Summary: Best Movie Ever
Review: Put Terminator in your Top 25 of all time, Life Mag., do it now, if you want to live. It has everything: story (true love, drama, and an unstoppable bulletproof cyborg with a hyperalloy combat chasis), great acting, stunts, and some funked out '80s music. This movie rocks.

Summary: Great movie
Review: This movie shows the full potential that a movie could achieve in '84, except the sound. Although the sound is mono, the sounds are still good in the way they add to the film. 'The Terminator' featured never before used special effects that made it stand out in its time, amazingly enough the sequel also featured advanced visual effects. This movie is a classic, that looks realistic in most areas - especially good for '84 . There are errors in visual effects, as well as the error that shows the terminator with extra cables in arm half way through the film. But this is normal, and 'The Terminator' has far less errors in an average action film.

Summary: This is a great!!!!
Review: This a grat time travel adventure starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as a cyborg (part man, part machine) to comeback through time to kill a seemingly innocent woman (Linda Hamilton). Micheal Biehn is great as a rebel soldier sent back in time to protect her. Schwarzenegger is great as a cyborg and this was one of his best films.

Summary: Sound quality is poor
Review: nothing spectacular about this dvd. sound track is in mono. no special features. i suggest you spend your money on a production that offers more value for the dollar.

Summary: The Battle for the Future Begins Tonight
Review: First of all, I have no problems with the picture or sound quality of this DVD. Apart from the lack of features there is little to diminish this great film on DVD. I would recommend it as one to add to the collection.

As to the film itself - while I like T2 I always finds the first film better. There is a greater sense of danger in this film. The Terminator comes across as a truly frightening and unstoppable killer (the T1000 in T2 just seems like a nice effect) and there is a constant feeling of relentlessness.

The two Terminator films at least represent intelligent time travel films as opposed to the dire Back to the Future movies and their ilk.

I hear that T2:SE will be released on DVD in 2000.

Summary: Great flick, but the monaural soundtrack is disappointing.
Review: The Terminator is a well-crafted sci-fi action movie with a great cast, amazing special effects, and a fantastic plot. Cameron must LOVE Bill Paxton (punk), since he's in just about every one of James' movies. My overall favorite part of the movie, the most unsettling part, is when Reese and company return to their subterranean dwelling, and are followed in by the terminator, who promptly begins gunning everyone (including the dogs) down.

I can't believe that the movie was originally released in mono, since it was from the 1980's. Aside from the soundtrack, I was not thrilled with the DVD version since it lacked all the extra features that some movies (like "The Blues Brothers") have, like "the making of..." or previously unreleased footage, etc. If you've seen "The Terminator," you could probably skip this one. If you're like me, you'll get it anyway.

Summary: Why isn't the DVD anamorphic????
Review: I loved this film in the theaters, but until/unless the widescreen DVD is released in anamorphic format, I'm boycotting it.

Summary: Brilliant!!!
Review: I have seen this film hundreds of times and I still think it's great. It has great special effects ( for its age) and a great story. I love it.

Summary: Oh YEAH, this is good stuff
Review: This movie is James Cameron's greatest achievement. I don't care what anyone says about "Titanic," this movie and "T2" are James Cameron's greatest works. This movie mas it all. Robots from the future, guns, high speed chases, guns, eye gouging, a police station massacre, and more guns. Some dynamite, too. Great special effects, good script, incredibly written plot, and has some genuinely creepy scenes worked into it, too. The musical score is a masterpiece within a masterpiece. Buy this, buy this, buy this.
