Summary: An entertaining tribute to the 50's monsters classic.
Review: When a chemical fall accidently in a moving track in a small town in Arizona. Local man (Unbilled Cameo by Tom Noonan) discover a way by using insects are being contaminate by the toxic waste, by feeding his spiders by growing increasingly rate on different spiders. Once, they grow in the size of SUVs, they go on a hungry rampage on attacking on the villagers on the town.

Directed by Ellroy Elkayem, who made a small terrific short called:Larger than Life (In someways has the same story as this one). Elkayem also wrote the story with Randy Kornfield (Jingle all the Way), Elkayem also the screenplay with Jesse Alexander. The film is surprisngly fast-paced with great CGI Effects and a nice blend of sense of humor. The movie has a fun cast also, including:David Arquette (Scream Trilogy), Kari Wuhrer (Anaconda), Scarlett Johansson (Ghost World), Doug E. Doug (Cool Runnings), Leon Rippy (Universal Soldier) and Eileen Ryan, who is actually Sean Penn's Mother. This film is made for people, who enjoy these fun loving films of the creatures and bugs flicks. DVD's has an nice anamorphic Widescreen (2.35:1) transfer and an strong Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. DVD also has Deleted Scenes, Tralier, History on the 50's Monsters film for the inspiration of this flick and the best of all:an running commentary track by the Director, Producer:Dean Delvin (Star Gate) and Actors:Arquette and Rick Overton. Do not miss this really enjoy film. Panavision. Grade:A-.

Summary: I Enjoyed Myself
Review: Corn ball creature feature about a small town over run by giant spiders. It reminded me of one of those 50s movies where the mad scientist turns small creatures into monsters. I had fun. At least I wasn't bored.

Where's "Mystery Science Theater 3000" for this one!

Summary: I am a Spider
Review: WOW - This movie is sooo amazing. The SFX is superb and the acting is top. The story is based on Tarantula and Arachnophobia. Its a very good, black comedy, you should watch it.

Summary: Great fun for those who miss B movies
Review: This was probably the most fun I've ever had in a movie theater. Not a David Arquette fan, I found him quite humorous. The diologue alone made the movie great, I mean "Shave your face, it looks like a strippers crotch". You can't get that from The Lord of the Rings.

And the Mall scenes, people running around a [poor] mid-western mall [a-la Dawn of the Dead] protecting themselves with weapons and, Lawn Furniture?

If you're looking to have a good time, and not devote a lot of thinking. Definately check out this flick.

Summary: This is great...but you have to like this genre.
Review: I loved this movie. It was very stupid and the jokes were some of the corniest I've heard. You have to be a certain type of person to be able to appreciate this film. You have to like dumb humor movies like Pootie Tang, Ace Ventura, and you have to be one of the many that when they saw XXX you burst out in laughter at the dumb lines that Vin Diesel delivers. I don't recommend this to everyone but if you were one of those people that I described you'll love this, and Kari Wuhrer is hot in it. My buddy Sags and I were laughing through the whole movie.

Summary: Have you ever seen a more disgusting movie.....
Review: No. The effects work in a lot of this movie was very gory and all. No one should think of food while watching this movie, that is if you don't leave the movie theater first. Between that and the bad acting and writing, this film stinks. It came from the man who gave us the American Godzilla film in 1998, so that sould explain everything.
Internet Geeks should love it.

Summary: Cool And Boring
Review: cool and boring
a science-fiction movie that is both at the same time, boring and fun...if you want it to be more fun include popcorn

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: More entertaining than Spider-Man
Review: 8 Legged Freaks was a surprisingly good movie. It isn't scary in any way, but it's very funny, the humor is very black (The parrot: "I see dead people", The Man: "He loved this movie, but I didn't" >>The Sixth Sense). The Special-Effects are from the director of Godzilla and Independence Day, Roland Emmerich. David Arquette(Scream 1-3, Never been kissed) gives one of the best performances I have ever seen in a movie(and he is so HOT). The other actors and actresses are great, too.

If you enjoy a very black comedy with the best Special-Effects since "Matrix", a great storyline, superb actors inclusive the sexiest man alive, David Arquette, I HIGHLY recommended this movie.

Summary: Nice Try, But No
Review: Uhhhh rrrriigght. Actually there was alot of effort to make this movie a classic "b" horror flick. Right from the beginning the movie grabs you by the back of your neck hairs(I was itching and scratching through this whole thing). All the ingredients are here- The acting was very so so (David Arquette needs to stay with b movies); every character cliche you could possibly have; Special effects that were one minute incredible would then reflect something from the 70's; paper thin plot with plenty of plot building attack scenes; and finally enough cheesey dialogue to choke a nest of rats. All of these things scream out classic horror. But why isn't it?

I think the rating and humorous dialogue was what killed the movie. Let me rephrase that; the downplaying of the serious scary scenes is what stunted this movie. By the way ratings shouldn't affect the potency of a horror movie (just watch Hitchkock or the original Haunting). But I think with this movie they really tried to hit too wide of an audience especially with the younger crowd. Every time something scary would happen the next scene would be something just totally silly. Humor is good but not when it counters every scary scene. At first I laughed but then half way through the movie it gets irritating. I wanted to be scared but how can you build tension or dread when you are constantly being jabbed in the ribs? The writers need to be demoted, its like they are insulting our intelligence and taking our money at the same time. Arachnaphobia(in my opinion the best spider movie) was a perfect example of humor mixed with horror. I was genuinely frightened and creeped out by that movie but I also laughed. Rmember John Goodman's character? Great subtle humor just enough to take the edge off and not rob the movie of its horror value. The humor parts on Eight Legged was just too much, it was too over the top, too overboard, too repetitive(one character goes off on aliens and conspiracies during the whole movie).

This my friends is what prevented the movie from being a classic. It still has some scary moments and not all the jokes are bad. I would definetly advise for matinee or the cheap seats only. If your a special effects fan I wouldn't wait until tape to watch it; there are some great motorcross and spider scenes.
