Review: i have to admit, when i saw the this movie the first time i was stunned by the great visual effects and the amazing martial arts. watching the movie a second time however, i realized how annoyingly pathetic the dialouge and plot is. it seems as if the writer just wrote a story to justify the special effects, not as if the visuals support the plot. there are huge gaps that are left unexplained and are just justified because "this is the science-fiction and who knows what might be possible in the future". and by the way, reeves is a terrible actor and it is very tiring to listen two his dull voice and ridiculous lines for 2 straight hours. this movie is terrible.

Review: I have to say that this movie suffers from "scream syndrome".What this means is that a movie that is not even that good is hailed by the masses as a classic.Not that this is a terrible film. But give me a break, when Keanu "dies" he comes back to life just because that woman said she loved him? Thats as cheesy as the ending of "The Fifth element",in which we find out that the fifth element is of course,love.And its also a cop out for screenwriters who had a cool beginning but didnt know how to end it.The story is lame and predictable and could have been written by a 16 year old.Keanu is also not at his greatest here, I understand that the ladies like him for his looks...but hes simply a moron in this film.He spends half the movie with a "what the hell is going on?" look on his face.I had the same look on my face when I realized I paid to see this.Dont waste your $ just see this on cable.

Summary: Great Movie, Nice Features, Excellent DVD Transfer
Review: I have to take exception with some of the reviews written aboyt this DVD. The transfer from film was excellent,(NO Grain that I can see and the sound quality was excellent). The special effects are truly OUTSTANDING!!! There is a scene where a bullet comes straight at the camera that makes me jump everytime. I consider this DVD a MUST BUY! The only thing I can fault the DVD for is where they put the layer change,(right in the middle of a word). True you only miss the 'n' in the word 'in' but it could have been done 5 seconds either way and avoided this. If you are looking for a GREAT movie this is it.

Review: I have used this film for several quarters in my literature classes -- students went to the theatre on a field trip. This is a classic hero's tale in the search for truth. The archetypal images play to the viewer in a post-modern gothic film with an intriguing but ultimately timeless plot. The film gets better and better with repeated viewings. I highly recommend it for a myriad of reasons.

Review: I have watched this twice at the theater and now own the DVD. I am looking forward to a sequel! However... what is with the green cast on the screen in the first 30 minutes...bad DVD copy?

Summary: This could very well be the perfect movie.
Review: I haven't paid to see the same movie over and over again in a theater since Planet of the Apes when I was a kid. The kind of movie I'm going to watch over and over on DVD and still see something new every time. This film grabs your attention from the first moment and you never 'wake up' until Marilyn Manson during the credits. My favorite movie, next to An Officer and a Gentleman.

Review: I heard so much about this movie that I had to try it myself. I liked most of it except for the dumb ending. I also didn't like the fact that in order to get extras - a separate DVD has to be purchased. Disks like this should be boycotted. The special effects are fine, but overloaded (just as said in Amadeus: too many notes). Rent this DVD if you have to, but there's no real reason to buy this one. Wait for one with a different ending (hope there is one on the editing room floor) and more special effects.
