Summary: Best MARVEL movie to date
Review: If you didn't like the movie, or it didn't make sense to you, then you either have a very low I.Q. or you're just bashing it because it's a COMIC BOOK MOVIE.
It is a VERY good COMIC BOOK MOVIE, most of it was a little exagerated, but it is totaly believable, & theoretically possible.
I totally Recommend it. Remember that the HULK is NOT a super-hero, he's a big green monster who is trying to get in touch with himself & escape the bad guys.
The best thing about this movie is that by the end, it doesn't appear as if it will have any sequels. (unlike Spider-man, Daredevil, X-men, & stuff)
Even if it does, this movie will be unique, & stand apart from any sequels that it may & probaly will have.
This movie stands WAY apart from ALL other COMIC BOOK MOVIES, if you have seen one than you have NOT seen them all, watch this one & you will not be dissapointed.

Summary: Worst movie ever.....almost
Review: I had hopes that this movie would be good. I am a fan of the comic-book-turned-movie films but this was a total waste of time. Director Ang Lee's split screen, picture in picture effects were distracting and overdone. The script was atrocious, and the acting even more so. Then there were the CG effects. After seeing flawless integrations of totally CG characters in movies such as Gollum in Lord of the Rings The Two Towers and Dobby in Harry Potter. Those films show that you can have a central character who is CG and have them become a real part of the story. The effects in this movie were bad enough I'm surprised ILM would even acknowledge they were responsible for them. The film starts out slow and never really picks up, even in the scenes where the Hulk is smashing things. I would have taken a nap but every time I would doze there would be something loud that would wake me up again. And the implied animal experimentation really got to me. It wasn't necessary and should never have been made a part of the plot. I would have walked out but my husband was really into the movie so I was stuck. But he also like Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (The only movie I think I have liked less than this one) so go figure. Two and a half hours of my life wasted. Don't waste your money on this one.

Summary: Deep, Dark and Original
Review: When I saw The Hulk in it's second weekend of release, I was suprised by how empty the theater was, and I still am. I know there was some bad buzz surrounding the film, but I thought it was excellent. The story was deeper and darker than that of 2002's Spider-Man, and I really enjoyed it. It was really a tale of science mixed in with the relationship of a father and son. It was subtle and didn't slap you in the face, the ideas of a son trying to break free from his father in all ways, mental and physical, was intriguing. I also thought that the CGI was great. I look forward to buying this on DVD, and I hope there's a sequel.

Summary: The Big-Angry-Green Man Saved This Movie
Review: I like sad melodrama. I like loud action-adventure. The Hulk has both, which is sign that it is either a great film or a great effort. It belongs to the later. Let me explain:Director Ang Lee had the right approach in Hulk. Hulk is a different kind of superhero. Not only does he NOT use his power to combat villains, he doesn't even have control over his supernatural ability. Instead of fighting evil, he mostly just frightens unsuspecting citizens. He is closer in spirit to a 'monster' than a 'hero.' So how do you make the audience feel sympathetic for a monster? In Ang Lee's case, he uses psychological drama about bad childhood, repressed memory, and dysfunctional father-child relationships to spice up the characters. The first half of the movie is spent talking -- and talking ' about relationships, childhoods, and suppressed anger. It is not necessary a bad thing to make the audience wait for the Hulk. It worked before; just like the original Superman takes its sweet time to drape Christopher Reeves in a costume, and the 'Titanic' waits for more than an hour before it hits the ice berg. Lee takes his time to tell the story, but the problem is that the story isn't very interesting, and compounded by the fact that Eric Bana and Jennifer Connelly has absolutely zero chemistry. And as good actors as they are, they lack the charisma that leading actors/actresses have that carry movies. Needless to say, I was elated when Hulk finally makes his grand entrance. He may have destroyed buildings, tanks, cars, and even lives in the film; but he surely saved this movie. I never thought I'd ever said that in a psychological drama, the CGI animated monster is the sole reason for the price of admission. The three stars are for him!

Summary: Just don't piss him off.
Review: Entertainment. A word that encompasses a wide arena of views, ideas, and sense manipulation. I used to be entertained by comic books with their complex, edgy characters and inventive action set pieces. Comics were the forum for huge ideas that could be believable due to the hard work of the artist and writer working in unison toward making dreams reality. HULK might not be a dream come true, but it was damned entertaining. Although hindered by forgivable flaws the film was exciting and well made, and the special fx were excellent. The HULK did not look like SHREK's uncle as early naysayers had reported, I thought he looked great. The effects were effective enough for the viewer to beleive in the character and what happens to him, I think that's a success in any film. The action sequences were expertly staged by an able director and both leads do a great job adding conviction to their roles. The only problem with seemingly most big budget summer extavaganzas is the fact that the story gains super momentum up until act three where it loses steam. The end of HULK should have been a helluva lot more exciting, instead we are left with a fx hodgepodge of a conclusion that doesn't explain itself well enough to fully know what had transpired. There are also a few scenes throughout that are trying to be new and creative but end up being tacky. All of the negatives are overtaken by the sheer size of the film in all aspects, it is after all, a big movie. A solid flick-The second best MARVEL adaptation to date behind both X-MEN films (and looks more authentic than TOBEY McGUIRE's weaker CGI alter ego), HULK indeed doth smash.

