Summary: Truly insane comedy.
Review: Premise: A guy stuck on a satelite (of love) builds some robot buddies and is forced to watch cheesy movies for the pleasure of his evil boss back on Earth. Huh? Seems to makes no sense, right? Exactly. An amazing piece of comedy, with a sick, twisted wit ("What do you think is in there?" ":servo: A pudding?")(Look! His feet are sticking out of the bottom). A great buy, but be sure and grab the rest of the MST3K videos, too.

Summary: Yuck!
Review: This movie did a poor injustice to the series as a whole. the comments made no sense and I almost fell asleep during it. the only thing that makes this movie buyworthy is the shorts in between the movie. I hate to say it but I rather watch Red Zone Cuba or Eegah then this one. Don't count me wrong, I love MST 3K, I got all their tapes but this one was a bomb.

Summary: Great!
Review: This has to be one of the funniest movies I have EVER seen in my entire life. It has so mant wise cracks and they're soo hilarious. Now I'll admit it's not that much differnet from the show but it's definitely the funniest of all the episodes. If you've never laughed in your life and you think nothing will ever make you laugh, watch this movie. I almost peed my pants the first time I saw it.

Summary: Lost in Space
Review: This was a wonderful film. Although, not quite as good as the tv series. There are many, many episodes of the series that are equally as entertaining, if not more so. Especially the Sci-Fi network years. Mike, Kevin and Trace do a great job, especially in the theater. Some of the host segments are a little awkward. Personally, I would have liked to have seen Patrick's Gypsy in the film. Anyway, good movie, but even better tv-series. Too bad Sci-Fi screwed up and let them go.

Summary: Unanimity is always good.
Review: Try an experiment, gentle reader. Look at all the reviews of this DVD available on Amazon. As of this moment in time, not one gives it below four stars, and most give it five. Not one negative review. Go figure.

MST3K is simply a wonderful concept, executed with just the right degree of studied amateurishness (if that's a word) and vicious sarcasm. This is the future of humour, and the funniest thing to come from American television from the last ten years, with the possible exception of "The Simpsons". The movie, quite simply, is a superb example of why the premise works. Go get it.

Summary: Mystery Science Theater 3000, The Movie
Review: This is by far the best movie ever based on a tv show. If you are a big fan of the show, then you'll love the movie. The movie is a slap in the face to all bad movies everywhere. If you're in the mood for a good laugh, then this is the movie to go with. And the best part is that, like other movie based off tv shows, this one requires no previous knowlodge of the show.

Summary: Absolutely Hysterical !
Review: I loved this movie! My brother and I were rolling on the floor laughing throughout the whole movie! It's like whatching MST3K without all the commericals! The only problem I had was that I wasn't able to see this in the movies! I really hope they make another one!

Summary: "That's not funny, Ruth; I was a slave."
Review: Yeah, yeah, the movie's too short. Some friends of mine had a chance to see a press screening of this movie in 1996, before Universal made all its cuts. The original Best Brains product apparently ran 20 extra minutes, and included a host segment featuring an escape attempt. Maybe it'll crop up some day.

Still, this is worth your money, if just to hear Tom Servo cursing like a sailor. I always found that MST3K worked best when it went after halfway competent movies, like THIS ISLAND EARTH, and this works beautifully. Except for the skits, but that's just dirt in the ocean.

Summary: The MST Treatment Saves Another Cheesy Sci-Fi Movie!
Review: "Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie" is the big screen version of the once-popular Comedy Central (later Sci-Fi Network) series. In the series, Mike (or Joel) and his robot pals Gypsy, Tom Servo, and Crow make running wisecracks while watching awful sci-fi movies beamed up to them by the evil Dr. Forrester (Trace Beaulieu, who also voices Crow). In the big screen version, Mike and the 'bots take on Universal's "This Island Earth" with hilarious results!

One of the best reasons for owning this movie is that it is able to overcome many of the technical limitations placed on TV series (such as the motions of the robots, for instance). This provides a more intimate and interesting portrayal of the lives that the crew lead on the Satellite of Love.

If you are deciding whether to watch or buy this movie, please PLEASE ignore the Amazon.com review written by Miles Bethany. It's painfully apparent that he has never seen this movie from the fact that he continually refers to someone named "Jim". There's no character named Jim on the show (although Jim Mallon does the voice of Gypsy). He's clearly referring to either Joel or Mike, but in any event Miles Bethany ought to be fired for this if he's on Amazon's payroll!

Once you watch this movie, you'll hunger for episodes of the series if you've never seen it. Fortunately, the Sci-Fi Network Episodes are not yet available. They're not as funny as any of the early episodes and tend to get a little overindulgent. Additionally, Beaulieu left the series before it got picked up by Sci-Fi, and the actor who replaced him transformed the rather cute, insecure Crow into a character that I grew to dislike.

The William Shatner jokes are really funny on this movie, as well as Crow's impersonation of George Takei, which leaves me rolling on the floor. In any event, I recommend that you check out this movie if for no other reason than to find out what the hell an interocetor is (and hopefully how you spell the damned word)!

Summary: The best movie - but TOO SHORT!
Review: I'm not ashamed to say that I watch parts of this flick several times a week. There's no extra material on this DVD, but what could they have put in? A commentary track? ;-) My one and only complaint is the fact that they cut over 20 minutes from the original 86 minute film, "This Island Earth". Why they felt 74 minutes (including the scenes on the Satellite Of Love) was a good place to stop, I'll never know. Great Film!
