Review: It's been out for 13 years now and still no movie has topped it's action

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Non-stop action from start to finish
Review: Do they get those Commie bas****? You bet, Cameron has enlisted a new crew of Marines to kick butt on those giant katydids {sorry Joe Bob Briggs). What we have here is a giant bug hunt. Weaver is ticked off from the first movie; let's annihilate them all! Only two anticlimaxes, the first had but one. Still good adventure.

Summary: Get away from her, you B*TCH!!!!
Review: I've always LOVED this movie! It's definitely one of the best action films I've had the pleasure of seeing. Ripley's back 57-years later to save some colonists in trouble w/ the aliens. There are no survivors on the planet save for a little girl named Newt, who brings out the "motherly" side of Ripley. Marines also accompany Ripley this time to save the day. Packed with action and fear, this movie shows that a sequel CAN be just as good as an original.

The only thing I don't like about 'Aliens' is how little we actually get to see the aliens! It seems they put so much work into making these aliens for the movie and all they managed to show us were tiny tiny split second scenes of them being blown to smithereens! At times Ripley and the others would be running away from them and you wouldn't see crap... It's like, what are they running from? It's really not that convincing. But some scenes and plus the Queen Alien sure make up for the flaws, so it about evens out.

Anyway, just check out this movie! And whatever you do don't watch Resurrection!! It's junk!!

Summary: putrid!
Review: This sequel to ALIEN displaces scares for "action." I got such a headache watching after the first few minutes. The killing of the aliens looked like a bunch of exploding fireballs utilizing quick-cut camera style filming, which mistakes creating confusion for creating excitement.

Summary: A must buy
Review: One of the greatest movies ever made for the Sci-fi genre. Ignore the baseless review giving one star. Yes this is a different movie with a different director. As a note, Aliens the movie served to redefine the "aliens" into its modern day incarnation and has served as the template for the series ever since.

Summary: "Aliens" Collector's Edition DVD Review!
Review: James Cameron's epic follow-up to Ridley Scott's "Alien" is regarded as one of the few sequels that can actually hold its own with the original. As part of the "Alien Quadrilogy" boxed set, this two-disc special edition release features the original released version of the film on a DVD format for the first time. You'll also get the longer 1991 special edition of the movie (the unofficial "Director's Cut") on the same disc. This is the DVD that the fans have been waiting for.

"Aliens" finds Sigourney Weaver's Ripley waking up from her hyper-sleep in space to discover that she has been gone for 57 years. When she discovers that the planet which the Nostromo crew discovered the original Alien on is now being colonized, she tries to warn them against it. When a rescue mission is eventually organized with a team of macho space marines, Ripley is sent in as an "advisor". Following their landing on the planet, the marines are ambushed and the survivors discover that they are being set-up by a government goon with an agenda. What follows is an explosion-filled roller coaster ride with more thrills than most of today's so-called "blockbuster" films.

The longer "Special Edition" version of the film adds many character moments including Ripley's discovery of what happened to her daughter, Hudson's macho "ultimate bad-ass" speech, and a scene where Ripley and Hicks exchange first names. Obviously if you are a huge fan of the movie, you'll probably prefer this version. The audio commentary brings a lot of insight into the film as everyone from director Cameron to special FX wizard Stan Winston contribute their memories. Sigourney Weaver is noticeably absent but the entertaining members of the ensemble cast including Michael Biehn, Bill Paxton, and Lance Henriksen make up for it with some hilarious stories and fond memories from the set. If the commentary wasn't enough, there's a whole bunch of featurettes that cover just about every detail from pre-production to the public's enitial response to the film's release.

"Aliens" was one of my favorite films for a long time. I was always a fan of the new characters, especially Michael Biehn's Corporal Hicks and Bill Paxton's cocky but sometimes cowardly Hudson. While I am far from one of the bigger Jim Cameron fans, I give him a great deal of credit for molding such an epic science fiction masterpiece. The movie has survived the test of time very well though Cameron will be the first to complain about the picture's grainy feeling. Even if you are not a die-hard fan of "Aliens", if there ever was a reason to own it on DVD, this is it.

Summary: In Your Living Room, Your Entire Family Can Hear You Scream
Review: "Aliens" is that rarest of movies: - A sequel which surpasses a popular original; - A movie with an unknown cast, many of whom (Michael Biehn, Bill Paxton, et al)went on to become major players in Hollywood); - A pro-military Hollywood flick; - A well-stirred mixture of scifi, horror, comedy, war movie, and political satire which somehow comes off as realistic nonetheless

Now add a "Special Edition" which is truly significant to the mix.

"Aliens-The Special Edition" includes about 20 minutes of additional footage to this classic popcorn flick. Believe it or not, the additional footage actually improves the movie, providing more background to the alien infestation of the terraforming colony and adding to the dramatic tension as the aliens attack the colonial marines and prove they are smarter than previously thought.

For those few who have never seen this movie, it concerns the return of flight lieutenant Ripley to the system where her original crew had encountered a vicious alien species, an encounter which only Ripley survived. After drifting through space in suspended animation for two generations, Ripley finds that the planet where the aliens were discovered has been settled by terraformers hoping to turn it into a colony. The settlers soon find a an alien shipwreck and a cargo of alien eggs, after which all contact is lost.

Ripley then accompanies a squadron of gung-ho colonial marines to the planet to investigate. Needless to say, this is anything but a routine mission.

Director James Cameron had the onerous task of trying to outdo Ridley Scott (director of "Alien") at his own game. Powered by a superb cast including Biehn, Paxton, Lars Henrikson, Paul Reiser, and Sigourney Weaver, Cameron accomplishes his mission---his sequel is even scarier and more tightly-plotted than its predecessor.

Grab a copy of this incredible movie by any means necessary, but when you watch it, do yourself a favor--leave the lights on.

Summary: Best Action Film - EVER!
Review: Sigourney Weaver triumphantly returns as Ripley in James Cameron's "ALIENS." Ripley wakes up only to find that she has been asleep for 60 years! Then, the spaceship that she is on wants her to return to a planet with the very same aliens that tried to kill her before! "ALIENS" is 1,000,000 times better than "ALIEN" and is filled with marveolus punch lines and scares! James Cameron really serves up a treat! See this film - skip out on "ALIEN." The only reason for watching it is backstory for "ALIENS." "ALIEN" sucks.

Summary: shocks just as much
Review: just as shocking as the first Alien movie
shocks just as much
makes you laugh
the priceless scene that's hilarious is where Bishop has his knife. asks the guy to play that game where you run the knife between each and every finger. and the dude doesn't get scared til it's his hand under the knife and Bishop goes "trust me" and the guy with his hand under goes "hey man this aint funny come on" and Bishop starts out slow and the guy starts wussing out with his moans. and Bishop goes so fast between each finger that it's hilarious. and when he's done not one finger was touched by the knife. Bishop gives the knife back to the guy and the guy goes as Bishop walks away "that wasn't funny man" and all his crew are laughing at him for not trusting Bishop