Summary: Reminds Me of "King Kong"
Review: Eric Bana (The Hulk) and Jennifer Connelly (his girlfriend Betty) are perfectly cast in this romantic science fiction drama. I did not expect the relationship between the big green guy and his gal to play such a huge role in the movie, but it is a touching film...slow at the outset...but awesome once Bruce unleashes the Jekkyl in his Hyde. This movie reminded me of the 1934 classic "King Kong". (Say what? Is Paul insane?) No fooling. It really does. If you recall, at the end of Kong (once the planes shoot him down and he falls hundreds of stories from the Empire State Building) a cop says, "the planes got him." Mr. Darrell, who kidnapped Kong from Skull Island, corrects the officer and says, "No it wasn't the planes that killed him...it was beauty that killed the beast." If you like that type of corny sci fi/romance, the BIG GREEN GUY is a must. The film editing is intriguing. There are several split screen scenes from different angles during the same sequence. It was confusing at first, but after awhile it was hypnotizing. Good job By Director Ang Lee, who won the Academy Award for "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" in 2000. The special effects are awesome. What these guys can do these days is just spectacular. Wait'll you see how the Hulk gets around once he's unleashed. Actually, I wish I'd taken my dog Stan with me. No, I wouldn't take him for the company...I enjoy going to flicks alone. Stan would have loved the bionic dogs who unleash themselves on BIG GREEN and BETTY. In afterhtought, I spared him an evening of nightmares and sleeplessness. Jennifer Connelly is simply beautiful. I could look into her eyes for hours and not say a word. She has the "Plane Jane" look, but only because she doesn't need makeup to accent her natural beauty. Eric Bana was impressive in the starring role...but Jennfier steals the show (at least for this guy). If you grew up with Hulk comic books...enjoyed such movies as "Spiderman", "Superman" (with Christopher Reeves) and, of course, "King Kong"...you'll love "The Hulk". I really don't know what category to place this film in. It is a romantic drama, sci fi thriller, fantasy feature...and simply an entertaining classic that follows the comic book storyline to the tee (GREAT JOB). You will be surprised at who plays the Hulk's father. I don't want to tell you, because I want you to be as surprised as I was...and he does a good job. On a scale of 1-10. 10 being the highest, I rate "The Hulk" an 8.5. It would have received a higher rating, but the editing has too many down moments. Once the action scenes begin, you don't want them to stop. But Ang Lee had to build the structure of the true comic book character at the same time. I really don't recommend it to small children. It will not hold their attention long enough. Take 'em to see Nemo.

Summary: Hulk smash Box Office... and lousy critics.... grrrr...
Review: Nag, nag, nag. That's all the credit this movie ever gets. It makes me sick. Look, CGI has gifted us with wonders of the world that we would never have been able to experience in movies before it. Ang Lee is a directing genius who gave us CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON and he knows what he is doing. Anyway, back to The Hulk. When I sat in the theatre, no one laughed, and they barely moved. They only "Oooohed" and "Aaaaahed" as the big green machine weaved a path of endless destruction on the silver screen. This movie was an exciting and mind-bending experience that filled me with shock and awe as I sat in my little padded seat. The 15 foot CGI Hulk does look believable to anyone who has an imagiation. The other critics who disliked it probably hated ET and JURASSIC PARK too. Another unfair complaint about this movie is that the plot was complicated. I took Josh to see this one and he's a braincell away from being mentally retarded, and he picked up the plot as easily as the Hulk picked up an armored tank. Even my multi-time movie date, Cassie, got the plot. If a chick can understand the Hulk, why can't everyone else? Maybe its because most people don't want to give this movie the chance it deserves. It hosts some spectacular performances and a deep original storyline (something almost impossible for a comic book movie). I promise you that the movie is exciting and heart-pounding, even when our favorite not-so-jolly green giant isn't smashing the landscape and millions of dollars worth of military equipment to pieces. Most critics won't give this one justice, so I will. Go see The Hulk and I promise you - as always - you will be entertained.

Summary: This movie will make YOU angry
Review: I love movies, plain and simple. I went into this movie with no expectations whatsoever, so this opinion is not based on something that I was expecting to see. The HULK is absolutely one of the worst movies I have seen for quite sometime. And no, I wasn't the only one who thought this way...THERE WERE PEOPLE WALKING OUT OF THE THEATER!!! That should give you an indication of how bad this movie really was. When Banner transforms into the Hulk, it is ridiculous. He is now about 15+ feet tall and looks like the offspring of the JOLLY GREEN GIANT, on steroids of course. Why a real person was not hired to play the role is beyond me; it would have been a darker movie, and a better movie at that. The HULK's skin is also bullet resistant; he can jump and fly for what appears a mile or more; he can swing 40 ton tanks around AND he can deflect missiles. Oh yeah, there's also the (hilarious) scene where he fights three dogs that have his gene. This was truly the only entertaining scene in the movie because I don't think I've ever seen anyone/anything swing a dog into a tree and then punch it in the face. Not only is Eric Bana lifeless as Banner, but Ang Lee's entire film has no emotional effect at all. Anyway, I've spent too much time writing about a movie that I despised. If you need to see this overblown piece of garbage, simply rent it and save some money.
