Summary: The King As He Was 50 Years Ago
Review: It is 50 years after the raid of the greatest force on earth. Some think it's all over but some believe the most terrifying thing, Godzilla will return. A reporter for fictional shows meets a strange man that believes that Godzilla will return but three once evil now holy monsters will come with him. This film is one of the best and most serious kaiju films ever seen by human eyes. There may be only two fight scenes but they where worth every penny each second. My favorite thing about this spectacular film is that they have Godzilla the same way as they did in '54'. Also this Godzilla is hands down one of the best Godzilla looks, personalities, and THE most powerful of the Godzilla. He has intelligence, strength, and most of all, power. It may be a setback that Ghidorah's a good guy, but he looks awsome(especially Baragon).

Review: Honestly, I am starting to feel bad for the big green G. In the past 3 movies that have just come out, Godzilla has been killed off in some sorta form or gruesome way. I mean, how many times you gonna kill him off and make him magically re-appear. Poor guy, gotta lay the smack down on 1 to 3 monsters per film and either gets incinerated, vaporized, or imploded in the end. I loved the film, traditional monster brawlfest, though I have been noticing how shorter the battles are now in the new movies. I mean, mothra in the last film GMK got vaporized without a thought and same with King Ghidora. In the old flicks, they tore up half of Japan whipping the crap outta each other and taking artillery barrages from the army through the whole movie. My final word, they did good, could have done better. Don't sacrifice old school whoop ass Godzilla for the new school CGI/remixed..enemies blasted in 2 seconds..euthanizing big "G" every movie. Let him live, give the big guy a break. Hope they don't kill him off again in Godzilla against Mechagodizlla coming out later this month.

Summary: a boring movie with only 2 fights: 1 good and 1 VERY BORING
Review: I hadn't seen a "Godzilla" movie in a long time, and boy did I pick the wrong title to rekindle the flame..."Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah - Giant Monsters All-Out Attack" (GMK for short) concentrates way too much on the human characters, who for the most part, are about as exciting as counting sheep just before bed. For a majority of the movie, there is way too much lifeless dialogue that the viewer must wade through. The dialogue is flat, monotone, and it saps the life out of me just thinking about it. To make matters worse, there is hardly any humour or camp in this movie. At least "Godzilla 2000" had campy dialogue (e.g "Great Caesar's Ghost!!!"). What made the dialogue fun in the older days were the hokey lines. But in this movie, we're treated to repetitive, monotonous dialogue that is neither humorous nor engaging. All you need to know is that there are so-called "Guardian Monsters" protecting the 'homeland' from Godzilla. So what's there to look forward to in this movie if the dialogue is below par? The answer to that is obviously "Godzilla"... ...And the sad truth is that the audience doesn't see much of Godzilla. Godzilla doesn't make a REAL appearance until 40 or so minutes into the movie, but even then, we only see him sporadically. And in the few fights that we're treated to, the combat is constantly interrupted with useless dialogue. And some of that dialogue is added in just to tell us that the monsters are fighting - what a waste. To me, it just gets very annoying when even the fight scenes are interrupted by dialogue that's neither important nor entertaining. In the climactic battle featuring Godzilla vs. Mothra and King Ghidorah, a majoriy of it is supplanted with more useless dialogue. At one point, the audience could've been treated to a wonderful fight underwater between Godzilla and King Ghidorah. But what happens? As soon as they hit the water, the camera takes us away for the duration of that fight just to let the girl's boring father talk about his boring life. And during that time we're listening to all the human drama, Godzilla and King Ghidorah are fighting underwater (which we don't really see). Not many of us watch Godzilla for the human scenes, but for those who do, this film has an abundance of them. Be warned, though - the human scenes here are very serious, and lack humour. And so, the final battle between Godzilla and Mothra/Ghidorah pretty much misses the mark. That's pretty sad because there's only one more other fight in the movie...and that's between Godzilla and Baragon. Fortunately, this first battle (between Godzilla and Baragon) is extremely fun to watch. Especially when Godzilla is stomping Baragon like a little rodent. On the other hand, that fight is only 5 minutes in length. 5 minutes out of 105 minutes isn't enough to save this movie. And it's not enough for me to recommend this movie for one short battle scene. In conclusion, there just aren't enough monster scenes. In fact, only one monster scene is worth seeing (Godzilla vs. Baragon). There is an incredible amount of time spent on BORING human scenes. Even DURING the few monster scenes we get to see, the focus constantly reverts back to excessive amounts of screentime for even MORE human scenes. It goes without saying that this is NOT a good monster movie. And it's definitely not a good "Godzilla" movie.

Review: Hey, I'm not complaining. This is the best piece of rubber-suit mayhem to cross over the pond in at least ten years. Hey, it's not as socially relevant as "Gojira" or as downright fun as "Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla", but it's better than "Godzilla 2000" and certainly better than that piece of expensive computer-generated garbage that (sane) men call "Fraudzilla". And maybe they didn't keep Varan and Angilas, but at least they dropped Ourga and Matthew Broderick. Lets hope this is the Sean Connery of Godzilla films, here to rip the franchise out of the Lazenbine hands of the past.

Summary: One of the best EVER!!!
Review: This is the best Godzilla film to have come down the pipe in a long time! I watched it in awe and with the enthusiasm I had watching past Godzilla films as a child! The special efects are outstanding, including the big guy's facial expressions! The battle scenes are excellent as well as numerous! This movie, although set in present day, is more or less a sequel to the original Godzilla movie and one must set aside all the other movies to follow the flow. Godzilla makes his return as the bad guy wreaking destruction upon Japan until Bargon, Mothra, King Ghidorah and the millitary rise to beat him down! Watch for the intense power from Godzilla's breath weapon, it is to die for!!! This is Godzilla at his best, a must have for any Godzilla collector! Athough there is still some "cheeze", I give this film 5 stars!!! ENJOY!!!

