Rating: Summary: Harry Potter Review Review: I'm giving this movie five stars because I thought that the Chamber of Secrets was better than the first one. The story closely followed the book and there was a lot more action than in the Sorceror's Stone. Some of the scenes that I liked the best was when Harry and Ron were riding in the flying car and they crashed into the Whomping Willow Tree and when Harry and Ron were escaping from the clan of spiders after visiting Hagrid's friend. It was scary at the end of the movie when Harry was fighting the Basilisk snake at the end of the movie. If you liked the first movie then you will like the second one even better.
Rating: Summary: This could have been better Review: I'm a big Harry Potter fan, really, but I thought this was a disappointing (I really hate to use that annoying word)movie. There was nothing very exciting until the end, otherwise it was pretty dull. It was not very detailed and you didn't get very "acquainted" with the characters like in the first movie. It was sort of vague, for lack of a better discription. Some parts were good, but overall I didn't like it that much. In my opinion the first movie was better. It felt like it was just a bunch of scenes put together, and it didn't get very interesting until the end. I really hope the third one is better. ...

Rating: Summary: DO NOT listen to Alistair Cheetham Review: I really enjoyed this movie! I know it is not identical to the book, but that would be to long if it was. I'm a big Harry Potter fan, and I don't think Alistair should even be writing a review! She is talking about how horrible the actors and actresses are, and how the whole movie was just plain bad, I completly disagree! I think she should have let her 11 year old write the review! At least he/she was into the movie! From the way the review was written, she went into the theater expecting a bad movie, and came out with a bad movie. If you don't go in and try and enjoy it, there's no use in even going in the theater! Maybe if she went in with a better attitude towards it, she might have enjoyed it! I'm going to leave before I get too over reacted. But don't take this dummy's advice!!!!!!!!!!!! Watch the movie. It is really not as bad as this person makes it sound. Bye! :)
Rating: Summary: Chamber of Secrets reveals a treasure of enjoyment Review: Chamber of Secrets reveals a treasure of enjoyment All right, I've finally seen it on opening day, and my verdict that it would be the best film of the year has proved accurate. In his second year at Hogwarts, Harry hears an ominous voice speaking of blood and killing only audible to him. Ms. Norris, caretaker Argus Filch's cat, is found petrified. Colin Greevey, Griffindor's photographer, suffers the same fate, as do others. There's also a new teacher of Dark Arts, Gilderoy Lockhart, a handsome but vain and pompous self-promoter whose books are required textbooks for his class. The continuing antagonism between Harry and Draco Malfoy is ratcheted up a notch, as Malfoy becomes Slytherin's Quidditch Seeker. However, Ron Weasley's unassertive personality basically has him as a follower of Harry and Hermione. And Hermione more than ever proves to be a valuable linchpin of support via magical knowhow. The four main young actors Daniel Radcliffe (Harry), Rupert Grint (Ron), Emma Watson (Hermione), and Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) all show signs of that critical transition of adolescence, that dynamic increase in height and deepening of voices (for the males anyway). And they shine once again. Daniel Radcliffe in particular is more confident than ever without losing that enthusiastic smile (50 pts). Emma Watson once again takes top honours as Hermione, prettier and more self-assured than ever (70 pts). Tip to Warner Bros: treat her like royalty--she's invaluable. Of the adult actors, Richard Harris (Dumbledore) and Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid) still shine as the kind providers giving the young heroes moral support (80 pts each). However, Jason Isaacs steals the show, portraying Lucius Malfoy as a menacing force to be reckoned with, complete in flowing black robes and snakehead cane (80 pts). Kenneth Branagh (Lockhart) isn't bad; however, a little more egomania wouldn't have hurt (40 pts). Strangely, Hermione's crush on him in the book isn't utilized as much in the movie. And a hand to Shirley Henderson as Moaning Myrtle (70 pts). And 100 points to Chris Columbus! His assertions that he would remain faithful to J.K. Rowling's book and the improvement of CGI are fulfilled. Face it, had Harry Potter been written/filmed two decades earlier, the realization of Hogwarts, the Quidditch match, and certain monsters would've looked pathetic onscreen. Is the film darker than the first? In terms of content and scenery, yes, but the overly sentimental finale makes up for those moments. Darker will definitely apply to the third film. Those who have read The Prisoner Of Azkaban will doubtlessly agree with me on this. