Rating: Summary: Missed V the first time around Review: I really enjoyed this mimi series, I must have seen a few episodes of the sequel, as I thought it was bad. Did not know this original version was ever made. I am new to dvd, but I found the picture for the most part good. I have made some adjustments to my connections on the dvd and hope the colors are less red. I might come back and re-rate it later. It was good to see Mark Singer again. the others I'm not familiar with. But overall the acting was great!! Yaaah69
Rating: Summary: One of the worst movies I've ever seen Review: It's the middle of the cold war, and nations across the world agree to share equal knowledge of technology gifted to us by an alien race. HELLO.I bought this DVD because of the reviews I read here. But it turned out to be one of the worst movies I've ever seen. The writing, the acting, the plot--you know all those elements that make a movie? Not one of those was done well enough in this movie to leave me and my family with a single memorable line to quote afterward. While we watched, we got to a point where, if one more human blundered things with one more stupid, senseless act, we were going to start siding with the aliens. But nothing is completely useless; it can always serve as a bad example. And this movie is a perfect bad example of sci fi.
Rating: Summary: It's about time Review: I recently purchased this DVD, and it is fantastic. I can remember when it first aired in 1983, and this is like a brand new movie. The surround sound and the remastered graphics makes this a collector's item for sure. I cannot wait until The Final Battle hits shelves.
Rating: Summary: Where's the rest Review: Terrific movie; It took me back to when I was allowed to stay up late to watch the original mini series. My only problem is where is the rest of the Movie. The end is not the finished mini series. For example where is the part where the girl who was impregnated by the aliens gives birth to the alien baby and the "Star Child" Remember the twins? Is there going to be a part two to this DVD, if not I'm extrememly disappointed.
Rating: Summary: Great sound Review: The film has a great story i have all the VHS, but the DVD is so wonderfull bacause the sound is incredible. When you hear the sounds of the laser it's perfect
Rating: Summary: V, AN ALLTIME FAVORITE OF MINE. Review: I REMEMBER WATCHING THIS SERIES WHEN I WAS IN MIDDLE SCHOOL. I AM 28 NOW AND I STILL ENJOYED WATCHING IT NOW AS MUCH AS I DID BACK THEN. THE SPECIAL EFFECTS WAS REALLY GOOD FOR 1983. I AM A FAN OF SCI-FI MOVIES AND THIS ONE IS DEFINETELY ON THE TOP OF MY LIST. I RECOMMEND THIS TO EVERYONE WHO ENJOYS SCI-FI MOVIES. I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT DVD WITH THE FINAL BATTLE COMES OUT.
Rating: Summary: They don't make 'em like this anymore! Review: This great Sci-Fi TV miniseries is a wonderful human story set amongst a Sci-Fi adventure with a little mystery mixed in. Sure the effects are outdated, but the story is wonderful. The DVD commentary is really great, too.
Rating: Summary: V: Gets Better With Age Review: I recently purchased the DVD of V. Not only was it a bargain but it was presented in widescreen. The sound was remastered which gave it a brand new feel. The movie itself holds up well. The majority of the special effects don't show many flaws for the digital transfer( this is taking into account that the movie is nearly 20 years old). The special features are some what lacking. Overall I was very pleased with the movie and look forward to The final Battle and the series.

Rating: Summary: Great release of the V mini-series,... Review: This DVD version is pretty good, however the extras just weren't up to par with some of the other DVD fare out there. For example, there's a behind the scenes featurette, but it's not very informative. I got the sense that they pulled film from the cutting room floor and pieced it together, rather than re-edit it into something more entertaining. (Case in point, there's one scene in the featurette that showed Kenneth Johnson telling the crew that they're getting "V" t-shirts. Big whoop-ti-do .) The featurette also just showed more about Kenneth Johnson rather than what "V" was all about. I wish they had included more cast interviews and shown more stuff about what went into the production of the miniseries.Additionally, on the Cast bio section, there's wasn't any detailed information about any of the cast or even of the director. I mean, it would have been nice to have seen what else Kenneth Johnson had done (i.e. Bionic Man/Woman, etc) and what the Stars (i.e. Marc Singer, Jason Bernard, Robert Englund., etc) did before and after "V". Overall, I think the movie/mini-series was a blast. I enjoyed seeing the show after all these years, and I'm quite thankful that it was released on DVD. Hopefully, they'll put "V-The Final Battle" out on DVD and the TV episodes out too. So, if you're interested in buying the DVD just to see the mini-series, definitely buy this....