Summary: GMKB: Great Movie Kicks Butt
Review: Back in August 2003, I found out that Godzilla vs. Megaguirus (2000) and GMK (2001) where going to be on the Sci-Fi channel. I taped them, and GvM was great, but GMK was AWESOME! It's definately the best American version of a Godzilla film I've ever seen (I haven't seen any Japanese versions of the Godzilla films, sadly. I really want to see the original, uncut Godzilla movie WITHOUT Burr)! The story ignores all the other movies in the series except for the first, like G2K and GvM (but 2002's Godzilla X Mechagodzillla has a direct sequel, 2003's Godzilla X Mothra X Mechagodzilla: Tokyo S.O.S.). It is about Godzilla reappearing in 2001 and wrecking havoc in Japan. However, there are three Guardian Monsters: Baragon, Mothra, and King Ghidorah. The movie centers around Godzilla duking it out with them. Everything in this movie is great. The acting makes you actually care about some of the characters. The music, by the Hesei Gamera's composer Kou Otani, is the best score since Godzilla vs. Destroyer (1995). And, the special effects are outstanding! They're as good as GINO, Godzilla In Name Only (1998)! All four monsters look great, and Mothra finally looks cool. But my favorite monster is Godzilla! He is charcoal gray, unlike G2K and GvM, had a more dinosaurian look, with white spines, and devastating thermonuclear breath. But why favorite feature on Godzilla is his eyes. They are pupiless and are white, making him look a little more scarier than usual. Shusuke Kaneko (Gamera: GOTU through G3: Revenge of Iris) directs, making his Godzilla debut. Anyway, the greatest Godzilla movie I've seen yet! 5/5

Summary: BEST GODZILLA MOVIE EVER!
Review: I own the Region 2 and Region 3 versions of this movie and have watched each dvd at least 10 times. It has everything you want from a Godzilla movie, lots of destruction, excellent monster battles, the best special effects, the coolest and darkest music, and most of all, Godzilla returns to his roots as a force of destruction. This is also the first movie where I actually cared for what was going to happen with the human characters. Back to Godzilla, his suit is definitely the best I have ever seen, and matches his power. I give the movie a 5/5. As for the DVD, well, you get the English Dubbed version, along with the original Japanese language. Unfortunately the subtitles are actually dubtitles, so they follow the dialog from the dub rather than the Japanese translations, so there are a lot of lines that are messed up. Still, if you cannot get the R2 or R3 dvd, this is definitely a must buy.

Review: REJOICE! TriStar is finally releasing Godzilla films in JAPANESE with ENGLISH SUBTITLES-the way they should be seen. (There's a dubbed version on this disc as well if you still want that childhood feeling of watching a monster movie on Saturday morning). Not only do we get the original Japanese, we also get 5.1 stereo and enhanced widescreen (which is VERY important with a subtitled film when you watch it on a widescreen TV). As for the film itself: I'll admit I was a bit disappointed, considering that it is the first Godzilla film directed by Shusuke Kaneko, who had done so well with the Gamera series. Kaneko radically alters the science-fiction approach of the last decade of Godzilla films and aims for spiritual/fantasy backdrop. He also drastically re-invents Godzilla, turning him for the first time into pure evil (instead of a destructive force of nature or radiation gone wrong, as in the first movie). This will bother some Godzilla fans and seems a step in the wrong direction. It's just a bit too "out there," and not in keeping with the other films. Kaneko tends to let the mystical angle of the plot get away from him, often making the story muddled and confusing, and the monster's appearances and reasons for existing just don't seem to mix together. The monster fights aren't as exciting as in the previous "Godzilla vs. Megaguirus," although the effects are tremendous and creative. It's just that the film never shoves itself over the top into the super-thrilling realm that it should. The drawn-out underwater finale also hurts the pacing, leaving us with the human characters for too long when Godzilla needs to be the focus. The electronic music score is also a miscalculation: it's different, but it isn't very exciting. On the other hand, the film can certainly be furious, and whether you dislike this incarnation of Godzilla or not, he's still cool and incredibly dangerous. The new suit is meant to be a throwback to the 1954 suit, with a few demonic additions (like clear white eyes with no pupils-scary!). The effects are the best ever seen in a Godzilla film. Mothra flies in spectacular ways never before attempted. King Ghidorah looks a bit stunted (his necks should be longer), but he's still the best enemy Godzilla ever faced. And, strangely enough, lesser-known beast Baragon really comes across well. His fight with Godzilla at the film's mid-point is actually the best action scene in the film. And I will admit: as a one-time re-take on the Godzilla myth, it can be pretty interesting. (The next film, "Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla," gets back to the science-fiction approach.) It's an experiment. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But hey, it's still a Godzilla films, so fans: grab it now. Casual fans: you might want to see "Godzilla vs. Megaguirus" and "Godzilla 2000" first, but I definitely recommend getting this as well. We need to encourage TriStar to give us more! ROAR ON, GODZILLA!

Summary: Pretty good movie
Review: I am a diehard fan of the new movies and enjoyed this one, but was a little disappointed in the Godzilla suit used. I like the one from the previous two films better. This one just seemed a little fake looking and his head waggled around a little too much. King Ghidora was a little disappointing too. He looked a little goofy and his wings were so much smaller and they barely flapped. Although the Baragon monster was great. The action in the movie was also very good.
