Rating: Summary: If you do not like this movie, you're too old! Review: The problem is not within the plot or acting but rather your expectations of the movie. I have for once have realy enjoyed this film. Every one needs to realize that they have in fact long ago out grew these types of sci-fi epics. Quit bickering and leave it for the younger generation to watch.
Rating: Summary: High Expectations Review: I guess in this day, we all have very high expectations of our entertainment and don't want to waste our money on disappointment. I thought Lost In Space was ok, but, then I didn't pay to see it. The special effects were good, but, you can see good special effects on TV shows such as X-Files. I have to admit that I was surprised and, yes, thrilled by Matt LeBlanc's performance. My only other exposure to him is "Friends" and he is the male dumb blonde of that show. So, to see him acting with some intelligence and forcefulness was a treat. After reading some of the other reviews, I have to say in his defense that he is playing a military officer and our Hollywood idea of that is somewhat wooden and stiff. Look at it this way, Matt LeBlanc is much better than that ridiculous token-alien monkey thing. I was able to overlook quite a lot in this movie until they threw that thing in, then my sci-fi sensibilities were definitely offended.Favorite scenes: Will inside the holographic Robot. Dr. Smith as the mutant spider/Smith. Matt LeBlanc wrapped in black leather and especially with the head armour. He can come over and kill spiders in my house anytime.
Rating: Summary: . Review: Thankfully, it barely seems necessary to insist that this is a terrible movie, but I will happily add my two cents to the trashing of it. Because in addition to all of the bad things already cited about this film, I for one didn't even like the special effects. Honestly -- I thought they were terrible. This disappointed me because I was at least hoping for eye candy, but the effects struck me as terribly, painfully computer-generated and tacky. And that stupid little cute creature they bring in, which serves absolutely no purpose other than introducing "the mandatory" cute creature, and which seems so pitifully superimposed on the screen ... geh. A waste of talent, money, film, and most imporantly, my time. : )
Rating: Summary: Ugggghhhhhhh... Review: This is one of the most unsatisfying movies I have ever watched. Man, I haven't seen it in a while (thankfully), so I can't really go into great detail, but the thing that stands out most in my mind about watching it was how much I wanted it to be over. It was just really uninteresting. Rehashed plot, dull, cliched characters, and it relied more on special effects, which have all but ceased to impress me. Not recommended at all.
Rating: Summary: A Dreary Mess Review: This dreary, no fun mess has nothing to offer except excellent special effects and great sets. William Hurt looks embarassed, and I never thought I would see Gary Oldman UNDERPLAY a role. Horrible clumsy script, flat characters, depressiong tone.
Rating: Summary: Lacey Chabert makes this movie PERFECT!!! Review: I always liked SciFi-Movies, but I really enjoyed this one. No stupid aliens, perfect action, and finally LACEY. Her role as Penny R. completes a great movie and makes it even greater. Everyone watching this movie worries about what will happen to Lacey, if she comes back soon and if there'll be the possibility to Cryo-Freeze oneself. Buy this movie!
Rating: Summary: Huh? Review: I don't think I've seen a more confusing film. I guess the best bet is to hit the mute button and just watch. I couldn't find a plot. Heck, there wasn't even an ending. Or a middle. What was this film, anyway? I don't understand why this film has had positive reviews (and "positive" may be stretching it, if you read most of them). In my opinion, this film should have been shelved. It contains no story, no humor, no suspense, no anything. Except interesting things to look at. Therefore, I restate what I said earlier: Hit the mute button. You won't be missing anything.
Rating: Summary: The worst movie I have ever seen. Review: I am NOT kidding, I have never experienced a movie more painful to watch than this one. Everything in this movie seems to be designed to make me cringe for 2 hours: the dialogue, the characters, everything. Not even Gary Oldman could save this film. While the original TV series is forgivable for its campy style, this movie is just plain awful without any redeeming features.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful premise badly written Review: If you read on, you will see many complaints about the acting of various actors in this movie. In truth, the acting is not what is wrong with the film. It is just plain poorly written. Unlike the series, in which Dr. Smith's ubiquious trouble making got very monotonous very quickly, a motion picture using the basic original plot should have been quite entertaining, especially with the modernization of the story (no longer the campy happy TV-family). However, the writer has taken this promising premise and characters and written something with no real cohesion. Regardless of how badly the producers want a sequel, there is no excuse for creating a movie with no real ending - even if everything that had happened up until then had a clear objective (which it didn't). While I did enjoy Gary Oldman's performance the most (but then, he's my favorite actor in this cast), I was terribly disappointed that Dr. Smith was so one-dimensional. Even with his being a continual trouble-maker in the series, he did still have some redeeming characteristics. They removed them all for this movie. Also, I have to agree with the reviews that disliked the computer-generated alien. The character is acceptable, but the graphics are much too cartoon-like.
Rating: Summary: OK Review: It was very very good!I have seen this film four times
