Summary: great weekend movie!
Review: Get the popcorn ready and get set for a really great 50's thriller. I like to think these giant (Ants) were real at one time or another. A fantastic job just like terrantula the black & white Sci-fi flick about spiders was aslo 'one of the great ones' these are the nostalgic B-movies of long ago. I still think these movies considering what they had to work with in the 50's and 60's are better done than the sci-fi flicks of today! even the sound effects the ants make, wow! Great job, go out and get this all time classic, (if you can find) to add to your collection!

Summary: GIANT ANTS, GIANT THRILLS.
Review: This Cold War Clasic, is one of the the best if not the best, It even dates itself to the first nucular test in the White Planes Area 9 years before the attack on the trailor. they explain every aspect of the ants reason for being there at that time.

There is one sceen that was without a dought the most frightening sceens in movie history, I have been told that grown woman screamed, and cried others ran out of the theater. That ofcourse is when Dr. Pat saw the big ant for the first time.

Look for some major stars in bit parts Spock, Crocket, Mr. Duke "Patty" Dub Taylor and ofcourse Santa.

This is a rich movie, with action, great one liners, and ofcourse our picknic friends

Summary: A well made movie
Review: Taking the year and limits of special effects available at that time, this movie is a remarkable accomplishment, even more so than some of the other fine sci fi films of the time. Whereas a lot of mutation movies have been made, this one stands second to none. It evokes a mystery, horror and excitement. A well made movie.

Summary: The TZ?
Review: This film transcends other films, mainly because it presented all its ideas first. Very Twilight Zone, very unique.

Summary: THEM AND US
Review: This is where the giant bug movies began... and end, all at the same time. For the duration of bug movies through the 1950's and 60's (as well as a few reaching into the 70's), there would never be one as classy, as well produced, as well scripted, performed and shot than THEM. All the hallmarks and trademarks of monster films are here (good cops, a military and government willing to take charge, own up to their mistakes and give full disclosure to the public, the old scientist father and the hot young scientist daughter who of course falls for our hero), and they all work. If you are a fan of classic monster movies, then THEM should top your list both on a entertainment level and critical film lesson as well (did you know? - THEM was originally shot to be shown in 3D, but was never released that way). Looking forward to the DVD release, but until then THEM on VHS will tide you over.

Summary: The very best of the Big Bug genre. . . .
Review: Most of the early '50s atomic-mutation critter films gave us poor plots, pathetically poor superimpositions and laughable actors. Either Gordon Douglas hadn't learned that early Sci-Fi meant 'B' movies or he just didn't care. The result is a true Science Fiction classic, one of the most frightening films ever put on celluloid. Them! combines competent acting by a superior cast, including James Arness and James Whitmore, with solid effects and just enough scientific credibility to make it easy for viewers to suspend their disbelief. These critters are not bullet-proof, they're not superintelligent, they're just too bloody big for any self-respecting ant, and therein lies more than enough trouble. Them! didn't give me nightmares, but I still get a bit of a shudder when I see an ant near my picnic basket.

Summary: the greatest film in the world
Review: A magnificent masterpiece of quality story telling and superb special effects, combine to make a film which has been a significent milestone in the science fiction genre.

The effect may look simple and cheep, but i just think there pipecleanertastic, a revolution in film making, a must for any si-fi freak and i am sure you will love it just as much as i do.

Summary: One of my sci-fi favorites
Review: Yeah, it's a little corny, but this is the archetype for the black-and-white late night TV fare I used to love as a kid on Midnight Macabre. Great "single-cherry" cop cars, spooky windswept desert drama, and plenty of army guys in jeeps fanning out through the LA sewers in pursuit of Them! Thus is a fun movie with excellent acting and definite Roswell-conspiracy overtones (set in the early-50's New Mexico barrens).

Summary: Pretty good effects for its time.
Review: The effects for this movie are pretty good for being 45 years old.The beggining is actually pretty scary and suspenseful. It is sad though when they talk about the people that were killed by the ants. One thing thats odd though is that on the cover they make it appear that the ants are about 40 feet high but on the movie the ants are about 7 feet high and on average 10 feet long.