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets does not fail to disappoint. Not only does it show that sequels can equal or top the originals, but it is a worthy and heartfelt eulogy to Richard Harris, whose last film this was (extra 50 pts). The question now is, like the first movie, how many times will I see this gem of a movie over and over again? Rating: 1,100 pts out of 1,000.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Rendition of a Good Story Review: "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" gives viewers to an excellent view of the book, by the same name, by J.K. Rowling. Having been anticipated by fans for a year, this movie portray's its preceding book with grace and charm. It is very faithful to the text, omitting a few segments of text here and there without compromising the story. As with the previous movie, this one gives a theme of friendship, courage, and character. Though the magical acts in the movie play a role leading up to the climax, like the last movie, it does not take the central role in the end. Indeed, the victory of Harry Potter at the end of the movie is achieved through his friendship, courage, and character. This is a message that should be heeded. Many can lose this in the magical background of the movie. I highly recommend this movie, especially to the fans of the original book.
Rating: Summary: This Movie is Way Better Then the First! Review: Since I didn't really care for the first movie of this seris to much I was expecting much from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I saw it because I being a fan of the books had to know what they did to it. The movie was longer then the first but much much better. There was a little more comendy which lightened it and it was much much darker. The director warned parents that it was going to be darker before the release and the darker subject made it more entertaining. The only dull moment in the movie was when the main characters found themselves in the Dark Forest with giant spiders. Critic's hailed this movie not as good as the first but good so I was a little hesitant at that. But the actors being older and probally a little bit more like the character having pratice from the first one probally also made it enjoyable. The movie is about Harry Potter(Danelle Radcliff) who recently found out that he was a wizard. He attended a school that teaches magic called Hogwarts and during the summer holidays he lives with two Muggles(non-magic people)called Veron and Petunia who are also his aunt and auncle. There son Dudley is always picking on Harry. When Veron has two people over to the house to set a deal it could be the biggest deal of his career. He tells Harry to stay in his room and not make a peep but that is when he is visited by Dobby the house elf. Dobby warns him not to go back to school because terrible things would happen. Harry says no and Dobby goes downstairs to the family and the guests and dumps a cake Petunia made right onto the guest's head. Venon outs bars on Harry's roof and keeps him inside his room. One night Harry is visited by his friend Ron and his two brother Fred and George who have come to pick him up in a flying car. Harry escapes and before he knows it is back at school a month later. Everything is normal at first. He goes to his classes and visits his friends. He also gets a new teacher. Gilaroy Lockhart who is a pompus writer to is always boasting about his experence with creatures like hags, vampires, werewolf, etc. Everything is fine untill written on the wall of on of the halls are the words THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS HAS BEEN OPEN. ENIEMIS OF THE HEIR BEWARE! Now everybody is wondering what is going on and why some students are being petrified. The best part about the movie is the humor that is brought to the screen by Lockharts's character. In the end Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is a fun film that is much better then the first one in everyway. Also my condolences to Richard Harris who passed away two weeks before the release of the movie. Harris's last roles were Harry Potter and the Sorercer's Stone and The Count of Monte Cristo. Both in which he did excellant in. ENJOY!
Rating: Summary: Horrible! Review: Well, after having seen and loved the first Harry Potter movie, I took my girlfriend to see the film we had both been waiting for. She liked it but I HATED it. JK Rowling's novel is trashed in this awful film. Don't waste your money on this movie. Stick with the Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. This film is just morbid and disgusting, and if there were zero stars as an option, I would definitely select it.
