoy. It's non-gory, and still has a good, refreshing story. If you want a good Star Trek movie, I highly recommend this movie:)

Summary: Mysterious as usual
Review: What do I mean by mysterious? well let me explain...... all of the Star Treks series have mostly had a who-dunnit and/or why are they doing it to start with. At first you don't know why the Sona are spying on these people but as any mystery goes, it gets solved in the end. Great special effects and superb writing, as usual.

Summary: I LOVE THIS MOVIE
Review: The Son'a and the Federation Council are out to distroy a peacefull race called the Ba'ku. Only through insurrection can Jean-Luc picard and the Enterprise save the Ba'ku. Patrick Stewart is at his best. The movie is the first since Star Trek 4 to successfully have large ammounts of humor, and still lots of plot.

Summary: "Insurrection" more of an infection in "Star Trek" series
Review: Love is in the air. What else is new. But now a new question has surfaced: Who cares? The crew of the Enterprise is helping yet again when trouble conjures up a mess on a peaceful planet. Pointless sequel should have stayed an idea. There was no main point to this one unlike the last few. The point of a movie based on a series is to show an adventure too great and grand to show on the series. Like the Borg battle in "First Contact" or a legendary captain's death in "Generations". This one features a planet. Yeah, whoo. Then they throw in a love story with Captain Picard. Of course in all action packed installments, the action always comes through! Guess what. The action in a Mountain Dew commercial over does this "action". Do you get the idea of pointless yet? They also decided to go with computers for the special effects area. Bad idea. Franks did much better job directing in "First Contact". I think that the crew needs to go into warp drive back in time and get the borg back!

Summary: well put together, funny and closures on some relationships
Review: I found this movie to be very well thoughtout and at the same time funny. It follows the relationships these characters have established over the years. I especially enjoyed Deanna and Will's new relationship.

Summary: My "Insurrection" Review
Review: Forget all of the talk about this film being too much like a 2-part TV episode. While not an adrenaline rush as "First Contact" was, it is intelligent and engaging. I'm glad to see a "Star Trek" film involving an ethical decision. However, there is too much technobabble, (especially in the less than exciting space battle between the Enterprise and the Sona in the Briar Patch) and the film is painfully short (by at least 15 minutes when you compare it with the other films).

My major complaint with the film: the climactic sequence involving Picard, Worf, and the Sona crew members was rushed, lacks excitement or tension, and was not well-written. If not for that, I would have given the film 4 stars. While not the best "Star Trek" film, it is the best of the odd-numbered ones.
