Rating: Summary: Emotionaly Stirring and Worthy of Praise Review: After recently viewing this film, I have to say that Kevin Costner did a magnificent job with The Postman. It makes the audience remember patriotism and stirs the American Spirit deep inside as it entertains and captivates. Not once during this movie did I grow bored...of course there are a couple parts that are not very well acted, or could have been changed to make them better, but this movie is still one of the best post-apocalyptic movies of our time. Congratulations, Kevin Costner, you did a great job.
Rating: Summary: A waste of time... Review: I rented this movie this weekend with my wife and a really good friend. By reading the description of the film my wife thought this movie must be nice, so we agreed to give it a try. What a waste of time! First there is too much unecessary violence, second the story line is just stupid and retarded. American Postmans, with guns, are restoring the goverment and saving the world from evil. What a great tale! We basically could not finish the movie... it deserves less then a star.
Rating: Summary: excellent Review: don't be fooled by the negative reviews folks. this movie is truly an epic: an epic that glorifies hope. i can't really describe it any better, you have to see it for yourselves.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful!!!! Review: There is only one word to describe this movie: FANTASTIC! The storyline was excellent and the picture and sound quality blew me away. I reccommend this movie to everyone!
Rating: Summary: This is a Great Movie!!!! Review: Defying Hollywood conventional wisdom, this movie is what blockbusters should be: they should be about something. Forget that crap Will Smith and Adam Sandler make, this is the real thing. Costner makes intelligent movies. Unfortunately, most Americans aren't that bright and like their movies dumbed-down for them. Costner makes a 3 hr smart movie, it's called ego-driven. Gimme a break. This movie has everything going for it and then some. Not a let-down at all.
Rating: Summary: Oh My Gosh! Review: Thank goodness I don't have a personality that easily succumbs to what other people think. This movie was GREAT! I did have some reservations due to the length, but watched it on HBO. Kevin Kostner is da man! I loved Waterworld too. I have yet to watch a film of his and dislike it. We all have different taste, and that is why I forgive those that hated this one. It's not action-packed throughout, but the dialog is good and the scenery is great. There is a lot of thoughtfullness and spirit. If you haven't seen it - take a chance. GOOD JOB KEVIN! Keep it up.
Rating: Summary: Long and boring Review: When i heard the reviews and comments from peapole whove seen it i thought "Wow,everybody hated it,then i MUST like it" well i saw it and i almost fell asleep after the first hour. Then in the middle of the movie they start the postal service and i thought "OK now they start going against the Bad general and his men, gonna be some fighting COOL" but noooo it just gets more boring with its stupid american patriotism for the last two hours, and finally in the end i thought, this is it,the big fight the grea END BATTLE,and again its noooo its almost like Kevin Costner runs out of money and ruins this one too.And when the movie ends i thought"This is the most boring moveie ive ever seen".The soundtrack WAS great and was the only good thing in the movie.
Rating: Summary: Snore Review: The Postman was way too long, boring, and the plot was quite, well, pathetic. Sorry, this movie sinks as low as a movie can sink. I admire Kevin Costner's performances, but even he couldn't save this snoozer. The Postman is a movie not worth making in the first place. I left the movie theater halfway through the movie and got my money back, and waited for HBO to air it to see the end. I shouldn't have watched the end, you can tell what it is at the halfway mark in the movie. The plot is so incredibly thin that it makes the plot of Bloodsucking Freaks look ingenious, and that's not saying much. If you can't stand boring, plotless movies (who can...) don't see this (this means EVERYONE! DON'T SEE IT!)
Rating: Summary: The Postman - "He can deliver my mail any day" Review: I've seen this movie for the first time today, and will watch it again, I think it was a great film and found nothing boring about it even though it went for 3 hours, also this a great effort by Giovanni Ribisi and he should keep up the good work and Kevin Costner should ignore the bad reviews and focus on the good ones. To burtus@ms18.hinet.net from Asia and the viewer from Taipei, Taiwan, have any of you seen Entrapment, Sean Connery is 42 years Cathrine Zeta Jones's senior and old enough to be her grandfather and there pairing worked extreamley well, it's a hollywood thing people it's what sells the films they are not going to pair two fifty year olds together and expect people to watch, a younger woman and and older man has always worked in that industry, so think about what your saying before you review another film online
Rating: Summary: Feel Good Movie with a tremendous (DVD) sound track Review: This movie has the first or second (along with The Eagles' "Hell Freezes Over") best sound track I have heard on my digital sound system. Worth five stars just for that.Beautiful scenery, intelligent dialog, sexy characters. Moralistic story. Uplifting ending. Dare to be different. Get a good sound system and enjoy!
