Summary: One of the Best Sci-Fi/Action movies EVER!!!!
Review: I am so happy i bought the Alien Legacy Box Set on VHS because i really love the Aliens: Speical Edition. Aliens has always been one of my all time favorite movies. I never get tired of watching it. Cameron gave us great acting, speical effects, suspense, and kick ass action. Once the action starts it doesn't let up and its a roller coaster ride right to the finish. I enjoy most of the footage that Cameron put back in the Special Edition. Many of the restored scenes add more to the story and the charactes, especially Ripley. This one is a must have for any fan of the movie.

Summary: Amazing - Extra footage makes it even better!
Review: I first saw this movie in theatres and was blown away. Later on, I received a copy from the laserdisc version, which contained the extra footage. I was amazed at how much it added to the story as well as made it that much more exciting. It's great now that it's available to own on VHS. Cameron did a great job in the restoration of this film and a highly recommend it.

Summary: Best of series.
Review: When I saw ALIEN, I was rather bored with it. Sure, it was creepy, but Ridley Scott payed all attention to suspence, ie: long and tedious scenes. Thankfully, ALIENS is a masterpiece. It far outshines successors ALIEN3 and ALIEN: RESURRECTION, which were both just awful. ALIENS' main good point is action. With ALIEN, there were barely a few gunshots in the whole film, but here it's machine guns a-plenty! Sigourney Weaver is outstanding (and one of the film's best points) as Ellen Ripley, whereas in ALIEN she was merely a co-star. ALIENS also has a fantastic musical score, and the special effects are awesome. The aliens themselves are...well, just plain cool. And the alien Queen - WOW! The effects of it are stunning, and the sound effects (mainly it's breathing) are just plain eerie. There are loads of memorable characters, like Newt and Hudson, but personally my favourite has to be Bishop. I love all androids, and was disappointed with ALIEN's treachorous Ash. Thankfully Bishop is a wonderful character, brilliantly played by Lance Henriksen. But it's a shame he get's sliced in half at the end. There are some great lines, nail-biting scenes, and an overall terrifying setting. On the whole, far better than the other ALIEN films - and one of the greatest films of all time. James Cameron, well done!!!

Summary: preferable to even the heart-pounding original
Review: You've probably seen Aliens already, but not like this. The "lost" footage (probably so the movie would fit on a VHS tape) finally explains why the Aliens don't simply break the barricades, why Newt knows the layout of colony air ducts and why Ripley cares so much about Newt in the first place. It's still just as much a thrill ride as ever, only now it makes more sense too.

The video is clear and crisp as if it was shot yesterday, and Cameron knows how to do action scenes that stand the test of time. This is a DVD worthy of any action fan's library.

Summary: Awesome!
Review: The best "Thinking mans action movie" ever made

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: One of James Cameron's best.
Review: The best Alien movie of the saga. The best thing I enjoyed about this movie is it had a great cast. Besides Sigourney Weaver they had Michael Biehn, Paul Reiser, Lance Henriksen, and one of my favorite actors Bill Paxton. It had alot of action. Unlike Alien and Alien3 it didn't have alot of talking scenes. The death scenes are so dramatic . Good movie see it.

Summary: Classic SF at its best
Review: I have to agree with the others that sing the praises of this very well-crafted movie. The stories are great, the cast is fantastic, the acting is compelling, the effects are dazzling.

I remember thinking about Heinlein's novel "Startship Troopers" first time I saw this movie. I think that it updates the attitude along with the years, which the movie "Starship Troopers" did not (Starship Troopers was just too 1940's) The marines in this movie are an absolute delight and it is to the writer/director's credit that the characters were as rich and developed as they were. Just one more example of Cameron's devotion to detail on all levels. Not as "heavy" intellectually as Blade Runner, but good, rollicking fun, very well rendered.

Summary: You're missing out if you haven't seen the LD
Review: The transfer is awesome, the interactive menus are cool, but this has nothing on the LD. The extra scenes are here, some of the bonus material is here, but you ain't seen nothin' yet. The Laserdisc contains hundreds of pages with changes to the script, poroduction details down to minutia. Most people don't care to step through this kind of detail which takes hours and hours to view. For those who do, its an invaluable look into the heart and soul of moviemaking. The $20.00 tag on the DVD is much friendlier to the average consumer than the $100.00 I paid for my LD set. The LD format is not as user friendly either, and really shows its age next to the DVD. There are 6 disk sides. You have to flip them over every 20 minutes because they are in high speed. That really sucks. I now have a auto reverse player so that takes half the work out, but having the movie interrupted every 20 minutes just blows. The DVD is far superior in this regard. Maybe you can find a LD in the library or used book store just for the text, and buy the DVD for the best of both worlds.

Summary: Aliens: The best science fiction/horror film ever made!
Review: Along with "The Bride of Frankenstein" and "The Godfather, Part II," "Aliens" is the best sequel ever made. Like the two aforementioned films, "Aliens" is both better than its predecessor and it doesn't assume that you've seen the original.
