Summary: SEE THIS MOVIE SEVERAL TIMES!!!!
Review: How can I start....THE MATRIX IS THE MOST BEAUTIFULLY STUNNING MOVIE THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!! Yes, believe the hype..THERE ISN'T ANOTHER MOVIE THAT EVEN COMES CLOSE TO THE BRILLIANT SPECIAL EFFECTS!!! I heard the hype so I went and rented the VHS edition of The Matrix(the DVD was out). I watched it 7 times in the last 3 days. I discovered something new every time I saw it. The first time I watched The Matrix I was so stunned by the special effects that I really didn't follow the story. The second time I watched it I learned a little about the story but was still stunned by the special effects. After watching it 7 times I finally learned that the story is just as brilliant!! I suppose the best way to describe The Matrix is "YOU WILL BE IN AWE!!" And this coming from myself who really doesn't like digital special effects.

NO CHEEZY EFFECTS HERE FOLKS!!!!

I ordered the DVD version of The Matrix. I can't wait to get it!! If the VHS version is this good- I know that the DVD will be awesome!!

BELIEVE IT!! THE MATRIX IS ALREADY A CLASSIC!!! IT IS AS GOOD AS EVERYONE SAYS- BUY IT NOW!!!!!

Summary: My Favorite Movie
Review: How can you not love this movie?? The story behind it is something that should make everyone think, and every actor/actress was WONDERFULLY cast. The Wachowski brothers did such a nice job with the special effects, that not only was the movie something intellectual, but it was also a nice treat for action-lovers. The good guys were believable, and the bad guys were Evil. What was not to like? I personally can't wait until The Matrix 2 and 3 come out!! This has to be my favorite all-time movie!!

Summary: Man, this ROCKS!
Review: How could anyone not like this movie! "The Matrix" has the most spectacular special effects ever seen in a motion picture, the acting is flawless by both Reeves and Fishburne, it never gets boring, has a fantastic story line and plot and always keeps you on the edge of your seat. What else can you ask for? My favorite part is the helicopter scene. If you've not seen it yet go check it out! It will completly blow you away!

Summary: What is the Nature of "Reality?"
Review: How do you define "Reality?" This film provokes those uninclined to question the deeper meanings of life and states of being, to ponder theories of "What is" & "What if." For those of us who already ponder the Big Questions, this film is an action-packed, visually-pleasing adventure into the concepts we play with in our heads. If you study Hermetic Science, this movie seems to depict a great representation of the basic structure of Astral Travel & the Astral Environment. If not, it seems a very good example of how Dreams work..... So how do you know you are not Dreaming, right now, as you read these words? Are you jacked-in? Will my words disintegrate into a thousand shards of triangular mirrors and leave you face-to-face with the reality your sitting on the edge of a deep chasm...falling-forward into darkness? Or, will you.....Wake Up?

Summary: Lots of effects. Weak story
Review: How sad that they took an idea that was spawned by the genius of Neuromancer, and decided in the end to fight the Bad Guys of the Matrix with Guns! To take a smart idea, then decide to fight the virtual representatives of the Machine with guns is ludicrous. They had a chance to add a smart end, but they failed hard! How can you fight a non-physical being with guns. Would have been so much better had they tried to create an infinite loop or logical conundrum that would have caused the Matirx to overload or crash. But guns! It's like shooting a movie screen from the audience so the bad guys don't get you. They were manifestations of the Matrix, not 3D beings that guns would kill.

Summary: 1999's Worst Offering
Review: How so many people loved this film, I will never know. It was AWFUL! I had to walk out of the theater during the ending (the "I love you" scene, how anybody can even LIKE this film after seeing that scene is WAY beyond me). Gag me with a spoon. Oh, wait a minute, there IS no spoon. Maybe if this film gave itself an injection of self-mockery, it would have been worth the time, but alas... For those who hated this film, see "Fight Club," and I promise, you will not be disappointed. It is sort of the thinking man's "Matrix," at least as far as style is concerned. Also check out "Dark City," which this film so blatantly ripped off.

Summary: Amazing Special Effects, But Trite and Inconsequential
Review: How this movie got in the top 100 on imdb.com is beyond me. Sure, it is a great visceral experience and a great show for eye candy, but it lacks a deeper message, characters we identify with, and it borrows heavily from the alternate reality laid out in the Terminator films. You all probably know the plot: Keanu Reeves is here to save the world. The machines will do anything to stop him. I saw an interview on TV with Joe Pantoliano (Cypher), and he said it was a religious allegory. I think it tries to be that, but Neo is a cyber-crook who just happens to discover his abilities, as opposed to Jesus, who knew who he was all along and did no wrong. Morpheus is supposed to be John the Baptist (minus the locusts), Carrie-Anne Moss is, well, I don't know. And Cypher is, of course, Judas. That might seem somewhat substantial, but more character development. The two hours breezed by, they could have taken a few more minutes with Neo or Trinity. Morpheus, the Agent, and Cypher were the best characters. Also the 'machines vs. humans' future, envisioned in Terminator, is given a twist here, and there is a liquid metal scene, I guess to pay homage. In the novel Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger, Holden Caulfield describes a girl who, because she talked inteligently, couldn't be classified as smart or dumb. This movie is kind of like that. It is popular because it offered something new, but it also drudged out some old stuff too. In twenty years this film will be forgotten. But for visceral entertainment, it does pretty well.

Summary: I LOVED THE FLYING MONKEYS AND THE TALKING APPLE TREES
Review: How'd they do that thing with the Great and Mighty Oz? I loved the part where the girl dumped the water on the witch

Summary: Excellent movie...
Review: However, did anyone notice that 'Neo' is an anagram of 'One'?

That's right! Of COURSE you did!

Summary: A mind bending thrill ride!
Review: I absolutely (aside from mindless comedies like monty python and dumb & dumber) love movies that make you think, or even watch them again to fully understand the plot. If you own a DVD player, this is a must have because the music and special effects are incredible. It really makes you wonder whether the reality you precieve is real or not. If you've ever had the feeling that you're in a first-person video game, or if you just love a good mind bender, this movie's for you!
