Summary: All you could ask for in a DVD of an 80's film.
Review: This movie rocks. And the DVD is really good quality. First DVD I ever bought. I won't go on and on about this one like I did on a Highlander review. Basically all you need to know is that this movie is extremely funny, and is worth it for the movie alone. The DVD is very nice quality, not anamorphic but still great for a transfer, there are no digital artifacts to be seen in this one. The extras, while not plentiful, what's there is great, and the commentary is beautiful. It kind of makes you just want to hang out with Mel Brooks and talk about this movie. Even though he does thank absolutely everyone in this movie, probably even the people that cleaned the actor's toilets. Just buy this one, you will love it, and it is a great addition to any collection.

Summary: A DVD review
Review: I love sci-fi and satires so I like this film mainly for the few hilarious scenes. I'm disappointed with this DVD though. The commentary by Brooks was recorded sometime after 1994 and he doesn't have much to say. Brooks is silent though much of the film and when he does talk, he often digresses and talks about his film career in general. When he talks about this film he mainly mentions names as 'so-and-so' did the special effects on that. When he is silent, the dialogue audio remains muted you can't hear anything. The commentary track is not very interesting and I certainly won't listen to it again. I'm surprised that the commentary was so bad concerning his very good commentary for 'Young Frankenstein'. The 'making of' documentary gives better insight into the making of the film, but it's only about 7 minutes long. Overall, this is a DVD I have in my collection because I like the film and not for the DVD features.

Summary: Spaceballs:The Custumer Review
Review: I'll admit it, this is not Mel Brooks' best film. Spaceballs can't hold a candle to Young Frankenstein or Blazing Saddles, yet this is still a film worth watching. Who cares if it is nothing more than a collection of jokes, most of them are funny anyway. There are a few low points in the movie however, the presence of Mel Brooks, Rick Moranis, and John Candy nearly totally make up for it; not totally, but enough to make it all worth while. I recommend this movie to any Sci-fi fan. Oh yeah, I'll have the special!

Summary: Dang good movie!
Review: Probably one of Mel's best works to date (with the exception of History of the world and Blazing Saddles), this movie is a definite purchase. I was only about 8 or 9 when I saw this movie the first time (its fairly old). Don't even read the rest of these reviews if you are a fan of Brooks, just buy the movie.

Summary: "KEEP FIREING ***HOLES!"
Review: This a hilarious movie which I recommend to any STAR WARS fan. It's not as great as Blazing Saddles or Young Frankenstein, but it is definitely worth seeing. It stars Mel Brooks,Rick Moranis, Bill Pullman, the late John Candy, the dreadful Daphne Zuniga, and the voice of the evil Joan Rivers. I love that Winnebago!

Summary: "I See Your Schwartz Is As Big As Mine"
Review: Spaceballs is bred from various sources including The Star Wars Trilogy, Star Trek, Alien, and Planet of the Apes, among other films of the past few decades. Not everyone of the jokes are all that incredibly original or entirely hilarious but the one-liners are just to funny not to bust out a belly laugh even after many viewings. I can't count how many times I've seen this on television and I don't tire of it. Lines like,"Only one man would give me the rasberry, Lonestar! Lonestar!" The whole substitution of the Schwartz for the Force was hilarity from start to finish. "I see your Schwartz is as big as mine. Let's see how well you handle it." That line in a nutshell(pun intended) is the epitome of what to expect from Spaceballs. I'm steadfast to praise anyone with the balls to poke fun at Star Wars.(Mel Brooks) I do love Star Wars but for the love of all things sacred and holy in the world its not scripture or scientific fact. I do refute with a Hail President Scrube and an order of Ludicrous Speed ahead! Spaceballs is a must see if you haven't seen it already.

Summary: Great comedy in a Star Wars environment
Review: I can only say two words about this movie, those being "Absolutely Hilarious." This movie is a series of never ending jokes, quips, and puns that are original and just down right funny. If you enjoyed Blazing Saddles, then you will certainly enjoy this because it is the same kind of humor in a Star Wars environment. Make sure you see it on DVD, it is well worth it. Enjoy.

~ General rule of thumb ~

Ya haven't seen a movie until you've seen it on DVD.

Summary: I hate it when I get my schwartz twisted....
Review: Spaceballs is without a doubt one of the funniest space parodies ever made. John Candy is hilarious as a "mawg", half-man, half-dog ("I'm my own best friend"). Bill Pullman gives a really funny performance, and even Mel Brooks makes a small cameo as Yogurt, the all-knowing master of the schwartz. The real star here though, is Rick Moranis as "Dark Helmet", he is just plain fantastic as the evil lord. If you have not seen this movie yet you have deprived yourself of a national treasure. P.S. best lines in the movie "What's the matter Col. Sanders, CHICKEN?" and "No sir, I didn't see you playing with your dolls again."

Summary: Keepin' it simple
Review: Well, I can sum everything I thought of the movie in just a few words. Classic, hilarious, superb, and most of all...the funniest dawg-on spoof of another movie I had ever seen. Definitely a classic in my eyes, and an all time favorite!
