Summary: Great story, plot and action!
Review: I agree with all the previous reviews. The action in the final chase scene was incredible. The Road Warrior is an awesome DVD to own.

Summary: Mel Gibson in his best role
Review: He has about 10 lines in the whole movie. Everyone around him is always talking and yelling, but Max says nothing.

This is still the world's best action film, and in widescreen, it makes more sense because you can see what's really going on in every shot.

I remember reading as a kid that this film was made for about $4 million, which was huge compared to the original Mad Max budget. Kevin Costner and James Cameron should learn some lessons from Kennedy/Miller

Summary: The greastest Mel Gibson moive of all time
Review: When I first saw the moive, I was amazed at the high speed chases and the never stopping action. This moive is definatly better than the other Mad Max moives. If you love action moives that will keep you on the edge of your seat, you HAVE to see this moive!!! :)

Summary: This film is more than just car chases and leather.
Review: "The Road Warrior" is my favorite film maybe ever. It is one of the few post apocalyptic films that was made very well. At first glance this film may seem just like an gruesome and bloody action flick. But it is the main character Max that makes this film so great. He has been in the Wasteland so long that he has become "one of them." Though underneath his shell is the Max from the first film "Mad Max." A Max in search of justice and peace for his family. The trait I find most intriguing about this film is how in all their chaotic surroundings the characters still try to stay somewhat civilized and strive to survive in the world they in a way destroyed.

Summary: Greatest Action Movie Ever Made!
Review: If you liked "Aliens" or "Terminator", you HAVE to watch this movie. I think you'll come to the same conclusion I did: "The Road Warrior" is the greatest action movie ever made. You ever hear people rave about the car chases in "The French Connection"? This movie puts them to shame. It also has two of the most memorable villains you're likely to come across, Wez and The Humungous. Check it out!

Summary: A great and mythic adventure
Review: That's right. Mythic. Mad Max is a hero of mythic proportion, the film and the character are very symbolic. It's exciting, evocative and the ending twist has never failed to make me sit back with a knowing smile. I also enjoyed its sequel, Mad Max III: beyond Thunderdome quite a bit, but never cared for the original apart from seeing where Max originated. Not to be missed, a real SF film classic. END

Summary: "Mad"Max defends some oilers against a ruthless biker gang.
Review: I thought this movie was a mind-blowing, edge-of-your-seat experience when I first viewed it at the age of twelve. It has just the right blend of post-nuclear war pessimism, adventure, violence, and science fiction entertainment for three movies. The spectacular culminating chase scene is a feast for the eyes. Countless rip-offs were done following this 1981 film's release, and the whole saga was as phenomenal as this film. But what separates this film from "Mad Max"and "Beyond Thunderdome"was that this adventure epic had not a dull moment to it, and countless viewings later have not toned the film down. This movie should come with a bag of popcorn, it's surely needed. George Miller(the director) has made plenty of good films in his career(example; Lorenzo's Oil), but this is the top if the line. To me and my family, it's the "Gone with the Wind" of adventure films. It has special moments in it, and the cinematography is a plus. Intelligent dialogue abounds, but the conversations in the film take the back seat in this thriller. If ever there was a movie to rent and watch on a Saturday night, this is it. This Australian export is a sure-fire, action-packed viewing experience for those of us who think that they don't make movies like they used to. This is one of those "old-fashioned" adventure films that never lets up. NOTE;The Director's cut DVD version of this film has recovered scenes and has the films original gore restored. Not for the sqeamish. END

Summary: Some people will do anything, for the juice.
Review: Unless he returns on a quest for more juice,"The Road Warrior" remains by far,the best of the three Mad Max films. This time around, max eats old Dog Food from rusty tins, and also happens to think a lot about,er,juice. But lots of maniac cut-throat savages, also dream of an oasis of the prized liquid, because in this future,no juice means no car,no car means no food,no food means no life."The Humungus"(literally)-a hockey mask laden fruitcake leader, high priest to be of the various petrolium substances, commands the savages, and also cherishes a single shot polished posh pistol, inside the case of which it comes-a 1920's style photograph,of,er,Mother and Father? Some truly great action scenes, involving some cool car chases, spectacular crashes, and some bizarre ways to meet your'e death.Max does show he has a heart,by helping some people?Enough of that.Presented on this DVD in original aspect ratio of 2.35/1,the picture is somewhat grainy in a lot of scenes, particuarly those distant panoramic Desert shots, but overall,a clean, stable image, with more highs than lows, never distracts the viewer. The sound however, does justice.Guzzling petrol Engines revving, squeels of bizarre deaths, and "The Humungus" speaks.

Summary: MEN OF THE WORLD, WATCH THIS
Review: This is quite possibly the greatest MAN movie ever made. Cars, guns, blood, exploding heads. I can't even begin to say how much I love this movie. It is truly a fantastic spectacle and the best sequel I've ever seen.

Summary: ROAD WARRIOR: Great Action Movie
Review: In the year 1981, a sequel to the 1979 film "Mad Max" was released in Australia and later in America. Mel Gibson returned in his role as Max Rockatanski. But this time more like an anti-hero and a post-nuclear hero rather than a future cop. This movie is quite different from the first. The story has changed a bit by making it during a post-apocalyptic time period as the result from a nuclear war in Australia. This movie seems like it is just an action movie. There is lots of action in it. Max still has the Canyonero he did at the end of "Mad Max" but loses it in this movie. This time he has a traveling companion which is a dog named Dog. He is killed later in the movie which is something Max loses as well. This story is during a time when gasoline is rare and almost impossible to find. Humanity has no hope and a compound of survivors is guarding the last tanker of fuel. Max does happen to become the key to helping the people sneak it out without the scum outside getting it. This is a great movie even though the first one is better. This one does have a big action conlict at the end. This sure is a strange idea for a sequel to the story of the first film though.
