Summary: What else could a guy ask for in a movie?
Review: Lots of action, hot ladies, & co-ed showers...what else could a guy ask for? This is a must see for any guy whose a guy.

Summary: The ULTIMATE Romantic Comedy!!!
Review: Verhoeven triumphs again with generous portions of satire and special effects in the tradition of "Robocop"!! This film is an adaptation of Heinlein's classic novel, placing a fascist twist on a tale which glorifies the role of the military in defending republican democracy. It is also the ultimate chick flick/romantic comedy, with lovely and touching scenes such as when Diz has just blown the head off of a giant bug and turns to celebrate with Johnny, when, suddenly...You'll need the tissue handy!

Summary: Brilliant, underrated sendup of the "Top Gun" genre
Review: Many critics, evidently unfamiliar with the work of Leni Reifenstahl and Frank Capra -- as well as with Verhoeven's earlier Dutch art-house work -- didn't understand the first thing about this film. But ST is easily the most hilarious parody of gung-ho war movies since "Dr. Strangelove." Five stars.

Summary: Fantastic!
Review: It amazes me that this film is not more highly-acclaimed for its special effects, especially the cgi "bug" aliens. The cgi elements are seemlessly blended into the film and flawless in appearance and affect. The story is great-Heinlein classic! (Want to know more?!) The situations are often strangely comical. I never tire of watching this movie. Highly recommended.

Summary: classic sci-fi with humor
Review: Just like a comic book....with awesome special effects. It is in my "favorites" box of DVD's with Evil Dead and Princess Bride.
I tell everyone about it..Very, very cool. I HIGHLY recommend it !

Summary: Can't help myself, I think this movie is fun.
Review: The acting isn't that great & the story isn't the best, but there is just something about this movie I can't get enough of. Now fighting large insects that take hundreds of bullets to kill is not the greatest idea in the world, but the special effects, sound, and action are quite excellent. This movie moves right along too. The action never seems to stop whether its training to be a Citizen(which seems to be the only way you can do many things like be a politician or have a baby) Oor fighting "The Bug".And not all of the main characters make it through this movie alive. I have only had the DVD for about 3 weeks, but I have watched it 8 times. Would be a five star movie if there was better acting. But for the special effects & action, this is definitely a good movie.

Summary: Good effects/picture, bizarre script
Review: I must confess I didn't read the 500+ reviews here, but of those I read, many saw the blithely fascistic tone of the film as being "ironic," "subversive," etc. I must have missed something. At first I assumed that the cheerful retro-50s propaganda commercial that begins this film was intended as sarcasm. However, everything that occurs in the film supports the goofy value system portrayed, and nothing contradicts it, except for the one kid's parents, who are killed - apparently as a result of their "unpatriotic" attitude.

If there's anything subtle about this film, it's buried under so much gore and jingoistic blather that it's completely unrecognizable. What's left is an ugly film that does nothing to indicate there's anything wrong with the world view that Heinlein's book apparently satirized. I would never let an impressionable child see this sickening film.

Summary: New age of big bugs
Review: Ive been a fan of the "big bug" flicks since first viewing "Them" as a youngster. Starship Troopers, is a modern, 50's genre sci-fi classic. The sound and visual FX are a marvel and the movie does manage to capture the magic of the "creature features" of old. High tech "big bugs" are out to destroy earth and its a galaxy spanning battle to save mankind. Great fun.
I dont know what this is pictured with my review but my review deals with the original movie!

Summary: This is truly In-your-Face Sci-Fi
Review: I think by far this was put together very well, You can tell the research was done on this in some aspects such as the boot camp which it shows a good sense of realism. Everything that leads up to the actual combat scenes is a wonderful buildup of staging. I say this was very well done. It had brought back memories of my high school years and enlisting into service right after with some buddies of mine. Most movies and books that depict war usually revolves around fighting humans here, but this opens your eyes to the possibility of something even more terrible happening. This movie deserves a sequel.

Summary: Both Cheesecake and Farce
Review: Starship Troopers works on many levels. First, the Sci-Fi is fun and comic book style. Second, the Action is non-stop and interesting. Third, Denise Richards. Fourth, the story is a thinly veiled political farce. Five, the bugs are great. And did I mention, Denise Richards?
